RE: 'White Tiger'
Yes the Tiger is not very accurate, but I really enjoyed the film even though I don't know Russian! This film should sound GREAT with a home theater setup. Lots of engine and battle sounds and overall high production standards. I will be looking for the DVD with English subtitles whenever its available.

RE: Which Panzers had pivot turning capability?
I've seen a photo of the ground left by a Maus doing a "pivot" turn. It churned up a tall pile of dirt in a circle.

RE: Planning a trip to Fort Lee, VA
The Elefant, Anzio Anne and about 2 dozen assorted AFV's have been moved to Fort Lee, but they are not on public display. In fact, congress is debating in commitee whether its even cost effective to have these relic tanks in the Army's possesion. The planned Ordance Museum at Fort Lee is not gonna happen any time soon, if at all. Hopefully they will send them to Danville or the Fort Benning project.

Impressive... Most Impressive.. The term "Less is More" seems appropriate for your pint sized tank killer.

Very cool, now I know what they are called (slip rings). Do 3 to 24 passes mean up to 24 devices can be controlled by one of these? Thanks in advance.

RE: Dragon 1/6 Sherman Is Out Now!!!
When the 1/6 static Stuart tank first came out I RC'd one using 2 electric screwdrivers and a tamiya dmd controller. It worked well. For the Sherman maybe you could use 2 used power drills?

Wheel bearings question
I've never put wheel bearings on a tank of mine before. I was wondering if they make a big difference in performance and do they degrade with time, such as after getting wet or dirty. Thanks for your help!

RE: What's new from Tamiya
Armortek is all metal and occasionally needs re-drilling to align properly. I have a King Tiger of theirs thats been sitting over a year while I figure how to drill the body together. Never had that happen with a Tamiya Tank. In fairness I think Armortek quality has improved in the last year or so since they've upgraded at least one of their cnc machines. Oh, and they don't take to criticism on their website so this is the first time i've been able to vent about it..

RE: Anyone buy a MATO all metal TIGER? Reviews??
It is interesting that no one has a Mato Metal Tiger to share photos of. Its not a bad price for an all metal tank. But like Dave, I'm waiting for some more reviews of it before I commit to buying one. A video and/or side by side comparison of the HL, Tamiya and Mato would be Great! I'm one of those guys that likes the idea of an all metal tank. I have a Tamiya Tiger I and love it, but there is always room for more :) Tom

RE: How to get fecked for your own money!
I noticed Asiatam pulled the Elefant from their website fairly quickly after they released it. Perhaps claims of shoddy workmanship were made weeks ago by others. Sorry for your dissapointment Eugen. So has anyone gotten the Mato all metal Tiger I?

Torro 1/16 Professional Metal Edition King Tiger
Claims 90% metal. Interesting wooden carrying case. Don't bother clicking on the images, you'll just see a 1/16 Panther pic A bit pricey, especially with no detailed pictures or video to properly market this set. Anyone have one or want one to review? http://www.tankzone.co.uk/cart/henglong.htm It would be worth asking for a VAT discount if living outside the UK.

RE: Ins & Outs of dealing with a UPS claim...?
My 2 cents: Open UPS box - Examine contents, If Parts can be glued back on then do so => enjoy model My Related Story: Waiting for USPS mailman, substitute driver that day, stood near door because he may be going to other apartments not mine, I hear a "Bump! bump, bump bump......." against my door. he THREW my package against the door, thats how he knocked... I open door, he looks back like a kid caught stealing candy as he descents the stairs My Packaging Advice: Bubblewrap Bubblewrap Bubblewrap. No movement allowed inside box. Large enough box so most weight is at the bottom ( even a Neanderthal would pick it Rightside UP that way). Double tape all seams with clear plastic tape until package is almost air tight. No styrofoam bits, I hate that electrostatic &#)@! There should be nothing sticking out from the box, ie tape, labels, misaligned cardboard. Clear plastic tape over shipping address label. If shipping USPS use Priority mail when possible, the bins are smaller hence fewer packages will come in contact with yours. When shipping something very expensive, double box, ie, bubblewrap all the above and then put into another box. I've had good results so far.
