RE: Xmas gift for husband, NEED HELP!!
That was just my assumption that with smaller pieces, aluminum would be a better option. One would also think that this thing wouldn't be driven that hard and would not be crashed as bad. For the most part, plastic is better and cheaper of the two. Aluminum sure looks nice though...but when that first scratch comes in, you get mad! [:@][:)]

What's the point of getting a "surprise," when you may not even like it and have to wait in those funtastic return lines after the holidays? My girlfriend got the gist real quick after our first Christmas together. She got me a few DVDs from Best Buy and I returned all of them and got the same exact and new DVDs off of ebay for about half the price. :D:D

RE: Xmas gift for husband, NEED HELP!!
ORIGINAL: melinkoly_kat I've changed my mind, instead of the ball bearing motor, I'm getting some upgraded shocks, he likes doing jumps and flips. I'll get both if IÂ can find the extra $20, which I'm sure I can somehow. His T-Maxx is pretty fast. He's wanting an E-Revo though, he says the nitro ones are a pain to tune, and with him, everything has to be perfect, which includes the air to fuel ratio. He spends about 20 mins tuning it everytime he takes it out! I'm hoping he will enjoy his Christmas this year! It's great to hear someone else think this is a great idea. Again, thanks for all the help, I'm very grateful.
Aluminum isn't always the best, but in this case (a mini), I would think that it would be. Plastic flexes while aluminum bends, but with such small pieces, I would think that aluminum would be much stronger and less prone to bending than plastic. With nitro, the first tank is usually tuning anyways, since the motor has to be slightly tweaked every time the weather changes even a little. I got myself a VXL Mini revo for the winter season, since I have to have something to play with that has wheels all the time! [8D]

RE: HPI Racing Savage XL Chassis Conversion Set
If you just want the width, then you will need the XL chassis plates, rear center dogbone, and engine plate. If you want the width, then you will need the diff cups, dogbones, and axles w/spacers.

RE: Diffs
I had a diff locker in my front diff and I noticed that my dog-bones started twisting a bit (one end was about 45+ degree angle opposed to the other) and the cups were taking a beating as well...SO, I took it out and just put in thicker diff oil, so that it still has near locking ability but without the added stress on the drive-train.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
When driving the truck straight on flat surface, the wheelie bar does its job for the most bar and it does NOT veer off.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
There are numerous upgrades out for this little guy. Check out www.thetoyz.com As for the wheelie bar, get [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/Traxxas-1-16-E-Revo-VXL-Hopper-Wheelie-Bar-IMPROVED_W0QQitemZ270458379407QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRadio_Control_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3ef8935c8f]this one[/link]. It is the cheapest priced bar out there and it is very sturdy and the truck going straight. It also has 7 different positions as well. Plastic flexes, while aluminum bends...keep that in mind.

The X4.6 is for the most part, the most updated truck that is the easiest to work on and is also the "fastest" nitro Savage from HPI built.

RE: tough diff
Although that motor may be powerful, it isn't that powerful to be blowing diffs. You may have work bearings somewhere, or binding problems. Either way, just get HPI's new bulletproof diffs that they made for the Flux.

RE: Savage XL - 60 days of hell
How long has the fuel been on the concrete? If not too long and when you smell it, you smell the nitro fumes well then it should still be good. Questionable fuel can still be used as a cleaning solvent for the greasy crap on the truck. Just make sure to give it a good wipe down and possibly shoot it with some de-greaser afterwards to get the oil off of it.

They will fit fine, but they will look a little goofy and will make the Flux even more unstable. You could just gear down and you shouldn't have any heat issues.

RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
Loosen the slipper up a little bit and learn to have throttle control, as in ease into the throttle. Gearing should be fine, as long as you aren't overheating, and with winter coming up, I doubt you will be. You could get a ESC heat-sink to aid cooling and then cut out a small hole in the windshield and rear window for added cooling.

Dynamite Prophet Sport
This is the charger that I use for my 1600mAh batteries for my 1/16 VXL Revo. I have had it for over a year, charging 5-cell Team Orion hump-packs and never had an issue. I have been hearing that this is an outdated charger that isn't consistent in its charging. I have been charging them at 1-2 amps and 5/6 of the batteries are still good but one of them supposedly has a bad cell and won't hold a charge. Can a charger cause a bad cell or is the seller of the batteries just saying that? A Duratrax Onyx 220 and 240 have been recommended, but I'm not sure if I want to spend that money. Maybe on the 220, but not the 240. What are the main differences between the two? Thank you, Daniel

RE: Question about 16 or 19 TOOTH CLUTCH BELL??
A 19t wouldn't even fit on there with the 52t SG. Either way, if you want to replace your clutch shoes real soon after installing a 19t, then go for it. [;)] You would be choking the motor of its proper RPM. The K5.9 is notorious for blowing prematurely.
