RE: Remote control Tx/Rx
There are no Tx/Rx upgrades for HL tanks. They don't use a conventional receiver but a board. The only way to use a hobby grade Tx/ Rx on an HL tank is to use an El-mod or DBC system. And of course the Tamiya system.

RE: Slightly disappointed by Mato Sherman
I believe that i have decided to install all tamiya electronics in my Sherman. With the cost of converting it to electronics that will support one of the available battle systems, I can buy and install the Tamy guts for about the same price. anyone thinking about going this route?

RE: N.J. Tankers sound off!!
Duca, I'm just a few minutes south of you in Florence, so if you would like we could get together sometime. I'm definately going to be involved with the club. the field will only be about an hour and a half from us, so that is relatively close considering the distance that some tankers out west must travel. I'll shoot you a PM.

RE: N.J. Tankers sound off!!
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/queenspanzergroup/ Here's a link to the old group name. It is changing to the North East Armored Division. N.E.A.D. Bob Held will be incharge of it. You guys are all within shouting distance almost. I'm 1.5 hours away but still plan to get very involved. It should be a good group with all this interest. Bob and my self both use Tamiya and HL tanks so I dont think there will be any problems. I believe the battle systems will all have to be Tamiya compatible though. I think Bob would be glad to help any of you who would need to do a conversion with one of the after market systems available.

RE: HL RX18 electronics in Mato Sherman?
no the KV-1 has a new sound . the other HL tanks all have the radial engine sound since the KV-1 was a diesel engine. i guess if you tried to get a KV-1 Rx 18 you would get the deisel sound, but I dont know of anyone who sells the KV-1 Rx board as a KV-1 board.

RE: N.J. Tankers sound off!!
Yellowshaker there is a club in the Paramus area. It is now called the North East Armored Division. It used to be th QueensPanzer Gruop from NYC. That may be why you havent been able to find it. I am in the process of joining this club as are a few friends of mine. Bob Held is the moderator/ leader of the new group and he is known as Thecommandernj.on this forum. You can still find the Queens Pasnzer Group in the Yahoo groups section. Myself and my friend Dave will be helping Bob put together a new web site for the N.E.A.D. so in the future it will be much easier to find. You can pm me and I will give you my e-mail and phone # if you like and we can talk. Maybe even get together with our tanks. The N.E.A.D. is the best chance of a club setting that you will find in our area and Bob has been at this a long time so I have every confidence that it will be successful.

if the output shafts on the gearboxes are too long then you must have the wrong gearboxes. Mine all went in perfectly. Still cant see any other reason

I have the metal hull and early metal road wheels with the metal HL sprockets , idlers and tracks and I have no problem with alignment. Are you sure the idlers are fit all the way on? Cant think of any other reason for the problem, need picks.

RE: Question about radio system
One of the reasons is there maybe someone using a72 controlling another unit (plane) in the area you are in and your Tx may cause there unit (plane) to lose control due to your Tx's input, which may cuase a crash and possibly an unsafe condition for real aircraft in the area. Not likely to happen but possible. It is to prevent uncontrolled runaways. the possibility of getting caught is minimal, the Penalties are far from minimal. I sucks not being able to use such a nice radio but I believe Futtaba has a trade in/up program in place, so you may be able to get a really good deal on an 2.4 Gig radio. Then you can use the same radio for as many models and type of models as you wish. The receivers are bound to the TX. 1 radio, as many receivers as you want.

Looks great TJ. I always thought the 1:18 scale figures looked more correct. I have a handfull my self. makes me wonder if our tanks are actually 1:16 scale since the 1:18 stuff matches better IMO.

Are those bogie wheels the Tamiya wheels. They look like the same color as the Tamiya hull and they look smaller and more too scale in these photos. Second question , can you buy just the Tamiya bogie wheels by themselves?

RE: Question about radio system
It is illegal to use a 72 mhz radio on a surface type vehicle in the United states. you must use a 75 FM or 27 AM and there might be one more but I'm not positive. I am sure of the fact you cant use the 72 on the ground.

RE: Sherman at the YHR shops
Oh and not all of the 76's had a muzzel brake. the first series used a counter wieght on the end of the barrel. you could make this out of a simple piece of brass or aluminum tubing just large enough to slide over the end of the barrel. i think that may be the way I go.

RE: Sherman at the YHR shops
YHR cutting off the outer barrel just made the whole look of this tank for me. I knew that would make an improvement. I was just worried about the airsoft gun spitting out the inner barrel on recoil ,any issue with this? And the window frosting really looks good too. The only other mod I may do is lower the Turret thr way Bubba had worked out. quite easy from the pictures he has posted. Makes a world of difference.
