An old pattern plane - the Eyeball - had no dihedral and the engine, wing and stab all on the same line. It flew well. Paul

I don't use wood glue like titebond because it contains water and water and balsa don't mix. Sorry - I disagree. It isn't the moisture in wood glue that makes a warped anything (except, don't use it to laminate). Its the builder. I've been using "yellow glue" for well over 50 years and it is excellent. Use the CA and hope it doesn't make you sick! All types of glue have their place - it is knowing where to use what.

For me, it will not make a difference. I love to build and love to build from plans best of all. Sure wood and other materials are expensive but it is the reward of making somethin that actually functions and looks good too. Paul

RE: fuel proof spray paints?
OK The basic colors of Rustolium are fuel proof, to 15% at least - red, yellow, white, black,etc.. Not the metalics, not the clear. Krylon polyurethanes are fuelproof - I don't think the others are. Let Rustoleum dry for several days or longer. Remember, you cannot put just any paint over any other paint. Try a small spot for compatibility. You can always paint a piece of cardboard, let it dry for while, then put fuel on it an let it set. Paul

RE: Sig Koverall Application Process
In step 1 you can apply the nitrate to the ribs as well as long as in step 2 you only adhere the Koverall to the perimiter of the framework. Shrink and then dope the whole surface. By doing the ribs, you will get better adhesion. Paul

RE: Como .50
Como engines (made by ST) have not been around for a very long time. Your description of what the high and low needle valves look like (not where they are located) seems reversed from what I remember. ST had a carb of the week in those days. Ed's technique is an old but excellent start. Paul

I use an "F" plug in all my engines 0.60 and above - especially STs. Sounds to me like a tank, fuel line problem. Pin hole? I also add a little castor to my fuels and never use less than 18% oil. Paul
