RE: kmp d3 due november 30th i just ordered one
Thanks for the info. I'll have to re balance it, I did it with the gear down. I didnt weigh the bird shot but it's has to be 1 3/4 to 2 pounds I'll rebalance and weigh how much it is. I put the CG right at 25% which is right at 4 inches Kevin

RE: kmp d3 due november 30th i just ordered one
I'm balancing my ESM DC-3 and I'm glad to get the proper 25% or 4" from leading edge. Only one question, My Giant scale balancer seems to set the plane on it inverted better than rightside up. Which way did you guys balance your planes? Thanks to all in this thread for the info! Kevin

RE: Corsairs on Deck
It's interesting to see that the planes are fitted with only one drop tank not two. You would think to balance the load, they would use two. When fully filled it would be a lot of weight just on one wing. Kevin

RE: WarbirdColors Paint
Spraying in a warmed up area then taking it inside works fine. The nice thing about WBC is if you mess up you can wipe it off with wet rags and start over, it's a horrifying thing to have to do but not the end of the world. Take your time, it's good paint and water clean up, no bad fumes Kevin

RE: Receiver and electric ignition on same battery?
Personally I would use separate batteries, I'm not sure if it's possible to get ignition noise in the power but who knows. If the power to the ignition runs out the worst thing to happen is the engine stops. If the radio is using that battery too,,well you know what happens next. Kevin

RE: What is it?
It's a model of Art Schol's SuperChipmunk. It had retracts that swung back into fairings. That kit has to be 30 years old. Do a YouTube search for more info about Art Schol. He was one of the best stunt pilots to ever fly. He was doing filming for a movie and was in a flat inverted spin and couldn't recover. TowerHobbies used to sell those kits back in the 70's &80's Kevin

We're talking about the "Baltimore Whore". Have you ever heard the saying "One a day in Tampa Bay" ? It's not the Invader Once the pilots learned how to fly it within design perimeters it was an exceptional medium bomber Kevin

RE: Black Horse 90 inch Corsair
Hi. I did fly with them and I ended up using hardened pins to attach the robostruts. I did bounce on a landing and the rails inthe wing came loose, I think it will be fine once I glass in some cloth and triangle stock to beef up the mount area. I think I probably weakened the mounts with the original Retracts, three or four landings with the gear not locked because all the air leaked out put quite a lot of strain on the mounting areas. I think they work great, maybe a different set? Like the bigger LaDo's but I went with the 333s because they were a direct drop in. It's been a fun project. I haven't flown much this season. I've been working with real warbirds, a F7F TigerCat , F8F BearCat, a P-51B , Spitfire, B-25, a AT-6 and a couple of others. I like working on the planes and radials and the PW R-2800 is such an incredible engine Kevin

I can't figure out how the 2 doors on top of the wing panel work. Do you use a servo to open and close them? Could you possibly show some close up pics of your doors setup. I'm kind of scratching my head on how to install them. Thanks! Kevin

RE: fpv big rc airplane
This is interesting technology and should be used in the UAV roll exclusively. It's creating major problems within the pivate RC Hobbist sector. As stated the FAA is trying to get there control over the sudden growth of UAV's and they have bunched our hobby into this new category. If allowed to regulate without input from the model RC sector our hobby is as good as gone. The AMA has been involved and has made good progress in protecting our hobby so far. However the FAA is continuing to attempt to pass new regulations that may be harmful to our hobby. We must become involved with the AMA to continue the efforts to protect our hobby. Kevin

RE: Black Horse 90 inch Corsair
Mine weighs around 24lbs and I might actually make it slightly heavier in the nose. It's balanced at the per print location right now and flies great but I prefer a bit more in the nose. Kevin

The OS is the Cadillac. Great to see that Horizon is now selling our engines. The weather up here in the Northwest hasn't allowed me to fly mine yet. Great news about the retracts too. Kevin

RE: has anyone flown the new 50cc size black horse corsair
Awesome!! Great to see another BH Corsair with a "real radial" up front You're going to love it! Keep it on the rich side of the needle and it'll fly great at 5/8's throttle and gives you scale speed or more,to 3/4 throttle above scale speed and it won't go much faster at full throttle just use more fuel. It's going to be an attention getter that's for sure. I balanced mine per the instructions and I think I like it just a bit heavier in the nose but it's a good starting point. On take off, when you think you're ready to pull back on the stick, let her run a bit more then lift off. These are sweet flying machines! Kevin

RE: has anyone flown the new 50cc size black horse corsair
Mine don't rotate at all. They are rock solid with no slop in the gear,Could you be getting the rotation from the strut? I used RoboStruts and they have the scissors and only function up and down the way they should. I've never seen the LaDo struts before. What keeps the LaDo struts from turning? Kevin

RE: has anyone flown the new 50cc size black horse corsair
Air leaks are very troublesum I was forced to make a gear up landing and I did it perfectly but a cost me a composite 3 blade prop. It was a spendy landing. I can't wait to get mine in the air, scale retract speed and dependable Kevin
