RE: 8.4 Nimh vs. 7.4 LIPO
Most of the stuff I see on the semi "all 50 miles away" local tracks are slow and sluggish if they run 2's on a 1/10 scale its barely any different than the old brushed crap. I wont let my 7 year old son run 2's if hes showing off his RC,In my opinion 3's is very similar to nitro and if you can't handle it then where is the fun in the hobby ? unless its almost uncontrollable :)

RE: 8.4 Nimh vs. 7.4 LIPO
Dump the VXL system get yourself something different and run 3 or 4 cell , 2 cell in slash seems like it would be slow and sluggish might as well go brushed.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Always wanted to try that set up in my Firestorm Wanna Be .....sounds awesome. I'm so in love with my Baja 5bss,I have been spending about 200+ a week at DDM for the last month I just ordered a Turtle Racing complete clutch system,Front and Rear shock towers, DDM Dominator Fast Pipe 7500rpm clutch spring and a few other items. Might buy a motor from a local guy who sells hopped up 4 pole 7.5 hp polished engines for 550 Bucks soon. Nitro did you make that track? all the tracks near me are at least 50 miles and filled with nerd assholes who have never seen a a women naked,so I'm convinced I'm going to have make my own track on some land my folks own outsides the city with no noise ordnance for the Baja "yes its as loud as a 150cc dirt bike" been busy clearing the land and have old tires my father had laying around for the outside ring. Going to try and get others to join me their.

Did you have to cut down the kimbrough like I did so it could fit with CF upper brace? its my sons car so.I'm going to keep the upper brace for the strength.

RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight
Ok enough is enough after a week of keeping this POS in the house I took it out to drive in the dry grass, after the first pulse of power it broke a shock tower under its own power and blew the steering servo. Ive never seen such poor quality from a name brand product needless to say Horizon will be hearing from me tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'm going to bother buying a upgraded steering servo for this pos.....will probably sell it and all the upgrades I've bought on craigslist for 150$.

RE: 1st rc car for 7-yr old boy
I just bought my 7 year old son a Losi Mini 8ight,and after the first bump it broke into pieces!!!. Lucky their was a lot of forum and Youtube info to help me find ofna and traxxas stuff to replace the cheap losi items. Horizen hobby is sending me upgraded parts for free soon as their available :) sqeaky wheel gets the grease. I would buy your son a stadium truck something tough and easy to repair.

RE: HPI 1/5 Flux SCT???
Well in upstate NY I can't get a "good" pair of tires off craiglist for less than 75$ "I did get a great pair of studded snow treads for that but needed another 40 for mounting and balancing" you cant possibly being talking about new good tires for a decent car for less than Baja tires???. I spent $50 bucks on my sons Losi Mini 8ight for "sweeps" for on road driving. All in all 1/5 is not much more expansive and if you have the room just seems to get more interest in none RC people which is always good for the hobby, the more the merrier.

RE: HPI 1/5 Flux SCT???
ORIGINAL: SyCo_VeNoM
ORIGINAL: phmaximus That is so cool (1/5 kit for the savage flux) and its soo cheap... I was expecting the kit to be over $300. Hows those Savage 5t are $900 here and the Savage X is $650 but the 1/5 scale body is over $200 WOW thats a expensive body
anything 1/5th scale is expensive... like the tires on a baja cost almost as much as the tires on my damn car I drive to work...
What kinda shitty car do you drive to work ?. I have never spent less than 300 dollars on a pair of good car tires. Baja 5b is can be less expansive than any good 1/8 scale electric if done both are done correctly,so far Ive got less than 900 dollars on my Baja Including RPM A-arms,killer bee kill switch and a pair of on road back tires. My Radiopost RX/TX came with 2 receivers so I use it with my 1/8 scale"Caster F8T" and Baja 5b best radio on the market if you ask me. I honestly think 1/5 scale can be as cheap as good 1/8 scale and once you go 1/5 you'll never go back ...unless your Nitro-rob.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Darksides - Now that I have the white parts installed I love the way the look might slowly change it all over. Nitro - Yeah just got a Baja 5bss ..Im love building it ,its quite simple to build! much more so than any of my Nitro I have owned and the size only makes it easier. So far my upgrades Include a full set of RPM a-arms,killer Bee kill switch, and a Team Fast Eddy Pipe clamp. Anything you suggest I get ??? I tried the gaint car forums but it seems dead and DDM seems awesome. Ive gotta update my model's my sons Losi Mini 8ight which needs "upgraded shocks and steering servo outta the box",Caster F8T HK which is BY FAR my most expansive model 1/8 electric racers = $1500 to run properly and my Firestorm which I don't know about you guys but seems to handle better than 90% of the RC's out their Including models based on it like the Blitz, and now the amazing Baja.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I just ordered a bunch of the white blitz items to replace my broken parts,I don't wanna do the aluminum with plastic Ive seen that end in disaster to many times although carbon fiber is awesome. I like the looks of the white parts and can Dye it like my RPM Baja parts. Again I cant recommend the Viper system enough, not sure how I got a hold of one since A main and Tower haven't gotten them in yet.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
ORIGINAL: XxINLINExX So yesterday i got together with some friends to drive the R/c's around with some friends ( yes as you can already guess something was damaged....AGAIN!) We were having fun drinking a couple beers and driving the r/c cars.  My buddies Slash 4x4 could not keep up with me in a straight line but when it came down to turning the Firestorm light front end would make these really wide turns causing the slash to win in an up and back race. Were thinking of putting some stick on tire weights on the front of the Firestorm to see of that will improve the handling. My buddies Slash ran low on battery and mine was still going strong. So i handed over the Control so he can have his first experience driving it. Needless to say he was impressed. As he was taking it down the street for a high speed run the Firestorms lightweight body and lack of steering control led it right into the rear tire of a parked pick-up truck at full speed.... <img src=''http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32/Kreative_Imigez/Broken2.jpg''/> <img src=''http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32/Kreative_Imigez/Broken1.jpg''/> <img src=''http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32/Kreative_Imigez/Broken3.jpg''/> [:@][&:][:o] I'm hoping the two LHS that i have near by have these pieces in stock
LOL this same exact thing happened to my son yesterday while driving my Firestorm. What upgrade parts for the chassis can I buy to make this stronger ?

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Holy Shit this Viper 3900khv is fast on 3s I highly recommend this over any other combo below 200 dollars. Ive got a amazing video I need post on You tube of the Firestorm "3's" vs Losi Mini 8ight "3s" vs Caster FT8 Pro "6s" vs Baja 5b Turned pipe Oneal's Bro 8.5 hp ... lol all speed runs my sons mini 8ight always wins on take off and then Firestorm thermals was a ton of fun gotta show you guys. BTW the firestorm might have won if didn't wanna take off like a airplane "baja" wins.

RE: Baja 700$ or..
Its the F8T HK pro electric , I would pull my own hair out one at a time rather than run Nitro as a hobby I don't no how something that needs that much adjustment ever got popular. I'm worried that running a gas car around my neighbor hood would get a ton of complaints about my biggest gripe on 1/5 scale.

Baja 700$ or..
I can get a new still in box 2.0 Baja for $700 or I can finish my Caster F8T "which is way more expansive than I first thought" I never had anything bigger than a LST. I've got 10 Lipos sitting around waiting to be used and I really want an excuse to by a new Radiopost Radio but after seeing a 1/5th scale in action its hard to want anything else. This is the hardest RC choice Ive ever made probably should have just bought a HPI trophy truggy Flux. My wife is so gonna kill me lol

RE: King Motors Baja Review with pictures
These 1/5 scale are actually cheaper than my 1/8 caster F8T HK was "Truck 7075 aluminum 400$" "Tekin 1900Khv ESC/Motor 330$" ""JR Steering Servo 150$"RadioPost Radio 330$" Bulldog Body, Body Paint,3 and 4 mm countersink washers etc etc 100$ at the start. So that's 1310$ from the start either a Km 2.0 or T100 would be 400 dollars cheaper from the start + Id buy RPM A arms and back up steering servo and good down payment on a new motor.

RE: King Motors Baja Review with pictures
Really its kinda hard to choose cause I was gonna get the KM 2.0 but 99% of the time I can get a HPI Baja Kit for the same price , Radio wouldn't matter since ill put my Radiopost in it instantly. And from what Ive heard I would have to put in a new steering servo instantly... very hard decision.
