RE: Painted the inside of my boat
The bed liner is the only paint I have used that wouldn't lift over time. Also it will hide sloppy or botched glass work to some degree. Laquer or the epoxy appliance paints are going to chip and lift - maybe not at first but eventually. I sprayed bed liner in my drag cat and it has been very durable with no problems. Of course like anything, surface prep is key.

You don't need pressure. You can plug the vent line if you want to or run a line back to your gas tank off the vent, your choice.

RE: needle help
Your needles are too lean. I always have an extra carb and some diaphrams with me. Keeps the day being a bust. Also swapping diaphrams or a carb out will help you easily troubleshoot the problem and keep the day fun. Find out what your needle settings are and adjust in very small increments. My buddy always wants to make huge changes and he is always frustrated by how his boat is running. He finally learned last weekend and was rewarded with a 66 mph pass with his Conquest.[:D]

I do some the same thing as dicko. You can have your engine too cool as well which adversely effects performance. Tony at WHH told me once that if you can put your hand on the cooling head for a quick count of 3, everything is ok.

RE: Falcon Cat Video Ran 71.7mph today
I think the 2716 is the best prop for this hull. My best speeds were with a round tip 2716/15 degree (71 and change). The 20 I had did not have enough lift and was constantly blowing off. It was a star tip. If you round/cup the prop this will further reduce the lift. My Drag Cat likes a H50. My Falcon was fast with the H50 but not as fast as the 2716 This was my experence. Hopefully yours will be different. if you are after speed, blow offs are inevitable - not the end of the world [;)] Good Luck

RE: Falcon Cat Video Ran 71.7mph today
hope you have better luck with the 20 degree rake than I did. It doesn't have as much lift and you may have a greater tendency to blow off.

RE: Falcon Cat Video Ran 71.7mph today
Nice. That's the way it should run. If you had room for a longer roll out, your speed might be a little faster. Have you tried it with the cowl on? I assume you are running the 2716/2 round 15 degree?

RE: 41 Falcon set up
If your needles are too rich, the hot pipe will make a mess in the boat. Too much prop will as well. I typically don't look at my plugs. If I am too lean or too rich, speed will fall off. My sensai tells me that as the weather cools, the settings need to be richer > cooler air means more air in the carb which means more fuel necessary. My best speeds have been in cooler temps -> mid 40's

RE: 41 Falcon set up
The pipe you use is really going to depend on the motor. I agree, the boat does not need a large torque band especially if you are running saw. I have gone over exclusively to Hot Pipes. They are light and easily adjustable. They also give you a good indication if your needles are right.

Chris/Dasboata did an Aeromarine ProCat with twin toxics. You can see the project under project builds over on Jim's as well as vids. It's quite a handful.

RE: I need help with a parts list for my sprint cat
I don't know if I agree with the statement on pick ups. Some will produce more drag than others but I don't know if you would see a DRASTIC difference. It will be more about what effect the pick up will have on tracking. I am running a single p/u rudder with a prop blast on my drag cat and I run in the low 70's with no problem. Your best option for a pick up is a flush mount placed in the left sponson as far back as it will go. For a pipe, I would recomend a Hot pipe from Red line Motors. As far as motors go, well that will be determined by how much you want to spend. The motor will determine your CG. More HP...higher CG assuming you are setting the boat up for SAW. I cut my cowls in half so as to let the motor breathe and pipe exit is a no brainer then but some people don't like the look. Take your advice from one person and one person only or you will get very confused and there is one person on this forum who is an authority on the Sprint and I think we all know who he is[;)]

RE: I need help with a parts list for my sprint cat
Typically, the rudder is placed on the right side of the drive on a cat. I usually will also offset my drive 3/16-1/4 inch to the right to counter prop walk. I would do a search on here as well as on JRCBD for pics to guide you. I would pay careful attention to builds done by Tahoe 1970. He has built quite a few of these and has run them in the high 70's to low 80's with a zen 260

RE: I need help with a parts list for my sprint cat
Call CC or Aeromarine and get the kit. Sounds like you have limited building experience (no offense). save yourself some headaches and do a simple conventional build at first. Save the road less traveled for later. Are you talking about something like an S6 stern drive for the Sprint? or something else? If so just stick with the strut. Sounds like you are interested in doing more of a scale build - the Sprint is more of a race boat. Hope you enjoy your project[:)]

RE: replace stringers on sprint cat or not
I would fill them with West and microfibers rather than removing/reinstalling them. Then I'd paint the inside of the boat with bed liner after you have redrilled your holes. I have found oversized holes in the stringers are not really a problem anyway. If the existing holes work with your mounts, you could leave them.

RE: 41 Falcon cat
Did you not put the lead tire weights on the outside of the hull in the tunnel? Remember, I'm running one of these with a Quick Draw which has a little more grunt in it even than the SS. If you don't disrupt some of the air going into the tunnel, you will have blow offs at high speed. You can play with CG and strut settings all day long but until you do this you are going
