RE: Airtronics sd-10g-super OR Futaba 8fg
A friend of mine bought a Futaba 8FG. He did not like its small size, inputs and soon after sold it. He got the SD-10G instead. Partly, it was my "fault", because I showed him my SD-10G. Airtronics FHSS-3 is fast, secure and offers Safety Link. It outperforms FASST anyway.

RE: Beginner TX probably Airtronics RDS 8000
The RDS8000 set includes one 8ch Rx. I think, this is worth the extra money. I use the 94102z a lot. It's a bit cheaper than the 94322z. But for 40size planes it's a nice and strong servo. Quality wise it is above some other standard servos like the Hitec HS311.

RE: Looking for a YS 110? Good Luck!
The current YS lineup: http://www.yspower.co.jp/en/engine/index.html Instead of the 110, I would opt for the 115. Between the 63 and 110 is the new FZ70S.

RE: multiplex Royalevo
MPX is owned by Hitec. Most of the MPX gear is made in Asia, especially for the overseas markets. Some items are still made in Germany and developed by a French guy. In this case you can read it somewhere outside the Rx or Tx. Strange that MPX has only a small footprint in the US. I would expect Hitec behind this.

RE: airtronics stylus on 2.4
The Stylus module uses the same technology as found in the RDS8000. The reflector plate that comes with the module should help to increase range.

RE: SD10/Analog servo?
Servo frame rate of the FHSS-3 receivers is around 100Hz. All of my ATX 94102z servos do not have any problem with that. Hitec's analog servos are a different story. I think they are designed for 45-50Hz only.

RE: Futaba FASST vs FHSS
The T8J does not have the Flight Condition Menu (Flight Modes) for gliders/airplanes. The radio is not made for competition gliders. Thus, it does not need to be a full range radio.

RE: Warning Graupner USA HOTT SYSTEM
Why? It's not incorrect what I posted: ZKZ-MX-16-20A: EUT Output Power (mW) 110.92 (Source: FCC) I think what you sell are 110.92mW MX-XX radios not 100mW.;)

RE: Futaba FASST vs FHSS
Futaba 8FG FASST: EIRP P=16.77dBm=47.53mW Futaba T8J S-FHSS: EIRP P=13.24dBm=21.095mW As you can see, the 8FG has much more power than the T8J. In a fast plane/in a fibre fuse/many servos and electronics put into the plane, I would prefer Futaba FASST over Futaba FHSS/S-FHSS. The difference is not the protocol itself but HF output power. Well, full range seems to be defined by a marketing department. IMO, full range is the pilot's line of sight. Futaba or rather Hobico states that 600 size helis a more or less end of the line for Futaba FHSS/S-FHSS.

RE: Futaba FASST vs FHSS
Due to lower output power Futaba FHSS has less range than FASST. The Futaba FHSS antenna is not inside the Tx handle. Just open one Tx and check yourself. Airtronics uses two different FHSS protocols along their line of air radios. The cheaper one called FHSS-1 is similar to Futaba or Hitec's FHSS. The second more advanced protocol called FHSS-3 uses the whole band, is faster and has some extra features like strong interference resistances, temperature resistance, low voltage (down to 1,2V) etc.

Strykaas, I would walked into the next LHS and see what they have there. Also service and support are still important factors. And how about your club mates? What do they use?

RE: Futaba 8J
Yes, the T8J is a perfect radio for smaller planes. But for larger and faster planes or helicopters in demanding environments, I would chose the 8FG over the T8J. 1000m might be great in a static range test (plane not moving). But in the air, you might see different results.

RE: Futaba 8J
Futaba 8FG FASST (AZPT8FG-24G): EIRP P=16.77dBm=47.53mW Futaba T8J (AZPT8J-24G) EIRP P=13.24dBm=21.095mW As you can see, the 8FG has more power than the T8J. See yourself: https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm

RE: Futaba 8J
For larger planes, I would still chose the T7C or 6EX FASST radios over the new T6J or T8J "J" radios. The new T8J's RF output power is only 13.242dBm (21.095mW) (r=20cm).

RE: sorry, can't keep my mouth shut about this
Cheap labour in China killed lots of jobs but created far more new opportunities. Actually, I do not know one person who would like to assemble ipods and other gadgets. Or is there anyone who would like to work in an ARF factory covering model planes day and night?

RE: 8FG Super receivers
Thank you for this impressive test. There is only a "little" problem that needs to be addressed. In the test the model is not moving. In a moving model controlled by 2.4Ghz you might get less range than in this static test. Anyway. As long as receiver sensitivity is on pair with Futaba's own stuff, range should be about the same.
