RE: Aircraft Damage Insurance
Here's an idea... Why not take the premiums you think you are going to pay, put them in a money market account.?? If you unfortunately have an accident, take the funds out and pay yourself for the loss. No money goes to an agent, adjuster, home office, cute spokesperson, no one telling you where to take it to get fixed etc. True, you won't get to pull you hair out talking to adjusters, the repair dude, or worrying if they store your unit inside or out in the elements. And the best of all, no impersonal company or high priced attorney gets any of your money. Voila'

RE: Hot Bodies LSP toughest fastest truggy ever ownz foolz
420 for the hot bodies is too much. I got a lighting stadium pro R for 320 plus 35 bux shipping last year. A friend of mine is selling his LSP Pro-R and should have sent you a PM. It's got about 250 bux worth of king headz upgrades. not sure what he wants for it but you would have a strong used truggy to work with. If you want to be a competitive racer then drop 600+ on a truggy. I'm looking at the mugen MBX5T prospec as my next truggy. its like 650 ATM. needless to say im holding off for a price drop. plus the hotbodies is working out fine for me.
ORIGINAL: 00nothing LOL okay jsut kidding but i figure since the kiddies use titles like this and get pages worth of info then maybe an old guy should try it to I am at whits end trying to decide what truggy to go with the starting list was as follows *all truggies are rtr versions* Losi 8ight-t (weeded out due to high price) GS XUT (parts issues) Kyosho Inferno ST Hot bodies lightning stadium sport As stated earlier I am going nuts on what to get I have basically narrowed it down to the kyosho $499.99 CDN at shop 30 mins drive from mey he carries all the parts but he is probably the only shop with a 200km radius that does OR the hot bodies $420.00 cdn which has awesome parts support at all the local shops but from what i have read needs some work to get it up to par with any of the other truggies Racing is what I am aiming for this yr but that being said I am not a very competetive guy to me its about being out with buddies drinking a few beers and having fun I also love being the underdog who wins what he deserves based on pure skill so I dont need the fastest truck on the track but what i do need is a truck i can rely on WHICH TRUCK DO YOU CHOOSE and less importantly why J/K
RE: Looking for some answers, getting back into Nitro Cars
that little pipe tip is called the stinger. mine breaks off alot too (caused by rollovers) since im using the stock pipe for the RS4 3 which is plastic. the car will still run like that but it will piss alot of oil inside the body which will probably run back onto the rear tire. get a metal pipe that fits your engine. you will be way better off. if the chasis is bent you can bend it back to straight. I've hit a few curbs and figured the chasis was toast. My buddy bent the thing back to straight. works good as new. going back to exhausts, mine allways leaks at the header. stupid bolt allways backs out. Im going to replace the stock header bolts with longer ones and use lock nuts. have fun with the car man :-)

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others
I've also been peeking into the R40 HARA parts bin. there is a 16 tooth pinion I would like to use for 1st link is here this gear would allow me to use the gold 21 toothed pinion for second gear :-) there is a mesh issue when using the 52 and 47 toothed tranny/spur gears. thats why i got a pinion color code mismatch. however if this 20 toothed gear link is here fits properly I should be able to use this 15 toothed pinion link is here for 1st :-) that would really be a kick in the pants for the RS4.

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others
has anyone tried to use the MT 2 ring and bevel gear combo in their RS4? stock RS4 is 36 and 14 teeth for the ring/bevel. The MT 2 is 38 and 13 for the ring/bevel. would going down a tooth on the bevel negate going up 2 teeth on the ring? I race my RS4 so need take off speed, not top end. I've already dropped 3 (gold 17 teeth) and 2 (purple 22 teeth) teeth on the pinons and gone with a 52 and 47 tooth combo in the tranny. the car still has more top end then I will ever need. Ideally I want the car to redline 2nd gear within 25 feet. then I can re-gear as needed for track layouts.

Hey guys I was looking at buying this pipe for my 18ss RS4 http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001229887&I=LXPNB9&P=K but the RD Logics and THS pipes seem better since they dont use the rubber tube with the tie straps. how do i know which one is for the 18ss? the details is always for "HPI RS4 .15 engines." like in the following pipe. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCPX4&P=7 can i use a pipe on an .18 that says its for a .15?? which pipes have you used. thx for any help. im ordering stuff soon from towerhobbies.

what color springs did you go with? are they hpi springs or made by someone else? My current setup is pretty sweet. car handles great with "Take Offs" tires. I think my rear sway is orange and not red. either way its not the purple or the green :-)
ORIGINAL: hpi apollo my car use to do that too, just had to change the springs and that was it
thanks for the help. i'm never sure which RDLogics or Vantage pipe are the right ones for the 18SS though. Plus 35 bux is better then paying 75+ gonna order the pipe this week and see how it does in a couple weeks when it shows up.
ORIGINAL: HeLLsGoD Yes definately will work with the 18ss. RE: RS4 Club Thread
I'm thinking of going with this 52 tooth gear in the tranny to replace the 47 toothed one. I would replace the 43 tooth gear with the 47. Currently I'm down 2 teeth on both pinions. 17/19 from 19/23. If I do this as planned It should really shorten the gears some more right? as in more 1/4 launch instead of top speed. I race and almost never see my second gear used. I just want to launch hard corner to corner and occasioanly see 2nd gear used on the short straights.

RE: pre-ordered a CX2 !:)
Thanks for the link. I've been reading ]RADD's and found it very helpfull. I also went and purchased a few aluminum up grades. Not sure if it was a good idea to get all of them. I bought an aluminum swash plate, aluminum lower rotor head set and an inner shaft with aluminum head/hub. I think the aluminum head will not allow the flybar to pop off when it crashes. This means the flybar will be breaking alot :-/ I shoulda prolly stuck with the stock inner shaft and head. The other two upgrades I like though. Together they all look real sweet though :-) edit: I forgot to plug the good people at www.myrcsupply.com They got pretty decent prices and are good folks to deal with in general [sm=thumbup.gif]

RE: pre-ordered a CX2 !:)
I just placed my pre-order on a CX-2 :-) After all the reading and contemplation of CP Pro or CX-2, I decided the CX-2 was the simplest and most cost effective way to go. Thanks to everyone here in this thread and others that helped me decide by offering plenty of info.

RE: CP or CX
ORIGINAL: mdbuehler The CX is great for this, especially for learning the controls when the helicopter is coming at you. If you start to screw up, just release the right stick and it goes back to a hover. With the CP, release the right stick and it augers into the ground :)
Why would the CP crash instead of hover like the CX? Can't it be trimmed to be more neutral? I can understand a more capable heli responding quicker then the novice can control, thereby resulting in a crash. but why would the CP be so unstable??? I'm planning to follow the proceeding advice.
I would suggest getting a blade cp pro and then buying a stock blade cp head and taking the bell hiller off.
If you have all your trim set right and lift off, will this heli not simply hover? I read someones post who mentioned if you let go of the right stick the choper will drop oout of the sky?? I'm having a tough time deciding weather I should go Blade CX-2 or the CP pro. Are the electronics on the Pro better then the CX-2?

RE: What Exactly Does the Heat Sink DO?!
As most people know the color black absorbs more heat. It's like a doorway though that can release more heat too. My uncle is a mechanic and told me once people would paint their engines black to keep them running cooler. I'm talking about old style cast iron V8 engine blocks. The new fangled aluminum engines dont need the extra help.

RE: Eflite Blade CX
I'm looking to buy a Blade CX but 10 miutes of fun time isnt enough. I'm planning to buy a couple spare battery packs, but was wondering if there are any decent chargers that can charge 2 or more packs at once? On this site http://helihobby.com/html/helicopter_chargers.html there are a couple decent looking chargers that arent pricey. I like the DC 2-3 Cell Li-Po Balancing Charge for $29.99 and the CSR Li-Poly Balancing Charger $89.95 Is the more expensive charger the way to go for battery safety and longevity? Or do I need to buy 1 or more stock chargers for 20 bucks?

RE: rear wheel savage
After busting a diff my buddies savage is real rear drive now. It does seem a little quicker then before. The front is quite light and skims the surface under full throttle. One big plus is that you wont bend the front dog bones to the wheels when the truck does cart wheels.

RE: Unbroken diff
I checked that screw last night and its still lock-tited on [:D] Like I stated before, it's a phenomena. I have bashed in the same spot the whole year. The only real difference last saturday was that; 1. The dirt was more damp after plenty of rain the previous days. 2. I had been quite liberal with the grease on the pinion and ring gears.

RE: Helfire
Ok, fair enough then. I guess I was just so impressed with the speed and nimble handling of a truggy/buggy, that I took for granted the brutishness of the savage. I was seriously tempted to sell my savage for a truggy this winter. Most likely I will just make some mods to the savae instead. It will cost me less and at least I know what I have.

RE: Helfire
Why is a truggy no good for bashing? I went to an RC track/race last month and was amazed at what abuse truggys and buggys can take. Half hour mains with more jumps and bumps then where I bash my savage. Heck, one kid kept winning races and was bumping up to the next main. he went over an hour straight tearing up the track with a buggy. Then when the monster trucks came out it was like watching turtles walk around the track. That was only when they didnt break(mostly the revos lol. but they are quick though). If I had attended that event before buying my savage I would never have made the purchase. I'm only a noob but I know what i seen [:)]

Unbroken diff
So I'm out bashing this past Saturday with a couple friends. I lose power to the rear wheels and figure, oh well there goes the rear diff. I take the truck apart, and see loads of dirt and grime in the 13 Tooth Pinion and 43 tooth ring gears. I pop out the diff and see that the cups spin freely. The diff was fine but wouldn't spin due to all the dirt. How the heck did the rear diff seize but the truck still drive? I thought this circumstance would result in a permanent brake scenario. On another note my buddy's truck did seize the front diff. the spider gears are mashed potatoes. I suggested he remove the diff, he did and also popped out the 2 front dog-bones. he ran his savage with rear wheel drive and looked faster and much more prone wheelie and go airborne. was very cool[:D] BTW, does anyone run the 13 tooth pinion and 43 tooth ring gear without grease? I'm thinking the grease helped attract and keep the dirt on the teeth.
