RE: Dynaflite Butterfly build
Earl The butterfly's weight is 3 lbs 10 oz It's strange using the old system,so used to the metric system now. Great on the cake when will we tell liftdump, best not to leave him in the dark to long. May go flying in the morning, Jenny wants hay picked up so I might not get there. It's hot here now and its 9 -30 pm Also I have sined again this time a thunder tiger pro 46,yes E-bay reasonable price I need one to fit a cessna ARF I aquired new last year, fiber glass Fus and balsa wings with the usual red and white paint job. The cake's given me a real buss I think its because the butterfly was so much fun with you bloks , and I know I will fly it. If your short on readys I send a check for the postage and the copying. I don't mind and it Christmas, well nearly. Jenny's in bed shes had a big week she went to perth (3hour flight) she missed the flight home so she had to go home through Sydney Yours Paul T

RE: Dynaflite Butterfly build
Unlike some things size is not the issue if you think 100 inch is for you go for it if you need plans to go from scratch I sure I can set you up with them and if your set on the 100 I'm sure you can alter the middle to that extra. Its morning and I'm off in a few secs to some cup celebrations at sunbury so not on line Liltdump PM me with your details so I can a send plans if you need them and that way you will have them for the after Christmass start. I enjoy the buildalong method and if I have something on the go I'l do other things on other started projects so it will suit me fine. My new year resolution is not to start any new kits till I finish two .So that start date is going to be OK.LOL Yours Paul T. Aged 62 so I'm the boss.

RE: Dynaflite Butterfly build
Earl ,a short story .One of the sons recieved a surf boad for Christmass one year, the little s&)t found it and replaced the new one with his old one so he had around 4 weeks use before it was Christmass. Dont go there the water is dangerous I can weight the six or os weeks. [sm=drowning.gif]The suns hot over here sun burn the real danger I will need to be carefull from now on. Back to the build lets start the first week after Christmass Yours Paul T[sm=drowning.gif]

RE: Anyone Else Having Trouble With Super Monokote?
The only thing that I'v covered with any perfect results is the floor. We all want that perfect result with our aircraft, MK is just unrelible in giving this and they have not offered any sound advice on its use on this thread. About 80% are having problems in covering. I know I lack the skills to use there product my self but I can't afford the time or the cost any more. I now get good results with other products. Yours Paul T

RE: Dynaflite Butterfly build
Earl My vote for our next build is the wonderer as I said I have what I call a rough kit (needs the ribs to be re-cut). There is about a day extra in the build for me, its simple with a quick result and one less in the shed. I do have a scroll saw so no problems re cuting the damaged parts. Ive been in the model room looking at the corsair Just cant belive I got at the price and it perfect. It was originaly from Montreal Radio Control Centre. I wonder if there still in existance. Just on midnight so good night and sweet dreams of course of butterflys. Yours Paul T PS I have a stack of wood so any build is possible I got enough wood to make a post and rail fence from here to New York LOL.

RE: Dynaflite Butterfly build
The yellow one is a Great Plains Spectra its onty short on the control rods and servos powered by an out runner with about 1.2 kg of thrust. It should go like the wind. Can I talk you into getting a copy of the cake plans so we can have a build along again with it , more fun building that way I have enjoyed you company on the build. You might even get old liftdump to go again on the cake .Lets know what the cost of postage and coping if your that way inclined. Or if you want a copy of the spectra we can do a swap. I am keen to build the smaller one to add to my collection of big wings. How about a photo of your Mustang I have 2 one finished with a os 46ax the other a TF kit (started but very little progress). Yours Paul T ( off to melbourne soon)

RE: Dynaflite Butterfly build

RE: Dynaflite Butterfly build
Earl I know your at work. No its your Sunday so maybe your at home. I just went out to the work room and re balenced my butterfly and yes its tail heavy the ballance point is around an inch out not able to give you a figure in weight but I will now move my engine forward and see if I can get it closer ,Jenny has a day off tuseday so I think my day is well planed not that I know what I am doing but it will not help my flying program. As for the OS20 its got more weight but after the last effort with the 15 I would need to check my figures. Personaly I think it would climb that fast I see it over hear. That servo can go right to the front of the equipment area still that will help a bit Yours Paul T

RE: Dynaflite Butterfly build
Earl the balance point is 3 3/16 inches after the leading edge so the throtle servo need not be changed as it can be instaled forward of this point and therefore on the positive side of what you need. I'v just been in the shed and tuned the OS15 it runs like a dream I am also working on a Saito 45 that not runing well but I will win in the end. Yours Paul.T

RE: Dynaflite Butterfly build
Earl make 2 F4 that is 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches 3/8 ply it is the simplist way of gaining weight other than giving chocolate to the wife. LOL No nead for glue just cover them in blue or yellow put them in place and use longer bolts to hold the engine mount to the fire wall (F4) as per the plan give it a go . Yours Paul T

RE: Dynaflite Butterfly build
Earl How tail heavy is it You could also move the throttle servo as far forward as possible with little effort, and as I also said pack the engine forward with 2 3/8 ply spacers on the fire wall and longer bolts that will put the engine forward 3/4 of an inch. The extra weight of the ply and the weight of the engine being that extra distance from the balance point must help. What do you work at any way
