Dave, Is the vent fitting at an angle in the brass tube? That should create a vacuum to pull the excess oil out. Jim

Dave, I like the extension you have on the muffler. Is that a rivet holding it? I hope you are feeling better. Jim

Aerofinn, You will not see a performance increase over the stock muffler with the TurboHeader but it should be an improvement over what you are using now. Visit our site an see what other customers are saying. You should be able to tune the engine down below your current rpm's. You may have another issue to deal with. Let us know if we can help. Good luck. Jim

Cougar429, The muffler can make a major difference in performance. The chamber size and back pressure will have an affect on stability, fuel flow, and performance through all rpm ranges. Jim

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Gartwood, You want to avoid loading up an engine too much in any case. Use a three blade that will keep your engine in a proper rpm range. I believe the one you have is too much prop for that engine, given the rpm you stated. Jim

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Garthwood You have that 125 loaded up with the Graupner. You should be up around the low 9K's. At that weight the airplane will fly but may be sluggish. Unload it and let it work. Follow the normal tuning process with a different prop. Jim

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Hobbsy, The 10mm TurboHeader will obviously not fit the .30 and the 40a with a 9mm exhaust thread. There may be some retuning requirements for engines with that displacement. The 10mm TurboHeader was designed for the .52 to .62 displacement range. As for the angle, the adapter would provide more flexibility but the TurboHeader can be mounted directly onto an engine with the 10mm thread. My chart shows the .30 and the .40a to have a 9x .75 thread. Jim

Cory, That is a modification that I will leave to the end user. That would be getting away from its main purpose. Thank you for the suggestion. We also have a new engine application chart on our site. It breaks things down by engine model. I apologize to the moderators if this post is not appropriate. Jim

Hobbsy, Thanks for the info. I don't think the TurboHeader was tested on anything below a .52. I need to add the .40 to my chart. Let me know how it does with the different prop. Jim

Bob, I ran a MA 14x7x3 on my Hanger 9 Corsair with a FA-100 for awhile. It ran in the low nine's. I went back to a two blade because I didn't get the speed I wanted. It did fly well though. It is probably close to the performance of a 12x8x3. Jim This post was for Stokey not Bob. Sorry!

Hi Dave, These are not on the site. They were a special order for a customer and I had a few extra made. They all have a 12mm thread. Jim Cory, I am not sure how much back pressure you would get if you tapped this fitting.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Cory, Using the 90 degree adapter should not result in a power loss. However, the header pipe should not be threaded in passed the bottom of the female threads in the adapter. Doing so could create a restriction in flow. I have many customers using this arrangement with no power loss. Jim

Cory, If you are using the Saito 90 degree with the stock muffler you will probably have problems. They recommend it for their flexible exhaust only.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Greg, I have to disagree. There may be no way to tune by modifying the timing however, there is a small window to maipulate the exhaust pulse in both 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines to achieve better performance. The 4 stroke is much more forgiving in this regard than two strokes. I am looking forward to your studies on this issue. Jim

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Johnboy, You did not mention any adjustment to the high side needle. Saito's will vibrate when rich. Follow the standard tuning procedure if it is rich when at full throttle. Eliminate a tuning problem before looking at a crank problem. If you lean the high side it may smooth out. Get the tune right and then look at other issues. You may want to do a run out of the crank if problems persist. Good luck. Jim
