RE: Spitfire Brotherhood (All Spitfires Welcome)
Hi all [:D] I'd love to join too! I have a newly built "old" Kyosho 40 size Spitfire, running a YS63S. It is my second one to date and although there are newer Kyosho models of this aircraft, this one is my fave [8D] Many Thanks, John. Picture..

RE: Sepulveda Basin
Hi Larry, The Hurricane has a nice rate of climb and trimmed out very nicely. It's not super fast but has enough pull to keep you out of trouble. Running an APC 13x8 prop Will let you know when I am ready to take on the Dual Ace [:D] I was also lucky this past week to obtain another Kyosho Spitfire (in the box), and have sorely missed this type since I lost my first one due to a bad switch (will have 2 next time) This model fly's sweetly on a YS 63-S which is what I am going to put in it[8D] Best, John.

RE: Sepulveda Basin
Hello Larry, sounds like you had fun..[:D] I was out there with my Hurricane rebuild and did the maiden, it flew very well and will have to take it out again during the week. Plane started out as a VQ 40 sized ARF, I had a new wing and an old fuse, stripped them down and recovered. Has an OS 90 4S Surpass with a pump. Here's a pic Regarding the Dual Ace, just bought 2 new .46 for it, the ones that I had in it are gunked up and was cheap to get them from HP on sale. Will fly soon.... Look forward to seeing you at the field, say Hi to the guys for me.. Regards, John.

RE: World Models or Airborne Models Tucano 60
[Flys nicely, well done matey [:D] these planes fly so well, outside of my old Kyosho Spitfire, this has been my fave RC model. Albsurfer, no structural damage to the wing or fuse [:D] - I am still going withy the failure on the motor mounts as the root cause of my summer mishap.[X(] I have just rebuilt my OS 91, with the following parts, came to almost 50% of replacement cost [>:] Pump Unit Cover Plate Carburetor #60N FS91SIIP Intake Pipe Assembly FS-91-P Gasket Set FS-91-P O.S. Screw Set FS-91 Surpass (12) Also ordered the aluminium motor mount from Dubro and a new cowl from WM. Will have mine ready in about 2 weeks.

Zinger makes1/10 which has similar properties to the 12/10. You could also try Master Airscrew, but could not see same size available Best, Phat.

I have a Master Airscew 13x8x3 sitting around, I could not use it on grass for T&L but will be interesting to see how it performs on my OS. 91 4s powered WM Tucano. My CMP model is fitted with a ys110, an APC 13x10 for that baby..

Very nice work silver.kiwi, electric conversions for this are great and they fly very well indeed. Let us know how the 3 blade works out for you. In reply to panhndl, there are some good retracts on Hobbyking's website and are very low priced, I have purchased a few myself for the CMP Tucano which I hope to fly this summer. John.

Thanks for checking Ty, and yes hopefully Sierra can produce these for this plane. I have gotten word back from Dave Platt and his spinner is 5 1/2" so yes slight difference but will certainly do for now. Not too many folks walking the pits with a micrometer to report it[:D] Many Thanks all, John.

RE: Messerschmitt BF-109 CMP
Does anyone know of a good replacement spinner/backplate set for this CMPro ME109, guess I missed the earlier production of the aluminium spinner mentioned above. After reading about the spinners back plate problems I decided to look at mine, just in the nick of time as the back plate had cracks radiating out from the center, after I removed the spinner dome, a piece of the back plate simply fell off[>:] There was no contact between the back plate and the nose of the aircraft, prop was completely centered within the spinner and also balanced. I had read in another earlier post that the H9 P51 spinner was an okay substitute, only that the diameter was a little off (smaller) Thanks in advance. John.

RE: World Models or Airborne Models Tucano 60
I used thin CA with stab in place, and later applied thick. For the vertical I applied epoxy to the inside spaces and inserted. I had also placed some masking tape around the opening in case any oozed out. To finish it off I dropped in some gap filling CA. - Has held up nicely - Merry Christmas [:D]

RE: Will Kyosho's FW-190 hit the US?
I'll go with what Paladin said on the engines. The retracts that I have used are the stock ones and have worked great. My 190's have had a couple different engines in them and lately back to a YS 110FZ, mention this only as a reference to the weight currently 7.18lbs / 3.26kg with the FZ and standard gear has held up nicely. I will look at electric, but still pretty pricey when you need support above 7-8lbs This is my first of 2 Kyosho 190's, newly re-built after a crash ..
ORIGINAL: inferno6688 Hi guys, I have just order this plane. What size servos does it need? are standard servos (eg Hitec 425BB) strong enough, besides the 2 retract servos? Will be installing a OS91 surpass (no pump) cheers[8D][8D]
That's what I used in mine, but as previous post standards can be used, I just like a little more for my own comfort zone.[;)]

I have deployed flaps on landings only for my WM version with an OS91, for take off I find this plane needs little other than slight up elevator. I did change the servo rates to lower aileron and elevator movement, my first aileron roll was akin to a drill bit spinning up [:D]
