WOW, Thanks very kindly for that. I really appreciate it. I will let you know when I get it. Even though, it looks like that last patch above did not work, the addon should go in right or do I wait for your instructions. The first patch did work, it seems. Thanks again, Dave

RE: Installation procedure for AFPD model downloads
Okay, I just did the same thing to My laptop with that patch, but got the same message, so dont know if the patch actually worked. I assumed it did because at the end, it said, my Aerofly was updated. But when I look at the numbers, they are still the same. Window Popped up and said. " The Package was unable to replace the following file:C:\programfiles\IPACS\AeroflyProfessionalDeluxe/AFPROD.exe" Is is because I loaded it into a different folder, when I loaded it this time? I can rename it back and try it, but think the patch found it anyway because it called the folder the same as the one I put it in when it asked where to put it. ?

Hi Mike, I uninstalled and re-installed in a different folder. Then I ran the Aerofly 18019 Beta, I had on a second disk. It is now running as per the way it used to. Now, I am afraid to try and run that Addon disk 5 software I downloaded. Should I do something first? The download size was 942 mb. Does that sound right? Thanks, Dave

RE: Installation procedure for AFPD model downloads
I have tried to uninstall the Aerofly from the control panel. The install launcher keeps stopping it asking to check online for a solution, which is futile, so I cannot uninstall any of this. If I delete the IPACS folder, I may still have remnants in my Windows. How should I proceed? It seems that I have (in my ALL programs), Aerofly Pro deluxe , Aerofly Pro Deluxe (restored), Activate Addon 5 (using web interface), Aerofly Manual, and the Pro deluxe website. Nothing about uninstall.

Vista was installed as a fresh install. The program is in Program files IPACS I don't remember disabling anything, and I don't remember putting any patches in. Same with my Laptop. Just the original disk, and it is working... What are the patches or updates called? I have a disk that I wrote on the words "Aerofly updates" from a couple of yeas ago. There are mostly planes on it. . I also wrote on it "do not install til after putting in the original version 18019, but I don't think I did that. Sorry, the ole brain is getting old. [:(]

The version on my original says Version 1.8.0.9. Ive had it for years. Wish I could start all over with a fresh disk and the TX is comes with. (I use lots of batteries up in my Eclipse 7) LOL. This version is running perfectly on my Laptop right now, except for a square for a shadow! My desktop video card is a Vision Tek Radeon X1300 series, and I'm running 4 gig of ram with readyboost, and a 2.7 GHZ Pentium duo Core. It had been working perfectly on that card. Did you watch the video in the link above "My aerofly heli leans"? That shows how well it was working. Thanks again, Dave.

RE: Installation procedure for AFPD model downloads
HI again.. Here is a copy of the first letter I sent with my particulars. I would have much rather had the DVD, but because I had a demonstration to do, I opted for the download and that was the only place I could download it. If I had known it would have taken all that time, I also would not have done that. I have the original Aerofly disc, and then i have the disk 18019 Beta. I tried to reinstall, by uninstalling, then reinstalling disk one, then the beta. Nothing works now, as I mentioned. Here is the first letter I sent to Ikarus. Hi, I ordered the Addon-5 download yesterday but have bad luck after trying to download on 2 separate computers. The first one stopped at 340 mb, and the second one went all the way, but after download stopped, it said it had a problem with saving at that location. It took all night to download it only for it to fail to save. I have plenty of room on my hard drive, am using Mozilla Firefox and running vista. How can I get a disk instead, or please tell me what to do. My order number is XX Thanks for your help.\ Dave

RE: Gyrotor indoor/outdoor Heli
ETRM helicopters use more power to turn left than right, with clockwise rotating blades. That is because the motor slows or shuts down and only the torque from the helicopter's body turns it. Again, it must be a clockwise rotating main blades to make it harder to turn left. If it was CCW, it would be harder to turn right. They are all the same. There is only so much torque available when the motor is off. Those tail rotor motors don't reverse, just slow down and turn off. Belt driven tail rotors are more precise, but still need more wind one way than the other. Battery level is negligibly increased, as you fly in forward flight and the motor does not to run so fast, as the tail weather vanes behind the heli, but not enough to matter in the grand scheme of things.

RE: Please Help--Downloading New Planes in AFPD
Hi Rajul, This is only related, because I am talking simulators here I made a post a while back when I first installed VISTA in my computer. It was called (If you have Vista, check this out!) In my post, I put a link to the video I produced for Youtube on the E-sky FMS simulator. Since I write product reviews and get lots of questions about them, I figured I better try it. I don’t guess my opinions, I actually test them out first, and my subscribers like my honesty. Anyway, I had a problem with FMS and Vista. (I was not alone) Soon after publishing it, one of my subscribers sent me a solution. So not wanting to give up VISTA, I tried the solution and it worked. SO I deleted my original video and made a new one explaining how to fix it. However, there was no way to remove the video link from my original post, and it is still there. (If you click on it, it says the video was removed by the owner) That is right. There is a new video up, and has a new link. However I am being refused to be able to post it. How does a person become a moderator? Do you all know each other? I guess the moderator decided he didn’t want to read about other people bashing Vista. I was just pointing out a few facts about FMS, not Vista. So now the moderator (Da Rock) has made a comment (last night) that I am refusing to let people know my (FMS fix) and has shut off all comments, private messaging and editing to that video. So now that he made his wrongful statement (with his last word), He shut it off and doesn't want anybody else to comment. So, I cannot respond. SHAME ON HIM! I have never bashed Vista, and don't have any intention of it. I want it to work. It is working well for me. You all know we have to make it work sooner or later! Here is the correct link that I want put in back that original post, but can’t. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xNt1J3J270 I am not holding anything back, as Da Rock says. I have over 120 "how to" RC videos on youtube, so I can HELP young people learn to fly helicopters, etc. Why would I hold anything back? If you saw any of my videos, you know my intentions are good. Anybody know how I can I remove the Post all together? Also, I just finished my latest video on the Aerofly Pro Deluxe, my favorite. Here is the link, if your interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO9j2bmGhNY I only posted the vid on the FMS, because my subscribers are very young, and most cannot afford the more expensive sims. I am trying to help them learn to fly, no matter what. Thanks and Semper Fi, Msgt Dave Herbert USMC Avionics, UAV systems engineer

RE: Please Help--Downloading New Planes in AFPD
Hi Rajul, I tried your method of downloading, and since I use Mozilla Firefox, my downloads are set go into my downloads file folder instead of the desktop. I have all my shortcuts in my taskbar and all shut off on the desktop so I have a nice airplane picture to look at. Anyway, when I download a plane, it opens the download box and says open, so I open it and it automatically unzips it and says it is installing into my Ipacs folder in airplanes... And it does. I have downloaded bunches of planes, but only a few work. The folders, however ARE in my Ipacs folder, for example the F4e. I am not sure where I downloaded it from, but it was somewhere in the Ipacs-sim.com site, I think. Here is what is inside the f4e folder: f4e.cfg f4e.dns f4e.obj f4e.tms f4e (music note icon) f4e_preview.tmt f4e_readme f4e-Dekor f4e-info pod tm-dunkelgrau_neu tm-hellgrau-neu I'm going to try to do another one now (without unzipping it) and see if it works your way with the drag and drop. Some planes are .exes too. Not all are Zipped. When I open them, they say they are installing too, but never do. Thanks for your help.

RE: If you have Vista, check this out.
Well, being the original poster, I did not attempt to bash Vista. All I wanted was a solution to my problem, along with many of my Youtube subscribers who look to me for answers. In fact I did get a solution and it worked. I still use Vista and I like plenty about it. Being a retired MS engineer, I am no layman. There are sure plenty of people who bash it though. Those people don't want to try to work around the problems for a solutions. I wrote the post a long time ago and have been flying all my simulators with Vista. I am not one who says to go back to xp. Since my original post, I wish I could have edited it to tell what I did to fix it. Unfortunately, this is one forum, that I have not figured out how to edit my original post.

Thanks. I did use a video camera to record from the screen, and of course not all that clear, especially after youtube compresses it. RE: Gyrotor indoor/outdoor Heli
Aerodynamically speaking, all helicopters lean one way or the other (depending on which way the main rotors turn) while hovering. To help make sure the heli lifts off straight, manufacturers build them off center that way to help novices. Not to worry. My Honeybee King 2 always hangs to the right a few degrees at hover. See my videos on YoutTube of my HB CCPM. It also hangs sideways. Good luck with your machines. [link]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toyePreIe0c[/link]

RE: YOU DON'T NEED NO "STINKING" TAIL ROTOR!
Thanks. MRASMM Not a bad Idea, there. Did you know, that in forward flight of the electric tail rotor motor helis, the blades are not turning or barely turning. Your idea would work, but you know, you need all the surface you can get. The hole would have to be as big as the rotor, or the rotor wouldn't work. Also, did you know, when I designed that setup, I used a plate, because it was shaped like a frisbee which has lift because of the curve. SO applying it to forward flight and the disk being vertical, it gave it side thrust. I am glad you liked my Wind testing video. It's pretty extreme out here in "Mayberry" Ha ha..
