RE: 3rd boat. flat deck 3-point hydro
No need to thank me mate, its not hard to admire genuine skill and care in craftsmanship thats required to make something that works and looks beautiful at the same time. Ive always loved the old style timber boats etc. from back when paint wasnt needed as the mix of timbers used and their natural colours were what created the patterns, shapes and designs that made them so sought after (and expensive) Gone are the days when things made from timber were works of art made with care by skilled hands. (DAMN YOU IKEA !)LOL As for your RX battery problem, my LHS sells flat packs of the 4 rechargeable AA's (laying side by side)shrink wrapped and wired. Would there be enough room to glue/DS tape/velcro one of these packs to the underside of your radio box lid?? Might be an option for you??

RE: 25cc Homelite short-shaft
Cheers AV8TOR, wasnt sure on the best timing for air prop use as I've mainly modded the Homies for water propped boats. I will only be running a 15 or 16 inch prop though and hopefully getting the revs up there. Hey mjcelli, I made this whole prop hub myself as I cant get them locally.

25cc Homelite short-shaft
A couple of pics. of this one I've started converting. I will be running the stock ignition so I have lightened the flywheel and also spun up a prop hub for it, I have cleaned and bead blasted the case and jug ready for some high temp. paint! Not sure on what mods I will do to the head as far as porting etc. goes before bolting it all back together, any one have any suggestions on good mods/timing etc. they want to share it would be appreciated greatly and taken on board! ;) PICS. Old prop was just for measuring the diam. of the hub etc. so dont worry it wont be used! LOL :D Bottom end bolted to the engine mount and sitting on what it will be soon powering! RE: New boogie board air boat problems
You can try tilting the motor down slightly to lift the front end that bit more, might just fix the the problem without adding weight.

RE: help on identifing my engine.
I dont know if you have one but I have modded a pull start pulley to sit over the spacer on the crank shaft behind the prop, then you can just use a rope with a handle on it wrapped around to pull start the motor. This is on a 'Mac' longshaft motor but I did the same on my 30cc Homelite.

Looks pretty close, its the same muffler, rear carby but slightly different prop adapter. The one here has cutouts around it.

RE: CRRC pro GP50R Porting. (What the??)
I did not intend to bag their product but was more hoping someone would have posted up that he got a dud engine and that this is not normally the case. As I said, I usually play with converting weedies for myself and a couple of friends. I am not a flyer (more boats/Airboats)so have not had much experiance with these purpose built engines but I would never pay good money to end up with something like this one. I have pretty much smoothed out all the ports now and polished the exhaust port already but still have to start on one of the transfer ports so will try to get a good enough pic to post up if you guys would like. I will be skimming the main case to relieve the bearing areas by a thou. or two, so that will fix the binding problem. Im also thinking of getting a seal with a larger ID so I can spin up a sleeve to go between the two bearings to stop loading them up when the prop adapter is torqued up as they are only standard bearings and not designed for side load as proper 'thrust' bearings are . I actually have 12 years experience as an Overhaul Tech. working with full scale Aircraft so I have access to all the tooling needed, so its really just time to get it all done and put together right and he should have a good engine will last. It will probably perform a lot better (rpm etc.) by just fixing the binding bearing problem without all the port work so it will be interesting to see once its all back together how it performs compared to other peoples stock versions.

CRRC pro GP50R Porting. (What the??)
Has any body else had a look at the porting of one of these? I was given one to put new bearings in (third set) and do a polish job on the ports for a friend. Talk about rough casting!! Most of the weed wacker engines I play with are a lot cleaner/smoother than this thing by far! Already spent quite a few hours just smoothing the port castings out and still not ready to do a proper polish on them, so many pits, dags, high spots I couldnt believe it. Never mind that the crank bearings are that tight in the casing that they feel rough before the crank goes in, which is why his engine is far too tight once assembled and he is now on his third set. Not real good for a engine with only minimal run time!

RE: 47inch deep v?
Sorry I took so long to get back to you guys, its not actually my boat it belongs to the guy at my local Xmoto/hobby shop. He has never set up a boat (gas plane guy)before and has asked for my help but my experience is limited to running boats with modded weedy engines. It was one of those chinese RTR boats with the cheap watercooled gas engine but he sold the engine to someone and wanted to set it up with electric so as not to annoy people with a screaming 2 stroke. He is not after a race boat but wants a moderately fast play boat. I think he has 2 big lipo 2s packs that he was going to use but he has no idea on watercooled motors etc. It still has the 1/4 flex drive and all the running gear minus the 2 stroke. Any help is great, thanks again guys.

RE: New Mount for 32cc Gasser.
ORIGINAL: av8tor1977 Looks good. How is that exhaust tube held in? AV8TOR
Hey AV8TOR, I put them in using a rivet and a small amount of high temp silcone. Works really well, just have to make sure you cut the hole for the pipe so it sits right against one of the inside walls and make it a snug fit. I have done a how to write up on how to mod them like this if anybody is interested. The 2 I did at the same time.

Will be interesting to see how she runs with that tuned pipe! Have you had a tach. on that combo to see what max RPM's it hits? How is your COG, is it around 30% from the rear? Hard to tell how she balances from the pics. Looking foreward to see a vid. when you get her out!
