Has anybody used ESP wheelie bar for PEDE or RUSTY?
Has anybody used the [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXF313]ESP Wheelie Bar[/link]? How was it compared to a swami? Sturdier? My Swami keeps bending when I land on my ass[:D]. Thanks for your suggestions.

Slash Durability vs Stampede/Rustler ??
This question is mainly for the ones who have owned both types of cars. I would think the slash would be more durable since the wheels and suspension don't stress and work as much as a Pede or Rusty. Am I right? Also, I understand that with upgraded parts, they all can be bullet proof, but lets just assume we leave them STOCK. If so, I might sell my old E-maxx and get a slash with a VXL system. Thanks for your opinion.

FLM Stampede A-Arms turnbuckles???
So what turnbuckels should work with the aluminum A-arms? The stock are 61mm, but is not enough to reach in without poping out and stripping the threads at the ends. I tried the old e-maxxes which are 108mm but they are too long. Anything in between that fits Stampedes? Like a 70'ish -80mm?? Thanks for your help.

I'll take a look at those. I don't know why it is really hard to find this simple info. I've been trying to find out what is an exact fit of turnbuckles for FLM a-arms on a Stampede...is not that hard for somebody to tell me, is it ??????? Any way, do you know the size on these? Part #'s and manufacturer? Thanks for your help.

Wow, I guess the old E-maxxes were better quality. I bought mine used (not sure how old it was) then ran it over a year myself before I had to change one of them, now its still running strong. Original always the best?[8|]

Whats a good discharge rate when cycling batts??
I was out of this for almost three months and can't remember what is a good discharge rate when cycling batteries. I have two 8.4v 3000 nimh batteries for my emaxx and want to bring them back to life. I use the MRC 989 charger. I know for charging you go by 10% of the nimh's...(3000=3 amps) Thanks for your help.
ORIGINAL: AutoXMan To me it looks like an age/money/maturity factor. Most of the people against lipos can't afford it. How many people run both and still prefer NiMH? I don't think their will be too many.
well, I guess Im one of the "not too many" that can afford LIPO's but wont switch over to 'em. I just don't see the point of getting more uncontrollable power in my VXL, when the 6 or 7 cell gives me crazy power and can't stop wheeling....unless you want to brake stuff all the time, which means more down time and less fun. Thats just me, maybe im getting old.

They work great and last a while on NON-BRUSHLESS setups. Brushless makes them heat up too much that they'll eventually die quicker.

If these three options were the last on earth, I would go with redcat. But for that price, you could get better cars or save a little more and get a decent brand.

Would a VXL fan fix the typical wire problem??
Has anybody actually had the VXL ESC's wires come off then after fixing them or having it replaced by Traxxas, installed a VXL fan and had the issue gone for good? I just got my second ESC installed on my Pede and I'am thinking about buying the fan if I knew for sure that the heat was the problem. I don't run lipos, but apperantly it still happens with NIMH's. I also already opened up a hole right on top of the ESC area after I installed the second one. Please reply only if this has happened to you or know of somebody who actually did this. Thanks for your help.

Duratrax 8T racing ESC has steady light...
I can't seem to reset it or program it. It stays on and wont send any signals to motor or servo. Is there certain radios/frequencies these won't work with? I replaced the old futuba thinking it was bad, but my traxxas receiver is doing the same. Sometimes when I try different crystals it will activate by itself, but most of the time the green light is on with no effect when I press the button next to it. Thanks for any help I can get.

Codbuster tires on E-maxx, is it possible?
Has anybody done this? I like the look of the "real" monster truck tires, the luchbox has similar tires. Are any of these wheels compatibe with the e-maxx or stampede? What hex size do they use? Or is there similar tires or wheels for E-maxx (besides the jumbo kong's, those are way too big). Just something similar to this.... RE: new to electric.....
As far as maintenance, just spray your motors every 5 runs or so with motor cleaner, then lube the bearings where the shaft is. Unless you run it in a dirty dusty place, then clean it after each run. Also I recommend you clean/dust everything else preferably with high pressure air. Have fun and welcome to the electric world[:D].

RE: STAMPEDE or E-MAXX??
ORIGINAL: Lilredmachine Rhylsadar is correct. They are two totally different trucks. You would lose nothing in having both, as has been said the E-maxx is a whole different kettle of fish. The Stampede feels like an RC as it is light, two wheel drive and if bought with the VXL has comedy levels of power. The E-maxx is more serious for offroading and feels like a bull in comparison. Do not buy an original E-maxx anymore though, the first version was/is cack, the new one still has problems but is better in terms of durability.
Hmmm, new ones more durable? I've seen pictures of guys with broken stock chassis in their firt run...so not sure about that one. I have an old one and like I mentioned before, I beat the hell out of it and no bulkheads broken or suspension parts. I do have RPM arms and skid plates and removed front bumper to releif stress on the bulkheads. I do agree with you about E-maxx feeling like a bull, more like a "real" monster truck, you can feel the torque and hear the sound of the "real" tires on the road.

I know the ESC and motor are also a good hop up plus shocks, cvd's etc.. shipping was $8. What do you guys think?

RE: STAMPEDE or E-MAXX??
Well, I have both, and I can say I wouldn't sell neither. E-maxx is just in a different fun dept. It wheelies, jumps, climbs, offroad on grass easily. Pede, fun on loose dirt, street, not too much on grass, it can get hot perty quick, unless you change gears everytime. As far as maintenance, once you RPM the suspension and skids on your e-maxx, there is not much else you have to do other than cleaning your motors and lube them. Just make sure you have the right mesh, and don't tighten the slipper too much, and you wont break nothing. Im still running stock tranny with nothing broke. Due to its weight, your body will always be trashed, but that is the only drawback. I would sell one Pede, then put the difference and get a good used upgraded Maxx one fron e-bay. Good luck with your decision.

I don't see why not, they share the same suspension arms. Try it, you'll like it. I have the extensions for the axles on my rustler. They are wider, but they did not fit perfectly. I had to grind them down to make them fit. You can find them [link=http://www.wheelextensions.com]here[/link] Good Luck
