RE: FS One by Hangar 9
The main thing that really bugs me is the RESOLUTION OF THE COLLECTIVE STICK when I'm flying helis!!! This is really frustrating, say I'm trying to hover... The heli is ASCENDING at about 2-3mph, I add a tick of downward collective... nothing happens... I add another tick... still nothing.... another tiny increment... NOW THE HELI IS DESCENDING at 2-3mph... It ends up with the heli bobbing up and down between about 5 feet while hovering, making it impossible to perform spot landings, and figure 8s... or anything else with accuracy. This actually makes it impossible to maintain a head-high hover, or maintain altitude when out of the ground effect. I tried using the throttle dial to hover... SAME PROBLEM, I tried using the trim slider to hover... 3 ticks of trim, nothing happens, one more and WOW a big response... I'm going to switch sims, this is a fatal flaw I tried to hook up my dx6i but it wouldn't work.

RE: I want to try EDF, I don't know where to start!
Awesome! That's what I'll do! What's the build like, and how does it perform? Will it be capable of snap rolls, spins and knife edge or is that only possible with a puller prop?

RE: I want to try EDF, I don't know where to start!
So how about the 33" Bob-E-Cat with the MiniFan Pro (480), And a Scorpion 2221-6 (4400 Kv) with a Hyperion 50a ESC, then I'll run a 3s 4000ma/h pack. I've already got a 2221-6 and 50 ESC, I ran it in my T-rex 450. I'd like it to transfer it into the Bob-E-Cat. Is this a viable plan? Also, where do I get the 1/2a retracts and what's the build like? I can't seem to fin much info... http://www.ejf.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=205

I want to try EDF, I don't know where to start!
I've been flying helis for a few years and started flying planes earlier this year, I want to fly an EDF model, I lost my T-28 with my aerial photography gear and everything in the ocean when I lost orientation yesterday. This is pretty sad as I had invested almost a thousand into it and only flew it a handful of times. I've been looking at the E-flite f-15 eagle, I like the power sytem (would probably change to 480 motors on 4s), I like the large scale, and some aspects of the design, but they quality is really lacking in my opinion, is that regular styrafoam?! I'd really like to hear some suggestions. Thanks.

RE: Intellect 6000mah lipo in b44
Does anybody know the height of the battery brace in the b44 with the set and thumb screws threaded on 2-3 turns? I won't get my b44 in the mail until next week and I want to know if what batteries will work. Why does trinity put connectors that can hardly handle 35 amps on a pack that can deliver 360 amps? [:)]

You can get these packs for about 75-80 bucks, they're 31mm high... Are they of decent quality and will they fit the b44? http://www.precisionrc.com/nv/car/product/details.is?product_id=56169

RE: Looking for a Reputable/Reliable company
I always advise people not to buy from those iffy sites like xheli, nitroplanes, xrc, nitrorcx, minirccar, exceedrc, redcat, ETC. all those sites sell inferior products (some worse than others), obviously you or I wouldn't fall for it, but they are in business selling these products to laymen who don't know any better... at least they help keep the hobby small and breed out the dumb ones... [;)] helidirect, readyheli, Heliproz, amainhobbies, Amain is my favorite... [;)] buy from those guys! If the site is dressed up like a toy store (with terms that appeal to little kids) like the ones I mentioned, stay away! Also, most of the sites that advertise outside of the boards are no good. like if you see an ad in google or wherever that says "2 speed nitro buggy" ETC it's probably one of those no good turds. Some people will back these guys up saying their prices are low for low income people, but for the garbage that you get, these things are overpriced.

RE: Hey, on a mission to the upper troposphere, need your help.
I've been flying an align 450 for 6 months now, I own a sim. I can hover in all directions and fly in FF, not much 3d, can roll and loop. I understand the difficulty in flying helis in FPV... That's why I'm considering a plane instead. http://www.dynaflite.com/reviews/dyfa4502-rcr.html I was thinking a powered glider would be efficient and it's large wing span would provide lift at high altitudes.

RE: Hey, on a mission to the upper troposphere, need your help.
I would just let the blades autorotate as the heli descends to keep it stable and save power, the landing would be in a powered flight mode. Not in favor of a 450 though... might see what kind of ceiling a powered glider would have...

How's it look? I want to use a Spektrum radio system (2.4ghz) will it interfere with my 2.4ghz video system? Also, thinking about platforms, will a 450 heli haul this crap up into no man's land and be able to auto down? should I go with an overpowered easystar or something? 3 miles is 15,000 feet, do you think if it's straight up my range will improve? EDIT: don't pay attention to the relay, that's for something else.

Aluminum carrying cases for 400 and 450 helis
I found most of them use terrible materials and they either have crappy foam, tiny gauge aluminum, don't fit right, or all three of those things. Does anyone have experience with these? I was wondering which one is best. I've got a B400 now, probably going to upgrade to the Beam E4 eventually. Just wondering which one would fit my spektrum dx6i and heli and hold up well. Thanks, -Matt

What's your sim, and looking for a cool heli.
I've only got about $400 right now, I downloaded the free demo for G4, tough to fly a heli with the keyboard! I want to learn how to fly a 450 CCPM, and be able to go from a ground hugging newb all the way to advanced 3D with the sim. Flying a 4-channel CX got me bug-eyed, I might have a heart attack if I jump into CP helis without a sim. I can't really afford to crash, so I want to avoid trying to learn with the actual heli I don't want to fly it until I'm more confident. I also really like micro helis, but I haven't heard great things about them, If there's one that would deliver the same stable hover as a 400+ heli, let me know. I like nitro too, I've been racing 8th scale truggies at www.tacomarc.com for 3 years now, and nitro engine tuning is something I can do easily now. I saw the blackhawk micro nitro heli, it doesn't look like it would perform too well, probably better if it were electric, but I like it just because it's different. And, I would be afraid to fly a large nitro becasue of the cost involved if I crashed. Mainly I'm wondering which sim would be best for learning small helis. And what are some interesting one-of-a-kind helis like the micron or micro nitro ETC? What are your opinions on E-flite and they're crappy materials and high prices ETC. I like the Beam 4 A LOT! Just by looking at it has the same beautiful machining and tight tolerances I look for in truggies, I compared it too an align SE and am I wrong to think it looks nicer? Thunder tiger and kyosho both make truggies and kyosho's are much nicer than thunder tiger's is the same true for their helis? Just can't decide what I really want, thanks![:)]

RE: Would you want "The Perfect RC Vehicle"?
If it were perfect in every way you would be able to modify it, not being able to make it better is a flaw so it wouldn't be perfect... Perfect would keep you extremely entertained and you would get high on adrenaline every time you used it or worked on it... or used it and worked on it at exactly the same time.
