RE: My 450 on floats
Well I just got back from a great day. I was the only Heli at the event and they all loved it, the weather was perfect, I had 8 flights and the last 2 the wind picked up but still flew very well. Those are pictures at the event http://picasaweb.google.com/PaulG91/AmidairFloatFlyEvent2009Laval# This is a video of my Heli flying at the Float fly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RHgc_mlAhE Paul

RE: My 450 on floats
Well today is the Float Fly event ,I hope to see other helis on floats. These floats would be Perfect for the T-Rex 500, might consider this for next year, instead of another 600.

My 450 on floats
well I'm ready for the Float Fly event in my area this coming saturday Smile I decided to install a set of floats on my T-Rex 450 SEV2 last night for the float fly event Saturday. They are 30 size floats a bit big for it but still cute and they work very well. I adjust Stunt 2 with a special Throttle and Pitch curve for float flying. I tested it this morning, It was misty rain and breezy and small shops on the water but it flew very well and I was able to ride on the water like a pontoon boat too. very cool Big Grin I made a small clear plastic plate under to protect the Motor and ESC from water splash and cover the hole under the canopy. Flew 6 min with no overheating problem. Its lots of fun to fly from the beach and on and oof the water with a heli Big Grin Video of the test flight this morning the 10 of june 09 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kn29HbXvtyY

RE: what do you think about these???
I dont know those but one thing you have to watch for on woodies also is that they have a lead weight at the tip and it has to be well grooved in and the plastic shrink covering the blade strong enough to prevent the lead from flying out like a missile. Thats why I was recomending the Align woodies since I did took one appart to inspect and they are of good quality for a low price.

RE: what do you think about these???
Ok then just go Align woodies and you will be ok at least on a blade strike they will brake faster and the heli part have less chance of braking. Align woodies are very good and not pricy.

RE: What is the average cost of a t-rex 600 esp crash?
David it depends on the crash,if you fly Electric and its a serious crash and the Battery , ESC and RX battery is damage well its more expensive then Nitro. If its a less serious crash well I would say its probably the same cost. Just my opinion

RE: static electricity causing glitching
Thats strange since you were on 2.4 but I had the same on FM and adding armorall to my belt stop the glitches. In your case if all was the same and it started glitching after a crash it could of been a loose connection a crack electronic board, a crack circuit in ESC or RX. Its hard to say unless you change one item at a time until you find the faulty piece.

RE: TREX 600
I like Stephen's view too, I also have 2 450's and 1 600E ,I have 11 batteries for the 450's and 2 for the 600E, so I'm set for the day with that and I keep my batteries charged up and ready to go. Some say to charge before but I never did that and never had an issue, some of my 2100 mah bat are from 2006 and are top shape. So I fly the 600E 1 flight then put it on charge and fly the 450 until the 6S is ready and so on, works well for me. I usually have buddies there too so we talk alot so we dont see the time pass as the batteries charge. [:)]

RE: Best electronics for T REX 450SE V2...??
Here is what I have in 2 of them It has 3 SH65B carbonite gears for Cyclic the other one for stunts has the metal gear ones The Tail has a GY401 Gyro and a JR3400G servo it has the Spectrum R6200 receiver. TX is a DX7 for battery I use the Thunder power 3S1P 2200 25c extream No problem what so ever the stunt 450 has 200 flights so far and my scale 450 has 84 flights so far.

RE: Blade 400 Comparison
I agree also but if you were flying helis before and even did some 3D you will end up replacing the servos and gyro and the stock battery wont take much puch for 3D. I would wait a bit and go with a good quality mechanic and add the electronics of good quality next. My brother is learning on his first RC heli and its the blade 400 3D and already he had notice that the servo and gyro response were

RE: How to use your DX7 with real flight
Its always nice to fly with the radio you fly in real world [:D] but I also did loosen the ratchet and sliped a piece of fuel silicone tubing over the ratchet arm to give it a bit of friction. Now I'm working on photofield of my club its working partly but not perfect yet.[8|]

Here you go, follow the good instructions here http://ironcreek.net/dx6i/ and do the same for the DX7 . but try it before you change the reverse of servo because mine I didn't have to touch the servo settings on my DX7.

RE: Fact or Fiction?
Same here I just logged 177 flights since last may on my 450 SeV2 and I did use a silicon base lubricant and always check the belt tension, no problem as of yet, no sign of wear. Winter is approaching fast [:o] and I will be taking the Rex completely appart for a major inspection and maybe I will replace the belt for the next summer season.

Fantastic! I know the feeling [:D] My progress is going well too with my T-Rex 450 Se V2 , loops, flips , pirouettes , stall turns, tornados , working on rolls exit as I keep slidding back on exit but now I started doing himmelman and thats fun too. I did stop inverted on a loop once but very short burst for now. [X(] Hoping to hover inverted before winter gets here [:o]

RE: Trimming ends up in disaster
I use Tri-Flow lub that is for helis, and after a good day of flying I come home and use a pressure duster for electronics and use it everywhere there is moving parts. It does a great job [:D] then I do a full inspection before I put it on the shelve. My belt is lub with armor-all every 50 flight.

Tail Wag Blade 400 3D
Might have been posted before but here it is. I had decided to replace the E-Flite servo on the tail rotor for an HS-50 servo and I was getting tail wag and nothing I did made it better. Anyway I read on the spec of the servo that it said 4.8 volts only so it got me thinking that this could be the problem. So I tried 2 other servos that showed 4.8v and 6v and shure thing the wag is gone and its more responsive. So I stayed now with the E-Flite servo on the tail for now until my brother is ready for his T-Rex v2. The blade 400 3D is very stable and hes doing well with it. So now Cyclic 3 x ds285 and tail the stock E-Flite, gyro is the stock one too.

RE: Wierd problem (B400)
ORIGINAL: tyrick69 Sounds like maybe you have a bad servo or a servo binding. I don't think it's a weight issue because I just put some Helimax floats on my 400 (which added 6+ ounces to the overall weight) and I'm not having a problem getting it off the ground.
Do you have any pictures of your Blade 400 on the Helimax Floats. I just got mine and wanted to install them on my T-Rex or my brothers B400 to but they look so big for them. Paul

RE: T-Rex 450 Se full check up
I have the G90 and its set to 67% I get a small drift just before take-off and at time I get a little twitch to the left during hover . Maybe it just cant take the RPM and the DS3500G speed like a GY401 would. Because my brother on his Blade 400 has the G110 and a HS50 and no drifting even with the E-flite stock servo he had no drifting.
