RE: OFFICIAL MINI E-REVO THREAD!!!
Hello, I've been a long time member here and know the search function and how to browse through the forums, but I do not have the time to do so. Can someone tell me what the best, most reliable, and longest lasting (life of the battery, not run time) nimh battery for the MERV is? I purchased 6 1700mah batteries quite some time ago from FastRCBatteries, only used them a handful of times, and now they will not charge fully, do not hold a charge for crap, and a few trigger a "circuit error" message on my Duratrax Onyx 230, which I have set at 1.5amp for 6 cells at 1700mah. I have Team Orion 5-cell hump packs for my nitro cars/trucks and they have lasted years, with no special treatment; they get used, recharged, and have sat on the bench for a long time and still recharge and hold a charge when I come around.

RE: Temps Warming Up = NITRO TIME!
All of those are easy to work on. I have both the Savages, MT2, and mini E-Revo. The MT2 would be the closest thing to on-road out of that bunch and easiest to drive at high speeds. The XL in my opinion would be the best off road basher due to its added length, width, and height. All of those have a lot to offer with hop-ups. Ebay has a lot of chop-shops that you can get loads of stock parts for all of those vehicles.

RE: Two Questions....Need some input from the veterans
I stick with the XL shoes off ebay. You can get the shoes, flywheel, and all the hardware for about $20 shipped. Aluminum shoes, vented clutch bell, plastic spur gear. I have ran that combo on my X4.6 for close to 6 gallons and my XL with a LRP30 for close to 2 gallons, and the clutch bell gears are still like new and I have not eaten any spur gears with it either, just have to make sure to set the mesh right and you will be good to go.

I'm not the seller and do not know the seller, just thought you might want to take a look at this Savage for comparison. [link=http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/tag/2463376110.html]Savage[/link]

RE: Picco weekend Project
Put the new bearings in the freezer. Tear apart the motor, so you just have the block. Heat the block, tap the rear of the block on some wood to get the rear bearing out, then push the front bearing out with a screw-driver or something. While the block is still warm, put the cold bearings in and you are good to go.

RE: Problem with my Flux....
Is the ESC still properly connected? Try shaking the thing lightly to see if you can hear anything rattle inside of the electric pieces. I don't have a Flux, but those are my only assumptions.

RE: Dynamite Big Red Monster .28 on my Savage XL 5.9
Stick with PLASTIC spur gears. They are cheap and very durable, just set the gear mesh properly and they will last a REALLY long time. If you get a steel spur gear, then you are wasting money, adding rotating mass, and if something fails, it will be a combination of the expensive spur gear AND the clutch bell.

RE: another wormy newb question please help!!!!!
If you're doing the motor, then you may as well just take a look at the diffs. Only 6 screws and 2 retainers to get the diff out. Make sure all the screws are there and put some loc-tite on metal to metal screws. I would also recommend putting some ball bearings in place of the plastic bushings in the steering posts. You probably won't notice a difference, but the bearings won't get worn out like the plastic bushings would.

RE: Dynamite Big Red Monster .28 on my Savage XL 5.9
Try the stock 16/52 and then see what you like with the 49, 48, 47 spurs. The lower the spur tooth count, the better the top end and the higher the spur tooth count, the better the low end. Opposite for the clutch bell.

RE: NOT A GOOD DEAL
No offense, but the buyer, you, is at fault for the purchase. You should have done more research on what you were looking for and to know what to look for. Take this as a "cheap" learning experience towards other, much stressful purchases/events in life. [;)] Look in the RCU classifieds and on ebay. Look for ratings and ask as many questions as you can think of. What makes me more likely to seal a deal is if the seller is willing to explain everything that I ask about and not get pissy about it. Saying that, I've obviously had quite a few of each kind.

RE: FWD Savage xl.............plz help!
Get yourself a HPI Savage screw kit from ebay chop-shops and you will get all the screws you will need, so that your bashing day doesn't end because of such a minor thing. You can usually pick them up for less than $10 shipped. Use red loctite if you plan on never taking your truck apart...which you obviously will, so use BLUE loctite ONLY.

RE: recommendations for an xl reciever charge indicator?
Save yourself the money on a more productive purchase. Just charge your battery before you go out. Get yourself a quality charger and it will do so within 30-60 minutes.

RE: Does it ever end?
Save yourself some future headaches by cleaning the grease off your trans gears. It specifically states in the manual to keep those gears DRY. Reason being is that the grease will attract debris/dirt to the gears and wear them down prematurely.

RE: Better Shocks for Savage X 4.6 rtr
My X4.6 has close to 6 gallons and I have only slightly bent ONE stock shock shaft...that is all the damage that my shocks have taken. They have gone through many cart-wheels, clipping of immovable objects, head-on collisions with immovable objects, etc., and they are still running strong. Black or orange springs, 20-30 wt. oil, and adjusting of the spacers is all that is needed for bashing. A set of 8 is less than $20 shipped off of ebay. RazurBlackz-What motor/pipe do you have in that thing to achieve such speeds?

RE: Rear diff slip? Doesn't go straight on power
First, make sure that everything spins smoothly and operates smoothly by itself, but you most likely will need to put a thicker silicone oil in the diff. I've found that Traxxas has the cheapest out there, try 30k and see how you like that and if it still pulls, then try 50k.

RE: Fair Trade?
You keep your engine, but make sure to get their engine. The Maxx is more of a monster truck that originally cost more, while the Jato is more of a buggy/stadium truck that originally cost less. IMO

RE: Flywheel and clutch assembly help
You sure that it was the clutch that locked up and not the transmission? Make sure that the set screws are in the 2-speed, and that they are adjusted correctly. Maybe you just had bad luck and something got caught in the drive-train?
