RE: OS FS26???
I had mine on a Junior 60 and on a .25 trainer. Good match to both airframes, although overpowering the J60 [:D]

Question regarding magneto locating pin on Homie 33
Hi all. I have this Homie 33 that I removed new from a chainsaw a year or so ago and haven't run yet. I recall removing the flywheel magneto, and for some reason remove the locating cast boss/key with a dremel tool from it. My question: being a tapered crank fit, the boss serves only for locating the timing right, right? I'd love to have the bugger running... Thanks ;)

RE: OS .70FL carburetor adjustment
Have you removed the HSN when cleaning the carb and inspected for any clogging? One thing that comes up to mind is the o-ring on the head where the carb fits in to may need to be renewed, and is leaking air. Another cause might be a faulty glowplug. Are the oil and pressure vent line connected at the right nipples?

It's a Kyosho, manufactured by Sanye (Magnum, ASP, SC are the company's other brands).

RE: ASP160 Twin
Pour some into the breather nipple with the pistons on the down stroke with a syringe. That way the oil can enter the crankcase pushing the pistons upwards. You can bet it is a sweety, I absolutely love mine[8D]

RE: Thunder Tiger 4 stroke engines...any good?
All my ASP (Magnum/SC/Sanye) thumpers have bronze valve guides/seats and fully ballraced camshafts. Engines are the .30, .52 and .91. I can assure the cylinders on these are also plain steel, no chrome on Sanye's ringed engines. Regarding the topic, I wouldn't mind getting myself a TT .75 or .91 for my personal collection, from what I've been reading here over the years, they seem to be ok.

RE: OS .70FL
You need to follow the manual, as I don't recall well enough to inform you correctly. http://manuals.hobbico.com/osm/fl-70-manual.pdf The system works really well, if one runs the engine on a stand oil is clearly visible being ingested by the crankcase from the muffler. Some early engines used a sealed rear bearing, check to see if yours' one; if so, remove the shielding to let the oil flow through properly.

RE: OS .70FL
This little 4-stroke came out early this last decade. It was designed on the LA principle: cheap sport four-stroke. But it's beatifull in design :) Internally it has the same dimensions of the Surpass 70, but has an ABC cylinder-liner and bushed camshaft bearings, like the FS-26/FS-30. I have one and like it, the exhaust note is a bit different from other 4-strokes, but you can only start it with an electric starter; at least mine happens to be so, very very tight pinch at the top. Just don't forget to plug the lubrication lines properly to lube the internals. [image]http://www.os-engines.co.jp/english/2004autumn/2004spring/fl70/images/fl70_img.jpg[/image]

RCU's Glow engine forum is actually a large "Club 2-stroke" when you look closer. I'd say 99% of us cut our teeth on 2-strokes as first engine.

RE: Conversion to Glow
One more thing: nowadays is increasingly difficult to find planes for classes lower than a .46. You either have to build or design one yourself. On the other hand, there's plenty of readily available electrics equivalent to .049, .10 or .25 displacements. With proper reinforcement in key areas, namely firewall, we, oily hands, have opened up an area that's has been put aside these past years, that of low displacement glow powered airplanes. [8D]

Yes, a .25 will be the ticket for your Pitts, but remember to beef the firewall area quite a bit. Don't forget to post the flight report!

RE: Gasoline Rotary Engine from Thunder Tiger NEW!
I would very much like to hear this baby run and know the estimated retail price. A shop I used to go used to have an OS 30 Wankel, beautifull piece of engineering, but super expensive, unfortunately. If I had the dough, I wouldn't care about fuel consumption, not everyone has a baby-Mazda engine on their shelf.[8D] @3136, not worth opening up the wound, mate.
