Not sure if this is problem.
I had two different items sold last night. Sometime after 7:30pm I don't get any e-mails from RCU. My account settings are set to all "yes" on receiving. I didn't get notification for an Offer came in. After accepting two offers, I sent invoice from RCU. None of the buyers or myself got any of that invoices. I sent twice, but none. yet. Any idea??

RE: Piorun Python
I don't remember if there was more than one version of Python. Also not sure if it belongs to Classic. You might want to look for guys in NorthWest. (Washington/Montana/Oregon/Idaho) Back in 90s there were a lot of Pythons there. Rick Allison is one that you may get help from. Not sure if he is still active. Dennis Cone & Bill Bowen in Tri Cities. Others in Creswell, OR. Some in Seattle, WA area should know well about the Python. You will want to post in regular pattern forum. Hope this helps, Ihncheol

RE: Pattern plane for saito 72
Just don't use APC14x8 on that Saito 72. It is the largest prop you can use on Saito 72, but I don't think it will handle well without 30% nitro. Also, there isn't enough ground clearance with stock gear on Oxalys 50. Either planes will do ok with Saito 72. Both were designed around YS63. Oxalys 50 was for YS63, Osmose was for YS63S. Add additional support for LG block. Check for fuselage straightness before start building. I've been waiting for a replacement fuselage for Osmose since May. No luck.

RE: 60 to 90 Size F3A Pattern Kit or ARF
If you don't mind building a laser cut kit, look for a Pilot Seduction 90 kit. You can modify to have it fixed gear also. Pipe tunnel isn't a problem with it since it is a kit. One piece wing with plug-in stab. It was designed for OS 91FX with stock muffler, but the plan shows YS91 with pipe also. If you build light, you can use the plane for some 3D. I have one in my collection of kits. Ihncheol

JRPSZ9100HVS osciliating under load
I have question to those using JRPSZ9100HVS High voltage High speed digital servo. Do you have any problem with servos osciliating about 1/32" under load? When I try to push or turn the servo arm (putting load on it), it osciliates a little. It also has clicking sound. not just one, but all three of them does. 9100HVT doesn't seems to do this. Ihncheol

Mike, if you need to use MK type mounts, look for Go model in Japan. it works a whole lot better. RE: YS 110 DZ Fuel Choice
ORIGINAL: petec The 1.10 was available in the FZ and the FZ-S, with the S variant having the regulator on the pushrod tube. As for needing 30% nitro, you do not need it but it will make your life easier. I have been using 20% in my YS engines forever but if you use 30% nitro they are easier to set as the sweet spot on the needles get broader and you will pick up some power. Make sure what ever fuel you run has 20% oil content and either a YS #4 or an OS #F plug.
110S also has a crankshaft ring as it was in the 140L. So, it has a little more power than YS110FZ. I wouldn't run 15% on YS 4-stroke unless it is mounted upright & fully exposed. I mounted one inverted incowl and tried running 15%. Absolutely a bad idea. Coolpower 30% Heli is only around $28 ~ $30.00. Most use this fuel because of low-viscosity oil. All other Coolpower are high viscosity. Not sure if Morgan Fuels changed any, but that's what I use on all YS. Also, if you plan on running the stock muffler, make sure to get copper exhaust O-ringr/Gasket that comes with current Hatori header (it fits between the crankcase and exhaust header nut). or any other copper O-ring/Gasket for old Hatori flex header (it fits inside the exhaust port). It comes loose a lot without the copper O-ring. Hope this helps, Ihncheol

RE: Kyosho Osmose 70, Sort of build thread (slow..)
SynergyPilot, You will need a lot of throttle management since FS110 will be way over powered for the plane. Stock gear may not have enough ground clearance for anything longer than 13". (stock setup is 13x6) I am using Bolly F3A carbon gear on mine that is taller than stock. It may become too fast even for landing since the FS110 will need at least 13x9 or higher pitch. You may want to beef up the LG plate mounting also. Good luck,

RE: NEW Fliton Inspire 90 Pattern Plane
Volkert, I finally flew at a local contest for Intermediate class. Couldn't do very well, but NOT because of the plane. I had total of 6 practice flights before the contest. So far, I feel that the Inspire is good plane, but a built with a little too soft balsa. I bounced on landing downwind/crosswind causing 4 cracks on the left side of the fuse (mostly on balsa sheeting and one on the LG bulkhead). If you hold the wing a little hard, leading edge gets dinged up. Mine still needs more trimming as I think it is still tail heavy as my down elevator during inverted (level/45 degree) is a littl too sensitive (45% expo). There was another Inspire with OS120AX (stock muffler) at the contest. That plane didn't have any mixing. Not exactly sure if it was not necessary at all or it was built better. The pilot told me he doesn't have any mixing in use. It definitely was designed for electric power since we can't put the fuel tank on CG at all. I even thought about modifying the hatch to move the tank over the wing tube. Ihncheol

RE: NEW Fliton Inspire 90 Pattern Plane
Joe Contragulation on excellent results at contests! I will be flying the Inspire at Fort Scott this weekend for Intermediate class. I got mine trimmed out almost. I still need to fine tune a little more this week. This plane flys very smooth. However, it is a little fast to my flight style, so I will have to work on the prop this week. Wing does require incidence. I adjusted the incidence on Sunday after each flight. I think it now has about 1.5 degrees of positive incidence. However, I have a couple click of down trim and a little too much (about 2.5 ~ 3 degrees of down thrust by one washer). Elevator to Rudder mixing is necessary for straight knife edge. For knife edge loop, it requires full rudder for the 2nd half of the loop. First half was possible with a little more than 3/4 throttle and low rate of rudder. For the intermediate, this plane will do just fine. Volkert, Thank you very much for the help. Without your pictures on engine mounting and explanation on wing adjusters, it would have been ugly. I tapped the wing for 1/4" nylon screw as it has less # of thread than metric screws. So far 6 flights went without any problems. I will post final pictures of the plane this weekend. I may peel all the covering and recover during the winter if I have enough time. YES IT IS BUILDING TIME!! I have a Brio 2m to build and 2 of Sword 2m to assemble (not very good). Ihncheol

RE: NEW Fliton Inspire 90 Pattern Plane
Joe, It sounds like you may have nose heavy plane and your plane doesn's have wing incidence as some of ours. Have you tried Knife Edge Loop yet? I tried Knife Edge vertical S. Since I have rudder to aileron and rudder to elevator, it was a little hard to get the Knife edge loop. I think the plane is capable of knife edge vertical 8. It will be easier with correct incidence added. I don't have a lot of Bolly left. only a couple of them.[:D] 8000mAh is way more than enough. I usually fly 7 or 8 minutes and lands with 1/3 of fuel left over (450cc fuel tank right now). Ihncheol

Volkert, Where did you set the datum or reference line? I am trying to figure out if horizontal stab was mounted incorrectly. Did you add any down thrust? RE: NEW Fliton Inspire 90 Pattern Plane
Joe got the landing gears from me..[:D] It is Bolly F3A Curved. Volkert, I have a question to ask. Do you remember what angle your Inspire had after finish building? Mine seems to have positive incidence on horizontal stab. so it's like near 0 on wing and postive 1 or 2 on horzontal stab and probably 1.5 down thrust right now. Not sure how much wing incidence I will end up with, but I will start with 0.5 degrees and see what happens. It has been very windy to fly the untrimmed plane so far. Also, do you think it's possible to move the tank over the CG? I am looking for a new fuel tank so that I can put the fuel tank over the wing tube (CG). Ihncheol

RE: Setting up a radio
tIANci, no, I don't always use ailerons for spin. I did spin with rudder/elevator only before. Then, googled aerobatic manuevers. Some plane spins without any aileron inputs. Some do better with ailerons. Just try with and without the aileron and see. You may have to adjust the amount of the aileron depending on the plane you fly. Take a look at following http://www.faa.gov/library/manuals/aircraft/airplane_handbook/media/faa-h-8083-3a-3of7.pdf Page 4-13 Spin description. http://www.rc-airplane-world.com/more-rc-airplane-aerobatics.html Lots of things to learn.[>:] Just don't have enough time to memorize and do all. RE: Setting up a radio
tIANci, If the plane needs differential for the aileron, I mostly keep it. Not sure if it affects the spin since spin is also a rotation along the longitudinal axis. If it doesn't roll well, it will look like a barrel roll isn't it? Renegade, I found the article Bryan wrote. I couldn't find the article here at RCU. I thought it was here. So I had to look for it at home including K-factors and NSRCA discussion list. It took a while searching the NSRCA-list. I still don't remember which issue of K-Factor has it. Inspire have been setup as 0-0-0 from the factory and I am about the add the wing adjusters to increase the incidence. Hope it reduces the amount of the mixing down to nearly none. Ihncheol

RE: Setting up a radio
tIANci, On my BeatOn, I have rudder/elevator mix on by default (activated without being assigned to a switch). On my Inspire, I have to leave it on a switch because the plane behave differently at Knife edge. I am still in the middle of trimming, so the mix will change a little later. I am trying to trim for the minimal mixing as others. Aileron Differential is on alway (not on a switch). Rudder/Elevator mixing maybe on a switch or permanently on. Throttle/elevator mixing. I think it has to be about the thrust/incidences, not just the CG. 0-0-0 may be necessary to have this mixing. Ihncheol
ORIGINAL: wagen017
ORIGINAL: okelly Thanks for the info volkert. Let us know how the trimming goes. Ofir
So finally today I had a chance to fly again. It has been pretty cold here. I moved both servo's from the tail to servo tray just behind the wing tube. I installed pull-pull for both elevators and rudder. I also installed the Gator wing adjusters and increased the wing incidence from 0 to 0,5 degrees. Knife Edge performance improved significantly! When flying from left to right (canopy towards me) it now is straight! No more mix. Flying from right to left it pulls a bit to the canopy. For now I mixed this away. My upline is straight. A bit of pull to the canopy on the downline. It was still pretty cold here so I didn't spend too much time on it. All in all an improvement none the less! Volkert
Volkert, Would you please post a picture of how you are holding the wing panels after installing the wing adjusters? I am in the very similar situation. Knife edge flights has opposite elevator problem. So far, I added approximately 1 degree of down thrust. My is YS110S on Hyde mount with Hatori header & YS63 muffler. I can do most of the US/AMA Intermediate sequence under 2/3 throttle. Replaced the canopy with cut down Hangar 9 Showtime 90 canopy. If I can pull it out, I will replace it again with Showtime 50 canopy with very little cut down. Thanks, Ihncheol
