RE: best mail order company?
Ka-planes has 20% off all orders over $100 (I think) even on existing sale items. I thought I find cheaper Trex but not 20% off like KA;s

RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk
the 450 is definately the fastest but it depends on your priorities. The 500 is a bigger size, most stable and easier to see.

RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk
Nitro helicopters are never shipped by vendor after it fueled. Sound like a twitchy servo or maybe the gear got stripped so it not sound. The left knob on that radio is gyro gain when turn CC

Telebee gyro is less $ and not bad rating here either. The tail servo could really use an upgrade even to a hitec 50

RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk
I use thread hold on metal to metal and medium CA for screws in the plastic. it can be a real pain to get them out but it worth the effort in putting it on when install.

RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk
yes it does look like a cp clone. it doesn't really have a frame to speak of. might be a good blade cp once it is electrified. i think the blade cp without electronics is cheaper or you can get a used cp, or even an esky cp2 with electronics for $140. but if you really want to fly and get good at it, get something more substantial.

Hovering 101 training
Ka-Planes has written a lesson that look like RADDS and others all in one and is very good training. from my falcon post " yes, Mikes martial arts anology with training in helicopters is excellent. you should read it. near the end of his lesson http://www.ka-planes.com/hovering_101_ that is exactly how the martial art work and practice. i am going to share it! RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk
yes, the manufacturing of these makes them very similar in balance within very good tolerance. An out of balance wood can make tracking very much off. Sometimes it takes a lot of off balance to make a difference.

RE: Move to: 450 or 600?
I think a 600 size is great but not to start. I like a little smaller to get a good feel. WHen you moving in flight the little instabilities from just hovering are off set by movement in forward direction

RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk
it comes with a 2200. they will last well. while learning keep it to 5 or 6 minutes, later when running the blades faster 8, 9 maybe 10. do not over discharge lipo batteries.

i think the blade 400 is a $200 helicopter ( maybe) with a $200 radio for $469. it looks pretty good and should be interesting to see test result

RE: The Better HeliPro Black Hawk
congratulation on your purchase, you will like this helicopter. the electronics can handle a 2200m battery and it fit in the opening sideways. i usually use a 2100 but prefer 2200. check blade balance and check head and tail screws every or every couple of flights for good maint. have fun!
