RE: CMP 120 Zero ARF Build thread
Really nice work on the Zero Frets, your going to love that Saito 200Ti too, It sounds awesome !!, be sure to re tune after run in though as they have them set really rich at the low end from factory and you will eventually start getting a cylinder fouling. Cheers.

RE: TBM 93
A link to the short vid of todays shake down flight since the belly landing, was not with out drama as I had the centre section of the canopy come off due to a rail letting go. Found all the bits un damaged though so just a case of re attaching the rails a little better than I had. I was only about 3/4 throttle for the flight just to make sure everything was ok also left the gear down, not much footage as the sun was interfering with the camera. Cheers Steff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HNeY9FkpI4&list=UUQ5irRWxnwwtKDK-oncswKw&index=1&feature=plcp

RE: TBM 93
Yes the top part of the cylinder is threaded, so you just unscrew it, mine weren't that tight but use some grips if you need to. The plumbers tape works really well, I have used it on two different sets of air retracts & has worked on both sets, can be a bit of a pain getting the head back in but lube it up with some vas and once in seals up nicely, I have had air still in my system two days after pumping them up !!. Cheers.

RE: TBM 93
I removed the o rings on my retracts and wrapped thread tape (plumbers tape ) around the o ring grove then put the o rings back on.....was hard to get them back into the cylinder but once in there was no leaks . Used vaseline to lube o rings when re installing. Hopefully will have my Zero out again tomorrow morning & will try and get some video of it !. Cheers.

RE: TBM 93
Hi jasburrito congrates on the Zero , any vid or pictures of it at the warbird event. I have been away from the forum for a while so just catching up on everything and was supprised to see new posts on this thread. I had to belly my Zero in a couple of weeks ago due to a gear failure in the valve, luckily not alot of damage done. A hole in the wing centre where the belly tank was and a crushed oil cooler scoop, & one dead servo, repairs are almost finished then some paint touch ups to finish. The silk and glass resin is a pretty strong combination & it made the repairs quite easy to do as well. looking forward to seeing more of the Zeros. Cheers Steff.

RE: ESM Hawker Hurricane
I Have a Saito 200Ti in mine but I guess that would be two lottery wins [:o]. Great engine though heaps of torque, used the flexi pipes so no exhaust poking out anywhere had to open up the bottom of the cowl for cooling....sounds pretty good to. Cheers. My utube channel has a few vids of the Hurricane with the 200Ti http://www.youtube.com/user/psjdb?feature=mhee

RE: Gee Bee R-1
Heres how I did my landing gear on my Seagull GeeBee Z, seems to work well the rear brace wire stops most of the flex to the rear and the dampened strut stops most of the bounce. Will post a very short Vid I made up yesterday for my son, I was flying the Z and he grabbed the video camera, his first attempt at videoing one of my planes. After editing about 4 to 5 minutes of it, I ended up with about 1.5 minutes of usable footage, not to bad an attempt considering how excited he gets. Funny looking at the world through his eyes. Not up to your vid standards rowdog may have to get your missus over to video mine [;)] Ha !.

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
Hey peter had a dead stick on the Gt80 yesterday very scary...Not alot of crap in the filter but because it's a cartridge type enough I guess to snuff out two cylinders. posted a short vid of it on utube ..the sound you dont want to hear from your 80cc. RE: TBM 93
Cheers 2walla, well put in the third flight on Sunday & almost ended in disaster, after a barrel roll the engine just cut , no missing or burbling, luckily the Zero glides really well & when she cut I was just past the end of the strip so a quick turn on to finals & she landed short of the strip but perfectly smooth & was able to dodge the crap so no damage what so ever. Have a cartridge type filter which is very fine & had some rubbish in it not a lot but enough I guess to starve two cylinders. A very short vid of the engine cut out ..R18 language though Ha ![;)]. RE: TBM 93
Well, finally my new spinner turned up, so spent the last few nights Stripping it back to the bare Aluim ( it was for an FW190 with a spiral pattern ) quite a few coats of zinc paint & silver & alot of wet & dry sanding then the green & grey/green & I have come up with a result that I'm really happy with. Cheers Steff.

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
Hey Dave , the flexi pipe was from Christian Traders, the black stuff is a product called rescue tape it is a silicone based tape that is fuel & acid proof & rated to 260 Deg C I have about 1.5 " of header inside the flexi pipe so more of a back up ..first used gasket sealer on the pipe & then the rescue tape as a back up & to help with flex vibration etc. I made the headers up myself using some aircon fittings from work, at first thought they may restrict the flow a little but are working perfectly. The vid is a little over the top as I was pretty excited to get this one up, but if you forward to the half way piont you'll catch the second flight. [;)]. RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
Hey Dave long time since we crossed paths, I,ve fitted a GT80 to my Zero and mounted it vertically, made up some exhaust headers & got some flexi exhaust tube so I could have them exiting in a scale location, also did the electronic ignition mod with plug adapters so I could use the CM6 plug/HT boots which allowed me to cowl the engine with out cutting it up. I,m running a hover 22X10 at 7400 RPM, only two flights done so far & really happy with the engine, no vibration very smooth throttle response & really pulls the Zero through the air. Loaded a vid on utube of the first flights if you havn't seen it, second flight I opened the GT80 up & she was moving out, alittle deceiving on the vid as theres not a lot in the vid to reference the speed off (alot of flat red dirt out here ), But another guy filmed it on his iphone & you get a better sense of the speed it was doing. Cheers Steff.

WW1 aircraft display Wanaka 2012 Vid
For my Anzac contribution this year I posted a short vid on utube of the WW1 aircraft display on the 07 04 2012 at Warbirds over Wanaka. Weather was perfect, unfortunately I forgot my tripod but came out ok I think. I posted on the warbirds thread but as there is more interest in WW1 birds on this thread I also posted here. Drove for 15 hours to get home & get it done before midnight. Hope you enjoy it. Some of the WW2 aircraft & Jet's to come !!. Steff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVeIJU8DDR8
