RE: Patriot XL
i guess your problem was the prop, i flew mine with the same setup with a 12-6 to start an them 11-8 @ 15000 rpm. try that and maybe you will not get a dead stick and don't forget to leave it a little rich.

no 428, this is a q-40 race (used to be the JR Gold Cup Series) with a lot of pilots from out of state, and we got the 424 to fly, come and race and meet new guys from all the USA.

qm-15
hello bob, i got a qm-15 that i'm going to build and i was wondering if any of the jett's 25 size quind of motor would fit in this plane, i now they used to fly them with nelson 15 but i want to put a jett and i know it's not for racing. but want to take it to the limits with a user friendly motor as the jett. i currently fly qm-40 so i'm not worry about venturis or full throttle take offs. thanks ray coletto

RE: How do I get started?
ok Club-40 80-90 MPH 424 110-120 MPH 428 160 to 170 MPH 422 (Q-40) 180-190 MPH the faster you want to go the more money. but 424 could be really cheap and very fun with all the people flying them right now

JETT 60lx
hello bob, i'm getting a new 60 LX from a friend and i now it comes with the SS muffler. now if i put a 428 muffler, you think i can still run the 10x6 prop or should i stay at the 428 props. i fly 428 and q-40 so getting props it's not a problem and i understand that i might be loosing some reliablility. and can of rpm should i target for 19-20 or 20 over. thanks ray coletto

RE: 424 Summer Workshop and Testing
hi scott, i think that me and Mario Travieso are going it all depends if we share a car to go to split the gas and that my wife doesn't decide to have the baby #2 that day cause the due date is on september 17. will see. as far for phillMill if i go i'll be willing to help you and if you start coming to our races, witch i go to all of them i can call for you and i know how to stay out of your way. i been doing this for a while, even before Scott started coming to our races with planes without switches and using a screwdriver to open the hatch on the line to power the plane.[:-] when i was flying 424 i did want to fly 428 to try but deep inside i knew i was going to do it, so i stay in 424 for a little over two years until i felt i was ready for it but on the free time i was flying the planes with nelson on them to get used to the speed. (it really helped me). so by patiente and fly 424 for a while. we still have good 424 guys to learn from and have good races. (by the way i love calling for 424 it's way more fun, and ussually the person i call for wins or do good, for example Mr. Richard Rosember and 82 years old guy that when he comes to the races he wants me to call for him and ussually wins a trophy and kicks some youngs buuts including Scott) and Scott james Creech had 4 bypass surgery and doing fine and he says that's coming with bradley and two new guys. thanks ray coletto
