RE: Rudder & Nose Wheel Hookups
Flight reports......dead stick the first time. successful landing nose wheel problems did not allow flights 2 & 3 using separate servo now for nose wheel.....Flight 4 would not take off Flight 5...after raising the nose gear for positive UP.....Flight 6 was great....engine not turning up however. Have installed new piston ring and engine compression is excellent...Flight 7 ....pending on IN weather

pusher pipe
My ST 60 has a MACS pipe on it. The engine is mounted (pusher style) on a Nitro Bobcat 52. How should the pipe be modified so the exhaust will exit to the rear (toward the prop). Do I just add an outlet to the prop side? Do I cap off the rear of the existing pipe? I think the (new) outlet should be larger ID that the existing at the rear? All else considered, I've seen pictures of the Weston unit and looking for Dub's version, but not yet found it.

RE: Which Corsair to BUY - CMP, ESM or Hanger 9
I own a ESM Corsair 74.5" and using a Zenoah 26cc gasser. ESM retreacts too. Yes a certain amount of extra work. Wing panels are made in a different place than the center section and I striped the wing, repaired the fit of the panels and refinished the wing....1 piece. ESM retracts work well in set up. The aggravating flaps are not fun. I used internal linkage and the expernal hinges. Not sure I should have done that......robarts look like a good (next time) option. It's not the best ARF, but I am pleased with it.

Just go to ARF Pros. They are the North American distributor. VQ is one of their dealers.

RE: Bobcat 52 engine thrust
My CG is set at 10.3". Here's my dumb question.....Balanced with fuel in the tank or not? Normally a/c are balanced without fuel, but I'm on new ground here. My tank faces forward with 3 lines and long lines to the engine.

RE: Bobcat 52 engine thrust
ABout 3/16 of an inch...too much. So I'll have to elongate holes in the fuse to straighten the engine out to equial measurements. Manual says 10.3 " for the CG. I know there is controversey about that. I think I will need some nose weight.

Bobcat 52 engine thrust
Aircraft is assembled and straight...servos installed and all surfaces working properly......Fuel tank w/3 lines installed. What about engine right or left thrust? Should there be something? My engine has offset (crooked holes drilled by me). Measured to the nose of the aircraft this distance from prop tip is shorter on left than right. Make any sense?

RE: Rudder & Nose Wheel Hookups
Sorry, I was speaking about a Bobcat. I finally got the nosewheel mixed so rudders (2) and nosewheel work together. Ruddes are both hinged and servo arms are on the inside of the side pieces...therefore they BOTH work inward or outward. They are Y'ed together and a reversing Y connetor should correct that.....Right?

Rudder & Nose Wheel Hookups
Guys, I may have made a mistake by putting rudders on 2 servos. They work opposite each other with a Y connector. A reversing Y connector will cure that. However, now I have no place to hook up the nosewheel servo. What do I do? Throttle, Ailerons and Elevator are all OK. Do I need a different receiver? I am trying to use a 6 channel JR. Help please,

RE: Bobcat 50 notes (nitro Planes)
Marty.......I also mounted the elevator servo in the tail boom. Using a ST .61 for power. Trying to use other tail boom servo for the rudders......a little tricky. Too cold to fly and cold in my shop too, I have cabin fever. I MAY have offset the engine a little, need to check it again. Is it STILL left thrust on a pusher if the prop tips are closer to the wing on left side? I have not even checked wheels yet, but with an 11" prop, clearance is close.

RE: Bobcat 50 notes (nitro Planes)
I too have the Grey and Orange version. Yep, a builders ARF. No trouble with the fixed gear on mine, but replaced the missing screws for the fins. Used one servo for the elevator and using a .61 ST engine. Not sure how I want to mount the fuel tank. I also have one in Patriot colors I'm going to sell. I think they are worth the money, but 8 servos for a four channel plane is a bit much.

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?
Nope the holes are not there. My "cat" has the wing tube thru the fuselage and 1 each in each wing to fit into the fuse. The strings for the servo wires were taped insite the wing too.

RE: Its Bobcat nice
The new kits are called retract-ready. And the are nice in fit and finish. My first one will be fixed gear. I'm using std servos in the tail......so 4 instead of 8. Not sure which engine I will buy to fly it though.

RE: Its Bobcat nice
Bob27.....those 'holes' are actually the location for the front hold down screws of the fins......I am working on the first of the three bobcats I just recieved this week......one in each color. The Retract-Ready kits have the fixed gear in the retract-gear position. Not the same as the picture you mention. I have not yet decided how to mount wings either, but a screw inside the fuse to each wing I think will work. By the way, will a ST 51 ABC fly this airframe?

RE: Its Bobcat nice
I just recieved my 3 Bobcats yesterday.....one of each color. Assembling the Grey one now.........Great F/G fuselage, painted very well. The kit is retract ready, but you purchase and install them. Come with fixed gear components also. Covered components are very well done. I plan to sell the other two. Larry
