RE: Parkzone T28 Trojan: A new
I was sold this plane at the hobby store as a good trainer... I do not recommend it for that purpose. I can fly planes in real flight no problem but this bad boy is pretty fast and needs good airspeed to keep stable and aloft. I have crashed it quite a bit now and am coming to the conclusion a real trainer is necessary. I am excited for the day I can fly it though.

RE: WALKERA 4#3B 2.4Ghz Metal Upgraded Edition Helicopter
I am very surprised by the amount of wind my 4#3b can handle. It has been pretty windy out here and it handles just fine. The same wind makes my mcx and blade cx unflyable. This heli is way more fun outside then inside. I recommend hand launching it (when you get that far) over a grass field. its already durable enough and the grass will dampen the fall even more. Its just so light you know. Oh and learning ot cut the throttle on a crash is the best thing you can do for these little birds.

RE: NEW! E-Flite Blade Micro CX
For awhile the mcx was the best heli in my fleet. its just so much fun and you can fly it any time in the house. I then got a walkera 3#4. OMg if you guys are looking for the next step in indoor fun thats it. My mcx is is now the heli I fly while my little FP charges.

Axe cp gyro selection
Has anyone tried any of the gyros available at hobbyking.com with their AXE cp. I would love to do the nice gy240 nut that seems exspensive for how much the heli costs. Anyone done some cheap alternatives with success. Kevin

RE: ballast tank pump help needed
Why do you need it to be submersible? If you can keep it in the dry section I can lead you to many more options. Cheaper ones aswell. If you are going to use a submersible I would go with a sump pump, but they are large.

RE: Has Anyone Converted A Plastic Model To R/C?
did some initial tests in the neighbors pool. There is going to be a bit of a learning curve to drive this thing as it is a twin throttle with a rudder. I do wish I had counter rotating blade but i will live. Other then that she handles good on calm water and even has a very scale speed. At this size that means its pretty slow but who cares. I wonder what my run times will be on that little recieve pack. Perhaps I should go to 5 aa batteries and increase my speed a bit. What you guys think? Yo bad you didnt tour the nautilus it is free :)

RE: Has Anyone Converted A Plastic Model To R/C?
I am currently converting the 1/200 revel Smit Houston to rc. I am using 2 standard servo motors and a sub micro motor for the stearing. With a 4 channel radio I can now make it turn in its own radius.... So much fun.

RE: WALKERA 4#3B 2.4Ghz Metal Upgraded Edition Helicopter
Took the main motor apart today to inspect it. All the brushes were intact. With the exception of some char marks (that I cleaned off) the motor was fine. So, I re assembled it with some trinity motor oil and fired it back up. Got my standard run time and power out of it and the engine was wayyyyyyy cooler. I highly recommend oiling these motors. Also did some investigation in the tail while the main was disconnected and figured out that the shaft that the tail rotor was attached to had a small bend in it and is causing vibrations and inconsistent thrust. Still not convinced that I do not have a bad battery instead of a bad main motor though. On a side note has anyone considered using the atomic mods micro T motor in one of these? It has proper brushes and ball bearings to boot. It is also of the proper size. Now if the windings are right we would have a real winner. Perhaps a Frankenstein? http://www.atomicmods.com/Categories/Team-Losi-Micro-T/Motors.aspx Klaze: doesnt it figure I almost bought the BL version but didnt because I wanted to save a few bux. Should have read the forums first.

RE: WALKERA 4#3B 2.4Ghz Metal Upgraded Edition Helicopter
I only have about 20 flight so far. The tail will hold if I provide input but that is the only way. The tail still wags though.

RE: WALKERA 4#3B 2.4Ghz Metal Upgraded Edition Helicopter
So its not going to be due to vibration or anything. it would seem like I need more tail boom then. if it just cant keep up. I see the q version has a larger motor has anyone gotten more authority by using that motor on their b version?

RE: WALKERA 4#3B 2.4Ghz Metal Upgraded Edition Helicopter
Hey all, I picked one of these bad boys up after flying my mcx around the house and it is fantastic. I have been trying to learn how to fly my axe cp but the weather never cooperates. This little devil is finally giving me the training I require with a much lower repair bill! Hovered on the 3rd battery to boot. Only problem I have seen so far is that the main motor sucks. Ive read through nearly all of this post but have not seen a good replacement besides stock or a BL setup. Has anyone found a more reliable motor for these things yet? I have about 15 packs through my monster and it is rapidly loosing power. I always limit my flights to 7 min but, the motor is boiling hot at the end. Ordered two more stock motors and one of the heat sink posted earlier in this thread. Also my heli flies great but my tail isn't compensating enough for the rotor head regardless of how much trim I put in, I still have to maintain the tail or I spin. I am making sure to center the trim before start up as well. Is there a way to adjust the gain of the gyro? Also the tail twitched back and forth during operation. Any hints?

RE: NEW! E-Flite Blade Micro CX
I took the thing apart and did an inspection of the swash and could not find anything irregular. I am thinking I have a vibration from somewhere but cant seem to find the imbalance. The thing still flys pretty good especially while banking. Its just annoying watching it vibrate on spool up.

RE: NEW! E-Flite Blade Micro CX
I have a question for you guys. I have re angled my pc board for better servo performance but now my linkages are nearly at max extension to keep the swash level and are not as strong anymore. They can now bend left and right very easily. Also I noticed that during spin up the swash is floating all over the place. You guys have any ideas on this?

RE: It started with the Graupner U-16..
A shame I just sold my type 7c But if the heart is set on the type 7 there are a few different kits available. The one you posted, there is one made by gid Dave, and another sold by caswell. As far as I know Caswell is the only one offering a kit that replaces the control surfaces with ones that are ready to be RC. Here is a look at that kit http://s181686668.onlinehome.us/phpBB2/viewtopic.php5?t=7576

1/144 kilo
Well I am coming to realize I have a lot of subs and not enough money to fix and maintain them all. Therefore it is time to part ways with one of my boat. The Kilo is fully built and includes a 2 in wtc. It is a gas system. You will need a rx, battery, and pitch controller to get going. Will need to re ballast for your specific battery as well. I am asking 300 + shipping. This includes my very nice transportation case and stand. here is the build thread. http://s181686668.onlinehome.us/phpBB2/viewtopic.php5?t=7109 Kevin

RE: How to improve underwater RF reception?
I was always lead to believe the radio receiver and transmitter antenna length were tuned to operate most efficiently. Thats why you are told to never cut an aerial. Yup dont screw with it unless you have a polk or sombra labs system and can re tune the crystal. Why are you having issue with your reception. I have never had an issue with reception of the rx. Perhaps you are not utilizing the antenna properly? There is another type of antenna you can use if your having issues. It is a resistor based antenna I think. I would have to ask someone to find it though.

not to mentin the number of wires running down to the boat. You might aswell run an umbilical at that point!
