RE: which would you guys recommend?
ORIGINAL: electricrc68 Â well im thinking of getting a nitro over the summer. i was thinking between the shockwave and volcano s30 since they are single speed and i only want a single speed. which one do you guys think i should get? also, how much louder is the volcano s30 than the shockwave since it has a tuned exhaust?
You asked about the Volcano, The Volcano s30 is single speed not 2 speed. The tornado s30 is 2 speed. Sound is about the same on the shockwave and the volcano.

it will work, but at a cost, both $ and weight. Most hardware stores have rubber undercoating that works well. Also any elsatmer epoxy will work too

RE: Convert NiMH Tamiya to Deans?
ORIGINAL: Jhawk19 Perfect. Thanks. I've just read on here that the Tamiya is not a good connector for LiPo's b/c it doesn't allow for the transfer of power that the LiPo's require.
Yes deans will take more current then tamiyas. They have more meat (metal to metal) and use different case material. We have both if you want them let us know. You will need to solder them. What gauge wires are on the lipo's you bought ?

RE: which redcat to get
ORIGINAL: Capn kanuckles Awesome thanks so much for your help,i've got some think'n to do.I really like that caldera,is the caldera a new model or has it been around for a while. It seems that there is more parts available for the volcano on ebay.Out of the two which do you recommend.I like the fact that the caldera is bigger,in my small mind i think that means more stable.Right.
BSD and HSP are manufacturers. What ever you buy, buy from a Redcat Dealer. AVOID Ebay. You will get better service and parts help from a real dealer. While there are many good dealers on ebay, some are not so good and will not be able to help you with your problems. Caldera 10e is a great truck.

RE: Help Tornado S30 Wont move!!
Yup that would do it. Check all drive cups and tighten the grub screws on the flat spots. Try using locktite or rtv to help keep them secure. The one on the brake side must line up with the brake disc.

RE: Need help identifying parts
ORIGINAL: Mangiapane85 Hey everyone, so last thursday, i received my redcat shockwave in the mail. All i have to say is this rc hobby is in my blood now. I'm addicted! However, I've already trashed the right front suspension on the car. During break-in, i bounced it off a sidewalk at about 25 mph. The right front wheel hit just right apparently cuz it snapped what I'm GUESSING is the C-Hub. Not real sure exactly what all I need, but it looks like I need a new right front axle and whatever this part is that goes around the axle, which all i can find on a schematic that looks close to it is the c-hub. I'll also need the retainer pin for the wheel and a new wheel nut. Would it be better to order everything for the right front just to know that I'll be covered, especially considering no LHS's carry redcat parts around me? I'd have to try to describe to redcat over the phone what I need, and that won't be easy considering I'm pretty much brand new to the hobby. Or can I send the car back to them and they fix it? Not sure if they do things like that. Guess I'll just have to wait til Monday and call them. But I'll try and post a pic of the aftermath so maybe some of you guys can tell me what exactly I need. I just wanna hurry up and get it fixed so I can get to know her a little better! And I'll definitely be more careful that's for sure. I know it's only a .16 motor, but this thing hauls ass!! Anyways, I know this was a cluttered post with no real direction, but I was just seeing if that description rings any bells for any of you, and if it did, what you had to replace?
02033 would be th estub axle http://www.rctoysnh.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=3581 02015 would be the c-hub (also available in aluminum, blue or purple) http://www.rctoysnh.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=77_86_101&products_id=2389 Alum http://www.rctoysnh.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=77_86_101&products_id=4411 The other part in the suspension is the Front Hub Carrier http://www.rctoysnh.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=3776 Anything else let us know

RE: Tornado S30
ORIGINAL: Torch39 Ok story is IÂ bent three front shocks so far. Tech IÂ bent one my brother bent 2. IÂ was just tooling around the yard this morning not beating on it not jumping high at all. IÂ have no idea how I did it. Luckly IÂ just took a wrench and bent it back and the shock works fine. IÂ was just wondering if anyone recommends a stronger shock that will fit the tornado. Might look into replacing them with stronger ones in the future so I dont have to worry about them bending. thxs.
Depends on what you bent. The tower or the shock strut itself. Both can be a condition of incorrect coil over spring tension. If strut is bent then tighten the spring tension nut.
ORIGINAL: Torch39 IÂ love the look of the new airplans you guys just came out with. But man would IÂ also love to see some boat models!!!!!
We have stocked and sold Gas Nitro and Electric boats in the past. Yes they are fun. They also have other problems. 1.) If you hit something they sink,if not all the way, have to go diving to retrieve and then pray the engine did niot suck in water, especially if salt water. 2.) If you loose communication,or power , ie out of range, they are set to go in a widening circle, most of the time you have to paddle out to get them back :( But all that aside Yes they are a blast

Make sure you buy a hard pack, not a soft pack. You will need a balance charger. We have one at the following link that describes what is involved with balance charging, and care of lipo batteries. http://www.rctoysnh.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=77_81&products_id=4342 The Caldera is setup for 2s lipos. 2s is the number of cells in series. 1 cell = 3.7 volts. 2 x 3.7 = 7.4 volt. Bear in mind the higher the voltage the faster you go, but also this will make the esc run hotter. We also have this battery help guide here, http://www.rctoysnh.com/files/batteryhelp.htm

RE: Threadlock safe to use with plastic?
ORIGINAL: nitronut423 Hi everyboby is there any threadlocker or glue that is safe to use on screws that screw into plastic.I am worried that regular blue threadlock will either melt or damage the plastic,or be impossible to remove without stripping the threads out of the plastic part. I have heard people say they use CA glue but this gives me the same concerns., and i really dont want to experiment and cause myself problems without asking somebody else first.
Cheap RTV works. Little on threads acts as shock absorber and prevents screws from backing out. Also smaller screws can be retained using a drop of nail polish on the head

You may have the coil over springs on the shocks too tight. For more give in corners and to get more squat out of the suspension loosen the top spring nut. Also check for binding or bent shock shaft.
