Hey guys. Anyone know what a stock car like this does in terms of speed. Also your thoughts on this car. I was thinking of getting one to screw around with, but if they don't have much power, then screw it. thx

Hi there I am looking at getting foams for my RS43 18ss. I understand that the lower the number the better traction, but what does the offset mean. What should I be looking at...0,+1, or 2..ur thoughts thx

RE: RS4 EVO vs RS4 SS
the stock x-radials arent bad. but foams are recommended. get used to the speed first then upgrade parts slowly

RE: rs4 18ss is durable
they are very durable..just once ive come out of a crash, and nothing happened, other times when it got into an accident...they were cheap to repair... one time i slammed into a concrete wall, and it only took $12 to repair...it looked serious, but the cost of the damage was minor..its a fun hobby, but dont expect that each time u crash u'll just pick it up and continue racing...eventually something always breaks.

RE: RS4 EVO vs RS4 SS
Honestly, my buddy has the EVO and I have the 18SS...and he always keeps up with me, so it's not like its that much quicker. The 18ss is 50mph+, and I'm not sure on the EVO, but it's gotta be up there as well. As for performance and handling, it's the same. The 18ss is a kit, so you build it from scratch. check out the manual and see what you're in for. It is fun tho! http://www.hpiracing.com/graphics/instr/10251/10251.pdf

RE: RS4 EVO vs RS4 SS
The Evo is RTR and the 18ss is a kit. The actual car is pretty much the same, except for the engine. The engine in the 18ss is the HPI Outlaw .18, and the EVO has the .15. Also to clarify, in the EVO you get everything (including radio, servos, etc), and in the 18ss kit - you don't get that but a better engine. So if you need all the other equipment and you're a noob, I would recommend the EVO. If you like building then get the 18SS, but then you gotta spend more to get the servos, radio. As for cost - The EVO and the 18ss is pretty much the same off the shelf - Approx $300usd (but don't forget, with the 18ss then u gotta buy the electronics, so it ends up costing more)

RE: RS4 Club Thread
Jon, did you get any sort of tracking number? I know from past experience, that it's worth the extra few bucks to get insurance. Like this you can track your parcel. But because it's one big order order, I'm sure it's stuck at customs as well. Hold onto your shorts there big guy. You'll get your items soon [:)]

RE: RS4 Club Thread
boys, that screw u indicated in the picture is not the second gear adjustment screw. thats the screw to tighten to the cup once its in there. what u'll need to adjust is the screw with the spring (in the picture) that u turn tight then 2.5 - 3 turns out..so what u do is loosen that other screw first (the green one in the picture), then tighten the adjustment screw, then turn 2.5 turns out. now put it in the other cup...THEN tighten the other set screw, so it fits tightly on the cup. then put the rest of it together, and try it out. u'll need to play around with the shift screw, but u can do that from under the chassis. i had the same problem, and my 2nd gear works like a charm now. Hey jon, my fail safe is 100% now...i had to also tweak that. that venom smart temp fail safe is too advanced man. hahaha. peace!!!

RE: 1/8 Scale RC Car - What to get
great input so far! thx!!! are the 1/8's mainly belt driven? or are there shaft driven? What would you recommend for mainly bashing in parking lots. Also, what's the suspension like.. I saw a xr80 at the lhs, and the suspension was stiff as a board. wasn't sure if that was just the display model or what but it didn't impress me. or maybe its supposed to be like that. ur thoughts

1/8 Scale RC Car - What to get
Hi Everyone So I've been rc'ing for several years now - always the on road touring cars. I have the HPI mini RS4 and the RS4 18ss (currently). But now I fell in love with 1/8 scale cars, and looking to get one, and not breaking the bank. I've looked at the Mugen MRX4R (big time money) or the Power Racing XR80 RTR (more affordable) just to name a few. Let me know of others as well. What I'd like to ask the experts are a few things: - Most durable Car including handling, performance, speed - I dont want necessarily speed right out of the box, I want a more overall robust car. I know when buying a Mugen or Serpent you buy the engine separately since those are kits, but still want some input - availability of parts online and more cost effective parts (I know my lhs provides Power Racing parts but doesnt stock Mugen parts). So what do you guys recommend? Thanks a lot!
