RE: Goldwing 30cc, 50cc Aircraft Parts ....>>>
Taz, I really hope it works out for you and you can have a steady supply of parts, this hobby needs it for the Goldwing customers. I may consider going back to Goldwing but will need to see that it's not a one time parts deal only.

RE: Goldwing 30cc, 50cc Aircraft Parts ....>>>
Taz, You are about 6months too late for me...needed a pair of wings for my 50cc Goldwing Sbach 342 V3 and after the hassle I had to go through with not being able to find any parts I would never buy Goldwing again it truly is not worth the hassle. Rather just go to Pilot-RC, they have the parts for their planes. But it sounds like you have a one time deal on parts in a warehouse and not a steady supply of parts. I will keep you in mind if I ever need any Goldwing parts though. Do you know the reason why Goldwing does not supply parts?

RE: GoldWing Aircraft Support
I had the same problem with Goldwing, needed a right wing for my 50cc Sbach 342 and could not get any support from them or their dealers in the US.....they really suck! I will never buy another Goldwing product, would rather spend a little more money and get a Pilot-RC plane next time.

Yep....I stuck a small wire into the holes and moved it around, seem to do the trick.

RE: New DLE 55 always dies on taxi.
Update...... I started the engine today after reassembling the carburetor and it started right up with no problems and for the first time I was able to get the idle down as low as 1500-1600 rpm with out the engine dying. Before I took the carburetor apart the lowest it would go would be about 1900-2000rpm, so I think there was definitely crap in one of the progression holes that is responsible for low idle. Tomorrow I will try to work on tuning it a little, had no time today to do it. I did look around the the carburetor gaskets for air leaks, did not find any. May be difficult to find if it's a subtle air leak though. Still curious about the recommended throttle servo.....digital or analog? Metal or nylon gear? Any thoughts?

I actually misunderstood the question" w8ye" was asking about the idle screw, I thought he meant the actual low end needle screw and not the idle stop screw thats why I was curious about replacing it and where to buy one.

RE: New DLE 55 always dies on taxi.
BTW.....Removing the idle screw was the first thing I did when I was setting up the plane. I also use a fiber optice kill switch from smart fly on all my gas planes, I never liked depending on closing the carburetor all the way to kill the engine.

RE: New DLE 55 always dies on taxi.
kmeyers......Fair questions indeed. I have been flying giant scale gas for about 3-4years, and this is my third gas plane. The other two are 40cc and still fly them and they fly great and idle well. However ths is my first DLE engine, the other two engines are CRRC Pro 40cc and work really good, never had any idle issues with them but they are side mounted carburetors and my reasearch the last few days seems to indicate that the rear mounted carburetors may be a little more sensitive to outside temperatures and needle adjustments.....not sure how true that statment is though, still learning. I think the throttle linkage is good...pretty much the same setup on my other planes. I did notice the idle around 1900-2000rpm when I first had the engine on a test stand but figured I would deal with it when the plane was done and ready. I did disassemble the carburetor the last few days and cleaned all the holes and did notice one of the progression holes that is responsible for idle seem a little clogged perhaps with a metal burr maybe during the milling process. It's all put back together now and ready to run it tomorrow if the weather permits.

RE: New DLE 55 always dies on taxi.
I took the carburetor apart tonight besides for a little crap in the filter it looked pretty clean. The high and low speed needle channels looked clean but the three small holes in the barrel that appear to be connected to the low speed needle channel are difficult to tell wether they are clear or not. I think these small holes may be responsible for the idle gas/air mixture input to the engine, but not sure will have to do a little research on that. I used compressed air to blow (gently) all the air and fuel channels. Truly amazing how very simply that carburetor is, but very effective.

RE: New DLE 55 always dies on taxi.
wrk.....Yea probably right, got the idle too low because it does want to roll away. Will try some silicone tubing on the wheel shaft to slow it down.

RE: New DLE 55 always dies on taxi.
I have leaned it out and got good transition from idle to full throttle without any hesitation. But then it dies on the taxi way....

RE: New DLE 55 always dies on taxi.
bgw45......i am flying from a paved runway....have been considering putting brakes on the wheels to slow it down during taxi. I will definitely check the gap. Once I am up in the air the engine is very reliable...she has never died on me yet. But my feeling is that during taxi the rpm drops below 1900 and thats when it dies. When I start the engine and hold the plane it seems to be fine.

RE: New DLE 55 always dies on taxi.
I am getting about 1900 with a 22 X 8 Zoar and about 6700 at full throttle. I guess it's not too bad....only if it didn't die on taxi.

RE: New DLE 55 always dies on taxi.
Hi All, The engine has always done this right out of the box. I swapped the plug for the NGK CM-6, not sure of the gap. What should it be? I have not taken the carb apart yet..I wanted to try the simplest things first. w8ye.......I will definitely consider changing the servo to digital, but you are correct...metal gears sometime do have more slop than nylon. Have any of you guys been able to get the idle as low at the manual says 1350rpm without it dying?? What prop's are you guys using and what idle rpm's are you getting with your DLE55? Thanks.

New DLE 55 always dies on taxi.
Hi All, I have a new DLE 55 with about 3gallaons through it and using a 22X8 prop. The engine starts fine and has good transition to full throttle, with the lowest idle I can get is about 1900rpm (manual says 1350rpm but have never gotten it that low without it dying) but everytime its taxing out it dies. I have increased the idle to where it does not die during taxing but now the plane just runs away and is difficult to control during taxi. I have spent a lot of time adjusting the low idle mixture screw but does not really help. Not sure what to do..... Not sure if this is related but I am using a standard futaba s3004 servo on the throttle, may be too much slop in the nylon gears during idle can cause iratic idle.....may be I should switch to a digital servo??? Not sure if that would help. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great. Thanks

aussiesteve: Thanks for the info. I guess there are some draw backs to the lower priced ARF's than the $699 Aeroworks models & similar ones out there. I did not know they were made in Shenzhen, I was there this time last year on business, would have liked to see the factory. Thanks

RE: Pitts Muffler for CRRC 40cc
Jody: This muffler was never placed on a vice, never came in contact with the cowl or engine box and was never bashed in. The two pipes were cut to clear the cowl by placing it on the end of a work bench and then cut, I was careful not to put any stress on the rest of the muffler. If any part of the muffler that should have failed should have been the two pipes, and at that point I would not even bother returning it to you. This is not the first time I have used a muffler for a gas engine. The main issue I have is not the expense or hassle of returning the muffler but the fact that after reading the disclaimer on the ValleyView RC’s website about the mufflers it seems obvious to me now that you guys are well aware of the poor quality of these mufflers but continue to sell them. Even in our conservation you mentioned several time “these mufflers are not the best so may be you should stop selling these mufflers from CRRC and sell something of a better quality from JTEC as a replacement.

RE: Pitts Muffler for CRRC 40cc
Unfortunately for me when I made this purchase it was a phone order with Jody and I wish he had told me at the time that they do not warranty their mufflers. I would thought twice about placing the order. Usually when a company does not honor a warranty its a good sign that they have no confidence in the product they are selling.

Pitts Muffler for CRRC 40cc
Does anyone know who sells a Pitts style muffler for the CRRC 40cc engine. I bought one from ValleyView RC a few weeks ago and it fell apart on my second flight and to make matters even worst they refused to replace it under warranty. I will NEVER buy another thing from ValleyView RC. My worst experience ever dealing with them. Their mufflers are a piece of JUNK and they know it, thats why they don't warranty their mufflers.
