RE: Mojo 40 Yes or Other????
I've used both... I prefer the tail wheel. Just make sure it's a nice low profile type like the Dubro... Some of the taller versions screw up your angle of attack. But if you use a skid, just bend it at an angle that will keep the rudder off the ground. Most of your time will be spent over the runway not on it... :D

RE: Taco .25 plans
Looks nice! good luck with the maiden... In the Fat Free Taco design, I use a fiberglass rod down the fuse to help with stiffness… Also makes it a lot stronger and lighter…

RE: Taco .25 plans
I've used a 6 volt NiMh 700 mAh from batteryspace.com. They hold up pretty good. You could also go with a small lipo.

RE: Taco .25 plans
ORIGINAL: flyinrog Hey one more thing...how is the glide on this thing...I generally deadstick in with my other planes, mostly 1/2A stuff, is it gonna just stop in the air like my uproar does...only flown it a couple of times....Rog
It glides okay... But like any 25 size plane, the glide is not as good as a larger plane...

RE: Taco .25 plans
A good rule of thumb on quad tapered wing profiles is to take the full wing cord including ailerons, and multiply by .3. The wing cord on a taco is 15". So 4.5" from the leading edge would be a good place to start. Once you get it in the air and trimed for level flight, roll inverted and if she dives, she's nose heavy, climbs she tail heavy... Adjust to suit your taste.

RE: Mojo Moass build thread
The MoAss mod is something my buddy Andy came up with for the Mojo 60... The mod extends the fuse by 3 5/8" and increases the size of the tail feathers and fuse height. Makes the Mojo 60 a more aggressive, agile bird.

RE: Taco .25 plans
I've had problems with warpage with the 1/4 sheeted structure... Sometimes it's nice and flat... sometimes it's a banana.... Try soaking it and weighting it to over compensate for your warp... Hopefully it'll come out. I've found that CA works better than wood glue for this as the wood glue seems to promote warpage... That's why I went with an open structure on the Fat Free Taco...

Looks good! Nice work. Spruce and bass can be used interchangably on the Taco... you could probably even get away with using a good hard piece of balsa.....
