RE: Help, Cant get O.S 45 fsr to idle
I agree with TFF. I too have one of these engines and could not for the life of me get it to idle on a OS 8, OS 3, or a McCoy #9. Put in a K&B with idle bar, problem solved!!!

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
Hey All, Just started following this thread. I have coming this week a 59 Revolver with an OS .55AX w/ Bisson muffler. Based on what I have read, there are things to check and modifications to do, so I am listing what I need to do and have a few questions. 1. Check firewall for wood pinning 2. Replace wing tube with carbon fiber and dowel 3. Check wing incidence because of wing pins 4. Check landing gear for upgraded bracing 5. Replace stock landing gear with Dubro 6. Replace stock tail wheel assy. 7. Plug one half or restrict muffler outlets 8. Upgrade fuel tank to larger size (?) 9. Are the stock hinges OK or should I go with Dubro plastic hinges and pin them? 10. Balance or replace spinner 11. Has anyone set one up using flaperons and if so how did it work? If there is anything else I missed, feedback would be appreciated. Thanks so much

RE: First UVA 1/2 A Race of 2006, First injury
Whether he was standing or sitting I guess is irrelevant, and whether the plane weighed 12oz or 3.5 lbs. anything with an engine turning 8K rpm or 28K rpm is considered a flying meat slicer. Glad to hear that he will be OK but even more so I'd say your lucky it ONLY hit him in the arm. Just imagine if it hit him in the face? I would think you and your club should review the safety issues implemented by the AMA and learn from this incident. AMA didn't just change the way pylon races are to be conducted just for the sake of change.

RE: OS .46AX Bearing Swap Out
Dave, Having too changed a lot of bearings over the years I have found that if you put them in the freezer the night before in a Zip-lock bag that this too will help the new bearings slide into the hot case a lot easier. The reason for the Zip-lock is to help reduce any moisture and the hot casings usually will cook off any that may have accumilated. My $.02 Roger

RE: OS 46 ax muffler-tunepipe???
Picked up about 300-400rpm. You can play with the prop size a little to gain more. I will check on the sweep. But I do think it was a little bit more and angled a little further up. That would be if installed in the upright position. Down and out if it's on its' side.

Hey Cole, Sounds like a plan. What time does racing begin? How do I get information as to how to join the club? Does the club only fly 428 and 422 or do they also fly 424? Thanks again for the race info. Roger

Air Foils
Hello All, Well having been out of racing now for about 10 years, the bug has struck yet once again, and now that I live in Arizona and have the wonderful RC Speedworld at my finger tips, I have decided to get back into racing. I would like to build my own Q500 planes and was seeking some help as to where I might be able to find a full size template of the most popular airfoils so that I can cut

RE: Post pictures of your RACERS!
Best way to launch a V-Tail Q500 racer is, full up elevator and full throttle. It helps if you have someone hold your plane while you throttle up. Let it go and hold on....
