The battery question!
If I was too run (2) 3300ma 6s 40c batteries in parallel on my 600 heli, would I be getting 6600ma. Or am I still getting only 3300ma to burn off? Thanks! RCREDHOTS

RE: Cannot ascend above ground effect
Tying your heli down isn't the best idea.(I personal feel like it dangerous) I know it's fixed pitch but don't know much about it. It sounds like something changed like a setting in the radio or linkage something is broken. Did something happen from the time it was flying to now?
ORIGINAL: trahm My Falcon 40 flew well for a short time. Now with a fully charged battery, it will not get above ground effect no matter how far I advance the throttle. The blades seem to be spinning fast enough to generate lift but no go. If anyone can tie their helio down and measure the rotor rpm at full throttle, it would be helpful. Thanks, Terry
Hello Mike This is what I have on my HK 600 Hitec HS-422 servos X3 GY401 Gyro and S9254 servo Motor Turnigy 600 4330-1100 KV with 17 tooth pinion (you will have to do the frame mod) Turnigy UBEC 7.5 A running 5 v Hobby Wing 100amp speed control with bec disconnected 5000 ma 6s 40c battery (motor only) 2200 ma 3s 30c battery (servos and RX) I just sport fly maybe a few loops and a few flips. Good enough for me. Change the main gear and auto rotation, and also the tail drive gear. RE: Bone head move
Thanks All As for the wind direction EAST. Wind speed I will bet gusts up to 25 or 30 MPG I have a friend that has a full scale plane and I just need to call him. I have a idea in what area, but a 450 is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. I have been out 3 times looking, I didn't give up. But out of the 4 helicopters I fly that was the one I have had the most fun with. My son said he was going to go look for it. And a small bribe was in place. Thanks Again ALL RCREDHOTS

Maybe some day some hunter will find it and just maybe I will find it on my car port. I also don't have the cash to just replace my toys it takes me a little at a time (OVER TIME AT WORK) RC REDHOTS

RE: HK 600 clone
I put my HK 600 in the air a week or so back it was flying like a dream! I did a few loops, almost perfect did a few flips almost perfect! Then my 5 minute timer went off so I was landing and then the lipo alarm went off Oh well I wasn't high enough for a auto landing or did I have enough experience! Oh yes nice hard drop, servo, landing gear, motor shaft, rod end. (didn't take it out of throttle hold). All took place in about 3 seconds! But it was flying like a dream! Bottom line in all the excitement grabbed the wrong batter pack! 3300 ma 30c. Didn't know about the battery pack until I took it in the house and seen the 5000 pack on the table! And that was the answer why the lipo alarm was going off after only 5 minutes. And yes I know the difference from one to the other. (do for sure now) Just my 2 cents for the day. RCREDHOTS

RE: Speed Control Question
Thanks for your answer! 1st I am not exactly new in the helicopter hobby rusty but not new! I have a 250, 450, 500 and a 600 helicopter and fly them all! And yes you can mix up the packs! Example 3300 MA 6s 3000 MA 6s 5000 I have hover my 600 on one of the 3 packs (3000 ma and the 3300 ma pack) I was setting up the helicopter and was going to fly and went into the house to get the 5000 ma pack (full Charged) and grabbed the 3300 ma pack!(see now) yes it is different in size but in the excitement! took the wrong pack. What was a easy 5 minute flight turned out to be only a 4 minute and 45 second flight. And yes I do use a timer and a lipo alarm on the helicopter! I could not figure out why the alarm was going off on the helicopter ONLY after 4 minutes and 45 seconds of sport flying! ( a few loops and a few flips) And yes it was the 3300 ma pack I strapped on the helicopter And as for the speed control/s I don't have junk, so what you buy is what you get don't hold. The original question was about the cut off. Oh yea to low to auto rotate. I may just need a check list!
ORIGINAL: mcdaniel HI THERE WELL FOR HELI YOU NEED SOFT CUT, SO WHEN THE ESC SEE LOW VOLTAGE IT WILL REDUCED SPEED, SO YOU CAN SAFETY LAND, THERES NO REASON TO INDICATED THAT YOU CAN CRASH YOU MODEL, IF NOT SET RIGHT. IN THIS HOBBY YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY... GET DECENT BRAND ESC YOU WILL BE FINE. USUALLY ESC USES AUTOLIPO DETECTION FEATURE SO NO WAY THE ESC CONFUSE BATT AS YOU DESCRIBED. SET RIGHT AND YOU BE FINE. FOR 450 HELI RANGE OF 30- 40AMP.
Speed Control Question
Speed control Question???? I don't want to pick any particular brand. This is a general question! On a helicopter do you use the low voltage cut off? (soft / hard ) or not at all! I know it's is to keep the battery pack from going below a set voltage, to protect the battery I had two incidents in the past year dumb me grabbed the wrong battery pack and it cost me repairs. And Yes I the packs were charged just different ma's I knew I was able to fly safe for 5 minutes with time to spare (with the correct pack), but for reasons I am not going to go into I just screwed up. tail rotor assembly side plates on a 500
I can't find my original post asking if anyone has tried to cross bolt the tail rotor assembly side plates on a 500 (EXI). (in more depth bearing plates) And the answer is yes you can, and it will clear the belt. I drilled out the assembly so the 2.5 mm socket head screw will trap the two side plates and used lock nuts and washers. So far so good. RCREDHOTS
