RE: Some more
My god...that smile has GOT to go. I'm more creeped out than anything...*shivers* Very cool but I can't think of a single person I know personally (including all of the Princeton Jet Rally guys) that has anything in 1/4 scale. It's just too large. Great idea but very small market.

RE: KINGTECH X JETCAT X JETCENTRAL X WREN
It was a tossup for me between Kingtech and Jet Central just recently. I went with Jet Central only because I got a great deal but I wouldn't hesitate recommending Kingtech. The K80 I owned was fantastic and Barry was always around in case I needed help. I had a small issue with my K80 nozzle size (they installed the wrong one) but Barry helped me out immediately. The turbine ran great.
ORIGINAL: FalconWings
ORIGINAL: EagleJC Hi All: as some people suggested nose wheel can be bigger, we made it now. See photo. Ali, I will have one bigger nose wheel for you at Jet Power. Thanks James
James, not just the nose wheel. The mains need to be at least 33% larger to be close to scale. On the newer, heavier F-16's, there is even a bulge on the gear doors to accommodate the larger required wheel. See the pic below so you can get an idea of the proportion. David
It may be more accurate but it almost looks cartoony to me. I prefer the way it currently is on the FEJ except the larger nosewheel is an improvement.

In the video I thought the exact same thing.
ORIGINAL: macmuz Hey all. Nice video. Does the nose gear door seem too close to the ground? In a hard landing or bump in the runway and the nose strut compresses, looks (to me) like it might grab and break the nose door off. Not meaning to be mean, just my observation. Mario.
I can't believe I'm saying this after swearing I would never in a million years own another FEJ but this jet has me downright drooling. So far no reported problems...everything seems to be working fantastic...I'm hoping to hear some reports after say 20 flights but FEJ might just win me back. The plane is beyond stunning (the aggressor one...). Can you guys tell me if that landing speed is really that slow or is it just an optical illusion based on size? Are these big scale birds hard to land? Brutally honest would be appreciated.
ORIGINAL: sailing1 Not a big deal. Had to do this to the Tams Pipe for my Flash. (my measurement error). If your pipe is like mine, just remove the little bolts holding the bell mouth on and remove the bell mouth. Mark the pipe for the desired cut off and use a dremel with good cutting wheel to make the cut. Re-drill the holes to attach the bell mouth and bolt that back on and you will be good to go. Mine has a couple hundred flights on it with no problems at all.
Ok perfect! I never thought of going from the bellmouth!

Cutting down a pipe that is too long?
I received my Tamjets Pipe for my Rabbit 100 which goes in my Tamjets 1/8th F-16. The problem is the pipe is too long (kind of surprised when I got it) as it sticks out past the exhaust cone. What is the safest way to cut the pipe down or is it even recommended? I was considering seeing if Tam could take care of it but thought I would ask here first.

I am putting in a lighting system for my 1/8th scale F-16. Does anyone have some advice on how to drill from the top of the fin down to the bottom to allow the hookup wires? I'm concerned that I will weaken the structure if I start drilling.
ORIGINAL: marc s Gryphon........... marcs
Such a beautiful jet but my god his prices are "up there". Please don't think I'm saying it isn't worth it but it's absolutely high end on the scale. I've wanted a number of planes from that group but could never justify the price. The stinger was right up there on my radar until I realized it would cost me way more than a good sized scale jet. Same with the euro and this is no different. Custom work is expensive but yikes.

RE: Air Pressure (Retracts/Doors/Brakes) Telemetry
I'm not a big fan of the tams failsafe. When I am working on the system, I don't like that there is no "OFF" switch for that unit. It drops things when I really don't want it to. I would rather have the ability to monitor it myself and I'm addicted to the information given back just as much as I am the flying. =) I realize there are other options out there to open/close my doors etc etc but the option I have isn't one I'm going to change for now.

Air Pressure (Retracts/Doors/Brakes) Telemetry
I've gotten spoiled by the information that my Spectrum STI gives me via my Iphone. Speed, Altitude, Battery Life etc etc but the one thing I haven't found yet is a report on Air Pressure for my doors and retracts. Anybody know if something like this is avaliable and if not...why the heck not?? I was completely dissapointed that I wouldn't be able to go electric doors/retracts on my F-16 (nobody makes a door ram that works well with my 1/8th scale Tams F-16) so if I have to use air I would really like to monitor the pressure using my ground station. Anybody have any news?

Ok enough about the color. It would never stop me from buying as I bought the Gold K80 even though that color also made my eyes bleed. Now onto serious stuff. Can ANYONE (Barry??) confirm for me the fuel rate this uses? Also what the residual thrust rate is? I think someone mentioned its less than a pound but I would like confirmation.

And a nice flying jet when the cover is on. Just because a Mustang may be painted pink on the outside doesn't mean it's not steller on the inside. Would I want to drive it? Nope its not my style. Now paint it a nice metallic blue and I'm right there with ya! :) Its just personal preference.

As much as I love Kingtech (and I really do...) I think the colors are ewwwww. Carbon fiber install boards, chrome connectors, powder coated landing gear...and then you see this big ugly turbine sitting in the bay...yuck! At least the gold one has a Mr T vibe going for it. This one is just...strange. The dang thing looks like it started out red but is rusting out. If they had done the entire thing in the deep nice red of the mounting rings it would be ok.

RE: TAM JETS
I ordered a pipe about a week ago. He had it in the mail in two days. I don't know if that's because he had it already to go or what but Tam has always been easy to get for me. It's obvious that he has other things on the go now and that this might not be his priority anymore. But I love his products and he's always done right by me. I think it can sometimes come down to him being absolutely sick of tire kickers. People who email him 30 questions to order one simple part. Especially if that part is custom made. I am not trying to make excuses for him but priorities do change and it would be nice if he could pop in and just fill everyone in on whats going on. It would stop the guessing at least. But overall I've been happy.
