Mig 15 Will take some photos before the first flight (figure that may be the best way..LOL) and will get a vid of the first flight. OMG now that is a post !!! I will have set aside some time to read that one..lol. I was supprised myself when the carton arrived and it seems not much bigger than the canopy and when you open it the largest component is in fact the canopy. The build is one of the best parts as there is the antisipation of how it will finish and what it will be like to fly. I did the dowel rod thing but used no ping pong balls, the sticks where enough to save it if things went bad. I wish the best for this the most exciting hobby you can spend you money on. I have done bungy jumping, sky diving(tandem) and MTB and even done track days on a GSX-R1000 at eastern Creek here in Aus and none are as good as flying RC helicopters. This my friend is the best way to waste time.

Lipo charging
When I return home from the flying field I frequent I usually spend the next few hours charging all my spent lipos. I just recently was informed I should be charging them just prior to use like the night before flying. Will my charging a week before the next use damage them? Time is infinitely more precious than money, and there is nothing common between them. Just got hold of a copy of "Ultimate Heli 3D". Omg he makes 3D all look so easy. I think I will stick with learning the basics first. I noticed even when he is doing basic tumbles he is doing a lot of correctional stick work. Hey Hollywood, Nice looking bird mate.

Hi Guys, assesment complete. One cyclic servo, just need new gears($6.00) Flybar, feathering shaft, Main Shaft, bladegrips, Blades and landing skids (broke my new cnc alloy bling DOH) had all but the servo gear in stock.

I just met this guys recently at a flying field and he tells me he loves helicopter, I thought, "so do I" but I am not in the same league.. Check out some of his fleet. the bigger one's are kept in the shed. LOL

Woot, Went to the park this morning(Sunday) and there was about 30 flyers there. At least 10 were heli flyers so I knew I was going to have a good day, I put 2 packs through both the 500 and 450 then starting getting adventurous. It was fantastic, I flew like a I have never flewn before. Super fast low fly by's and heaps of big fast turns so the blades make the real heli sound. Can't wait to be good enough for 3d but until then I hope to keep flying like today. Just thought I would share the joy! cheers

some small adjustments and the sport canopy is fine. Flew with it this afternoon and it is unreal, so bright. Got a SE canopy on order but here in Aus it takes a little while to get here so I will check out which one I prefer but gotta say I love the colours of this one. cheers

Flew my 450 this afternoon after expensive rebuild, Man I just love this thing! I think I like flying the 450 more than the 500. If someone asked my now what I would recommend as their first heli I would most certainly say the 450. I think it is because of the light weight, it recovers so quick. Jeff Great flying with your 450 mate. That bucker moment scared me watching, I can only imagine what is was like on the sticks. [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

hi Guys my 450 spat the dummie, flew off by itself and slammed into the grass. The ESC made some strange sounds but I ignored this as there was some traffic noise and didn't think too much of it. (BIG MISTAKE). Anyway I have purchased a new align ESC from LHS and had trouble getting HS65mg servos so I went with the align 410's, they are very similar size and have better specs. YOUR THOUGHTS on the servos?

finally got the 450 in the air this morning, had some trouble getting the gyro set just right but I eventually worked it out. It is one of those cheap Telebee things, but it works just fine now. All I have to do this afternoon is fix the blade tracking. Got some nice carbons coming, using Align woodies that came with it for now. I really like how the 450 can be flown in small areas. I love it. I will get a small vid going some time this week. Michael

I am yet to see a real helicopter with a big metal button on the top of the rotor. I aim for SOME realism. Besides less weight mean longer flying time.!!!

I have 8 of those 2800 mah 6S lipo's from hongkong on ebay. I have had two of them for months now and have they have done about 50 cycles each and no change in performance. Ordered a 450 today, I want to go down so I can be a little more adventurous with out the LARGER repair bill.

Hi Pat, I have a 500 and I use Hitech HS 82MG's and have had no trouble. I am a learner so being my first heli I wanted something I could replace inexpensively and have done so many times. Now that I am getting better I think I may eventually go to the HS 5245 servos. cheers from OZ

Had a small crash this afternoon but fortunately only smashed my blades. It was a panic emergency landing that had the blades hit the ground just for a second but enough to take the first layer off the bottom. I could still fly with them but changed anyways. Better to have the best blades on. They don't cost that much to replace. I got this canopy, very excited. and ordered another 2 sets of blades ready for the next mishap.lol Michael

I have been keeping a careful eye on the guts left in my lipos after flights and found with those lipos I got off ebay that I can get 10 minutes in the air with sport flying, no 3D stuff as I am not that advanced yet. After 10 minutes I have 3.75 left in each cell so I set my timer to 8.30 to allow for time to get back in and have a little hover before shutting down. Could someone tell me the maximum discharge I can go to, I noticed that after my 10 minute flight the 2800 mah took 2180. Have I gone to far?
