RE: AD Scorpion Mk2 just arrived: assembly thread.
Oli, This will be very interesting as those big inlets seem to be the source of the pain on this airframe in respect to drag. Making use of all that air coming in to the fuse should really help. Will be keeping an eye on this. PaulD [quote]ORIGINAL: olnico [quote]ORIGINAL: smchale Oli, Nice idea with the full bypass. Another advantage will be the reduced risk of FOD entering the turbine

RE: CARF Siai Marchetti
I picked up a Turboprop power plant and was convinced it needed to be a Tucano but after seeing this thread I'm leaning hard in this direction. ESP since I can build the 260 version and have the exhausts out the side. Hey, it's a Turboprop and u gotta show off the pipes! Thanks for all the photsos and picts guys. PaulD

RE: Ultra Flash pilots
John @ MAP makes a wing tank conversion with a new tank that "hangs" under the fuse but fits into the wing cavity. Since the tank remains with the airframe you can plumb in whatever configuration you like and dont have to mess with connections. http://www.modelaviationproducts.com/contact.html PaulD

RE: Smoke oil pump rate?
I run about 12 oz per minute thru a single stainless nozzle with the end crimped flat over a blade tip. Have a bit of a mix so the smoke pump increases with throttle somewhat. It is harder to get the dense smoke with higher speeds. Smoke fluid is form oil with some additives or I have even just run diesel with some light oil added to help it "hang". http://vimeo.com/26703755 PaulD

RE: Arming Auto Spoiler...
What about adding a mix over-ride so when the throttle is above a preset value of something like 50% the system resets and the spoiler retracts. Would solve the go-around problem. PAulD

RE: Performance proportional electric braking now a reality!
Damn impressive braking. Prolly more than the average air based system, plus, as long as you keep your battery charged, the braking performance will likely remain consistent vs air decreasing with each application. PaulD

Hey Bill, As I mentioned, Jeremey did a custom paint on one for someone in Germany. The airframe is a bit smaller than the Skymaster one but te quality is way better. http://www.lgmgraphix.ca/qdig.php?Qwd=./gallery/RC%20models&Qif=viper%204.jpg&Qiv=thumbs&Qis=S If you want another Viper I would be intend to go the way especially with Carf behind it.
