RE: How bad is the Walkera Dragonfly #5, really?
Get the V3 if you want to master head-in, sideways in short time. With V2, you'll never move beyong tail-in; it's impossible to keep it steady enough to practice head-in.

RE: Blade CP twin tail motor question
They load the twin tail motors in parallel circuit in which the source voltage from the esc to the tail motors is the same as before except the source current from the esc is being split in half. The housing for twin motors and the second motor add weight to the tail. YOu need to shift the battery forward to adjust the CG.

RE: Advice needed on separates for Walkera 35
The metal gears in the tail boom don't cause RF interfence (they are non-electrical don't generate electrical and magnetic fields). Radio glitch occurence is the indication of the battery has deteriorated or old battery. Some batteries will last longer than the others, depending on how the batteries are being used and handled.

RE: high quality long flying time mid size elec heli
apply some thermal paste you get from computer store between heatsink and motor would help increase heat transfer. Too much heat build up with little rest causes the motor wears out prematurely. Again, if it's the size 400 motor, it's only $6 each.

RE: Did i make a mistake buying this?
This basically the walkera 35. I wouldn't buy from this guy who sent me used and swelled lipo battery as new. Plus they took 2 weeks to ship after payment.

RE: Housefly or RotoFly?
I would go for the D5-2 (with real servos control the cyclings), this heli can stay within 2'x2' square without any problem. HOusefly is impossible to keep it at one spot with the best trim, it would drift/wobble in a big circle.

RE: Which is better? Honey Bee cp2 or E Flite blade cp
Or get the older version FP Honey Bee on eBay for $59 to start with. By the time you become proficient, you can move up to the CP2 Honey Bee, the price will drop by then. If you start with T-Rec or Hornet as beginner, you are throwing money into the drain and most likely, you'll give up before your first hover.

RE: LiPo Batteries
I had one lipo battery exploded 2 fts from me and my room was immediately turned into a gas chamber. It happened on the second time the lipo battery was being charged without any visual or electrical distress warning. The heat was so intense igniting the rest of the cells. The remaining cells acted as propellants driving the burning lipo acrossed the room and missed me by inches and landed on my computer desk. It took days before the smell finally went away. Whether you're being careful or not soon or later you will get one. It's a gift. But don't take the warnings for granted. You're really playing with fire here when charging lipo battery. Have to be extremely careful when handling lipo battery.

RE: Walkera Dragonfly #5 help
It's very likely the fibre carbon shaft is distorted and at the end of the fibre carbon shaft where the upper maingear is mounted is damaged. It only takes a few strikes of the lower blades before the carbon shaft is distorted and vibration starts. Replace the fibre carbon shaft will solve the problem. Don't waste your time to balance the helicopter. It's not nessessary.

Go to your LHS and get some aluminum tubes. A foot long aluminum tube costs about $0.70 can make a pair of nice and solid LG for walkera.

RE: Walkera DragonFly #35 CCPM Electric RC Helicopter Reviews
The hex shape gear would fit in the hex shape tail rotor shaft. Aluminum gears create more friction. Have you wondered why they never use aluminum to make pinions? They'd rather use brass. My walkera d22 used aluminum gears and it was much lighter than the d35. The motor wore out super fast. That's the reason why I don't want to upgrade the plastic gears to metal gears on my d35. If you don't want to strip the plastic gears, mount an aluminum tube on the fin to increase the clearance for the tail blades.

RE: Walkera DragonFly #35 CCPM Electric RC Helicopter Reviews
Just a thought, I wonder if I can install two gyros on the walkera 35. Since I'm quite impressed how steady the heading controls by the stock gyro, if an additional gyro is introduced to the roll movement control, I wonder if it really helps/makes the df35 more stable to fly since the roll and yaw movements are constantly monitoring by the two gyros. The only things left for pilots to control are the throttle and forward/backward. Any inputs is welcome and please let me know if it's possible to add another gyro on the walkera 35 for the roll control before I place a bid on it. I saw this new walkera gyro on ebay for only $5 bucks. If I get this gyro, I have to skip one lunch, just kidding. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5986227645&ssPageName=ADME:B:LC:US:1

My 2200MAH lipo came with a wall charger. While charging, the LED illuminates solid red and when the lipo is full, the LED flashes red and green. To be safed and extra precautions are neccessary when charging and handling lipo battery.

RE: Walkera DragonFly #35 CCPM Electric RC Helicopter Reviews
I got under 15 minutes of flight time with a 2200mah lipo(on 2rd pack). It flew for 7-8 minutes on the 1st session, put it away and came back the next day and flew for another 5 minutes before started lossing power and altitude. I measured the voltage, it was at 11.45V. It still could hover for another 1 or 2 minutes at 2 feets but I didn't want to take any chance because radio gitch would occur when the voltage drops below 11.29V.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=387908 It seems the radio glitch of the walkera 35 is not entirely caused by the stock electronics. Read the above link to find out why. It's a very interesting discovery.

RE: Help, my battery is cold while charging!!!
My 10.8V NiMH stock battery hardly gets warm up after an hour of charging. I just charge it for another 8~10 minutes and it would get very warm (under 50C deg) and I stop charging it. The flight time lasts only for 3~4 minutes on the walkera 35. After 40 packs, I losed count of how many times I've charged it and the strength of the battery is still working good.
ORIGINAL: VegasBob You are so right! I've tried everything including a Dean Whip antenna and the Tx and Rx disconnect on both of my #35s. This is very dangerous. I recommend the Hitec Eclipse Spectrum 7 Tx and the Hitec electron 6 Rx. the Eclipse Tx can be used on many planes or helis and can change to any frequency. On sale now at Hobby People for $170. The RX will be on sale next week for about $45 each plus a $10 crystal. Good investment. If you have the cash, this is a good deal usually the Tx is about $210. Bob-Las Vegas PS I was thinking about getting a Trex but I've been told the Shogun flys much better. Any opinions?
Bob-Las Vegas, What's different between positive and negative shift? RE: Walkera DragonFly #35 CCPM Electric RC Helicopter Reviews
You can't fly the Walkera 35 during the day when the weather is warm. The heat from the sun causes radio glitch and crash. Fortunately, it was only 2 feet in the air when that happened and no major damage, except, tilted the tail housing. I usually fly the Walkera 35 in the evening before the sunset and has had no radio gitch.
