RE: Hooben's new T-55A
Feng, while you are at it could you please give us your best guestimate on the ETA for the Elefant and the Merkava? Thanks a lot!

RE: KV POWER = TAPS for CATS
I can see the attraction of the Tamiya KV-2 because of its unique profile, but funding being tight, I'll have to save my shrinking budget for either a SU 152, an Elefant or a Merkava. Naturally, I wish I have could have all of them!!!

Comparing my HL 1/16 M41A3 Bulldog to a 1/15 or 1/18 Bulldog it appears to be way too large. How much is it out of scale (if any)? Thanks a lot.

A 1/16 Abrams M1A1 and/or M1A2????
The only 1/16 models of post 1950's tanks I have, are the Tamiya Leopard 1A4 and Leopard 2A6. I have been looking for an Abrams M1A1 and/or M1A2 of the same quality for some time now, but without success. Are there any out there??

RE: Tamiya SU-152?
Thanks diasycutter At least they manufactured more SU-152s than very small number of 250 KV-2s (all in 1940-41, making it one of the rarer and more ineffective Soviet tanks)

RE: KV POWER = TAPS for CATS
Looking at the inputs on that magnificent and state of the art AFV, the KV-2, one can only wonder and be mystified by the following decision of the Soviets: When production shifted to the Ural Mountains, the KV-2 was dropped. While impressive on paper, it had been designed as a slow-moving bunker-buster. It was less useful in the type of highly mobile, fluid warfare that developed in World War II. The turret was so heavy it was difficult to traverse on non-level terrain, and it was expensive to produce. Only about 250 KV-2s were made, all in 1940-41, making it one of the rarer Soviet tanks

Tamiya SU-152?
First a Tamiya KV-1, then a KV-2. And next in all probability an SU-152 (an 152 L/32 howitzer on a KV-1 chassis), following the example of VsTank and of the Panther / Jagdpanther???? [Kindly NOTE: Last sentence intended exclusively and for all intents and puposes as a question, as the "???" marks should indicate] Thanks, Oli

RE: Tamiya SU-152?
Especially if its clearly not a rumour but a question, my dear Panzerkampfwagen V!! But here's another "rumour" you might find interesting: The SU-152 was a dual purpose gun, mounting a 152mm L/32 howitzer on a KV-I chassis. Its tank killing role was outstanding, and it would later be known as Zvierboy (Animal Killer) as it could knock out Tigers, Panthers, but also the giant Elefants. Prototypes of the KW-14 (later SU-152) on modified KW-1s chassis were completed in a record 25 days, and on February 7th of 1943 barely a month after the Russians captured their first PzKpfw. VI Tiger I, and the first twelve of the SU-152s were rushed to Kursk in July 1943, and an additional nine would arrive as reinforcements. SU-152's (as Jagdtigers) carried an explosive charge to destroy the cannon and the engine in case of capture danger.

Peace rivetcounter. That was only a bona fide question after the news of the KV-2 release. My apologies if it made an inroad into your sensitivities. You are really under no obligation to believe anything else except your eyes. Anyways, the release of a SU-152 would not be a bad idea for Tamiya. Oli
