RE: Scam? Too good to be true?
this is also happening a lot on fleabay where bogus sellers offer an item, not just RC and the buyer sends the funds and never gets the goods. fleaby will eventually shut the seller down but they simply open a new account. Caveat emptor in our case but for these sellers . . . caveat venditor!! [8D]

RE: UP3 retract valve help needed.
My P51 does the same thing though I can't get the gear to go down, valve simply leaks at a great rate of knots. Though once I have trided it a few times it seems to come good, sometimes... [:-] Me think I need to get the little bottle of magic bubbles out too and go hunt down the leak. Then again I still need to get my workshop setup, install fluros, pull cable and install some power points. [8|]

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
mae in the economic climate we live in we need to make ourselves as employable as possible. The State Government here is about to release the Budget and there are mass sackings accross the public sector as a result of extreme budget cuts. I'm in a Semi Gov role and there will be impacts ehre. Everyone is anxious and nervous. mmm well she has been out to the field with me a couple of times but it really is not her thing so learning to fly is hardly on the cards. She is supportive though which is all you can wish for.

RE: P-40 Brotherhood (All P-40's Welcome)
simple solution is to use 2 quality HD switches with gold connectors such as a JR or FUTABA and use dual batteries, each with it's own switch feeding into the battery. This is a proven, very simple solution that requires no diodes, no regulators etc and one I have used for over 15 years. A dead or even a shorted battery contary to popular belief will not drag the other pack to 0v.

RE: forgot to check his wheel collar set screw
pretty much what is was actually. I spent 8 years of my RAAF career at Amberley where the F111s used to be based. Now they are rotting in a landfill dump or as gate guradians. Such a shame. Super Hornet replacements don't even come close.

RE: P-40 Brotherhood (All P-40's Welcome)
I had a TF P40 I aquired back in 2000. It had a OS FS120 pumper in it and flew quite well, had a JR gyro on rudder that I had slaved to the retracts, retracts up gyro @ zero gain. Worked well. It was very light, 9 1/2lbs Broke the wing after a forced dead stick into some rough stuff, built a new wing but only lasted 2 flights, spun in doing some stall tests. Bugger! Have a 96" Model Design version to build. Glass fuz, foam core wing and build up tail feathers. 3W-75 in the nose. Essentially it is a Ziroli.

RE: Warbird Museums Reviews
dont have time to do an actual review but anybody visting the UK should get to Duxford, it is well worth it and it is a trove of history, beiong one of the "Big Wing" bases from the Battle of Britain. Doublas Bader lo less was stationed there and you can almost here his ghost roaming . . . and if you can time it for when "Flying Legends" is on . . . It was also the set for many of the scenes of the famous 1960s movie "the Battle of Britain" cheers P

RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
I will mate, she is very excited by it. We had a good days flying yesterday, had a flight on both the seafury and the P51. Would have had more on the seafury but the grub screw that loacks the strut to the correct angle stripped out so it was flopping about 20 degrees. anyway my lady got to see some of the warbirds in action and did a lot of work on her laptop marking her students work!! She is a teacher, currently grade 5. Actually while she is in Indianapolis she is going to teach a class at the school her cousin is a teacher at. Should be interesting for her and the students. Will fix that retract on the sea fury tonight. [8D]
