RE: Keep RC Sailboat maintained
Thank you very much Islander, that are a lot of good tips. I normally put the everything together again after the greasing. Just out of curiosity - Why do you recommend to leave them off?

RE: Keep RC Sailboat maintained
Hi K4s, I was asking as I wanted to share it for my blog (and I can use the tips for myself as I will need to put my sailboat in storage for some time). And Ed - I sail in both. What would you recommend? Thanks.

RC Sailing Gadgets - New iPhone App
Hi, [image]http://www.rcsailboatguide.com/wp-content/uploads/bfbbcc51e2793a8.jpg[/image] I got this really interesting iPhone application send to me. It can measure wind speed via the microphone and even seems to be quite accurate - [link=http://www.rcsailboatguide.com/rc-sailing-news/quick-product-review-iphone-wind-meter-useful-gadget]more details here[/link] That got me questioning, what kind of gadgets do you have for this hobby? The only thing I have is a Leatherman toolkit and that is not very special.

RE: catamaran sailboats
Would be curious is well. I found this one with a funny youtube video and a partial plan [link=http://www.rc-sailboats.com/catamarans.htm]Catamaran Plan[/link] You should probably check this site on the Victor Model [link=http://bereznai.250free.com/tableofcontents.html]Victor Wildcat[/link] Looks pretty nice. And Megatech has one, but it's more a toy then a real RC sailboat.

Free Sailing Model Boat Introduction
Hi, George was so nice to write an article on free sailing of model sailboats on my blog and I really wanted to thank him here again about it. Check it out if you are so curious as I was to understand what [link=http://www.rcsailboatguide.com/rc-sailboat-general/free-sailing-model-sailboats-introduced-by-george-steele]free sailing model sailboats[/link] are. It's an interesting hobby, but I think I currently stay with the RC part. Maybe I am just a "control freak"[:D]

RE: Future RC-Multihulls!
[quote]ORIGINAL: Idealist This is definitely a proa - therefore a multihull! Also called polynesian outrigger - as it has one big and one small float. As long as it would fit into a square of 122 cm X 122 cm (including the rigg) it would be even qualified for the Mini40 class. But it seems to be a one-way-boat without rc-equipment. Further development required - are you willing to digg into that? [/quote] Thanks Idealist. You are right it isn't a RC sailboat. Somehow I had thought the guy was carrying a control, but watching the video more closely I saw it was just the whole fumble of stuff on his boat.

RE: Future RC-Multihulls!
Did any of you see this crazy monofoil sailboat. [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfRRMdeXBx4&NR=1[/youtube] Now is that categorized as a multihull? Kind of hard to say I thought because of all those bits and pieces on it.

RE: History of RC Sailboats
Hi Larry, we had already contact via email but for the rest - I am not a RC Sailboat Expert. I read a lot on it and have found a lot of good stuff on rc sailing / model sailboats which I want to bring together at one spot for everyone interested in the topic. I also have a few links to products I really like or other people recommend to me. I am really keen for any thing that somebody wants to share on this topic, so just contact me and I am quite happy post what you found.
