RE: Little Ezra Smiles!!!!!
Chip I followed the other thread untill it was closed.. All I can say is you are an awesome person to give an RC like that away.. I have a Pro pulse truck that I was going to give to him when I read the first post.. It needed a set of shocks but for a couple dollars it could have been up... me not to mention more money than I had in mine.. If I was willing to sacrafice a RC I seen no reason

Dude.. If I rented a RC no lie id launch that thing as far and high as possible.. I dont want to break mine.. so why not rent yours and bring it back in a shoe box???? Bad idea man... And If you charged a deposit that cost the same amount of money as the car then youll never have any customers..
ORIGINAL: MPevine11 who voted T-maxx and why?
I was the first one who voted for the Tmaxx last night... I voted for it because its what I have haha.. And when I was looking at buying a truck I looked at the Revo and The Tmaxx I chose the Tmaxx because for one it was cheaper and two I liked the way it was laid out better than how the Revo was.. The reason I didnt post anything last night is because I knew everyone would just say Revo was better and get mad about me saying the Tmaxx lol

Check the crank case for cracks.. You probably cracked it which means air is leaking in and leaning your engine out

Half Tank Lean
Does half tank lean affect each truck differently?? Mine seems to have a horrible leaning issue.. I tune it with half a tank like everyone said.. The result? The first 1/4 tank bogs from being rich the next 1/2 the tank runs awesome and the last 1/4 bogs from being lean.. I spent all day yesterday reading threads on this issue and found alot of mods that "help" the half tank lean issue like the header mod and uniflow mod all that stuff.. from what I could tell the only way to actually fix the problem is to replace the tank with another one right?? Well everything I seen said to use an Ofna tank.. But which tank?? and also it said I had to move the battery box.. Id rather find a fix that I didnt have to do that if possible.. Will the pro line run time tank rid my truck of the half tank lean problem?

RE: Project Bigfoot
Yeah the steering wheel will be coming out and ill be extending the cab back to make it look a little more real.. But thats going to be after i finish the actuall car ha.. I havent had any time to work on this yet as stated I work 60 hours a week and my only day off is sunday.. which last sunday was Easter so I still couldnt do anything.. However I have been networking and come up with alot of the basic parts so far.. So far I have the truck body, Plenty of angle iron to make the chasis, My uncle got I think a 50cc Honda motor (Not sure yet exactly havent seen it yet), And ive got 2 window wiper motors to figure somthing out with the steering.. I read all those threads talking about making a servo from the wiper motor with an H bridge board? It sounds like it would work perfect but Im horrible when it comes to electronics so im not sure I can pull it off.. I may have to go about things in a more mechanical way.. Right now the set up ive been thinking about would be to have springs on each of the steering knuckles that would pull the steering back centered when the wiper motor is not engaged.. Of course this would mean I have no proportional steering at all and It would be full lock in either direction that I turn.. Its very confusing ha.. But Ill get it working one way or another

I took my Tmaxx to my sisters house to bash with my brother in law.. He broke the pull start on his Tmaxx so he had to run his 1/8th buggy... Then we wrecked head on ha.. He broke my tie rod so we spent about 30 minutes rigging somthing up outta spare parts and went back to bashing [>:]

A very minimal thin metal chasis.. Thats why I said I would be building one this weekend or whenever I can I work 60 hours a week so sundays are my only day off.. And yeah Ive been looking at the wiper motor servo builds, Ive actually even got a wiper motor in the shed that I could use.. But im not very good with circut boards and stuff.. Im not sure If I would be able to solder all that stuff up right but at the same time Im wanting to go with atleast Go kart sized tires and im just not sure a 1/4 scale servo would turn them..

Like I said its still in the planning stages.. Ill be starting to build the chasis this weekend, Since this is going to be a budget build ill probably be using some kind of angle iron or what ever else I can find cheap..

RE: Help Im Confused
Yeah at first I thought maybe I had done somthing wrong and messed the motor up because it just wasnt performing like I had thought it would compared to my buddies 1.5, I mean it didnt run fast but it always ran good it never bogged or tried to cut out WOT and I always had blue smoke, But now I dont think I killed it just yet after I richened it up it really showed its colors... If I gun it from a stand still it will flip on top of its lid now :) And yeah I had seen where colder wheather required a richer setting but like I said I thought that meant back up to 4 turns.. It really would have helped out if Traxxas would have said lean OR richen the HSN to tune for performance depending on wheather.. The way I took it was 4 turns was running really rich for break in settings..

RE: Help Im Confused
Well that makes since.. but I thought factory setting were as rich as it should run so I had no idea.. The insturctions say to lean it out for performance so thats what I did, but whatever Im glad I got the temp gauge I wouldnt have realized that my truck had so much more power in it.. Im stoked now ha.. I cant wait to get it out and see what I can get it to do.. So after a point leaning the engine will actually decrease performance?

Help Im Confused
Ok I got a temp guage last week but due to working 60 hours a week I wasnt able to get my Tmaxx out untill last night.. Well I reset everything to factory settings 4 turns out on HSN and 1 and a half on LSN.. So I drive it around a couple minutes to get it warmed up and bring it in to check the temp, I was shocked to see what it was running.. 283F!! at factory settings??? So I turn the HSN out 1 turn.. Now Im at 5 turns out on the HSN and 1 and a half on the LSN... All I have to say is HOLY SHIT!!!! this thing starts running like a bat out of hell Ive never had it run this good.. Not only does it start wheeling now (Which it hadnt done before) But it has so much power it will flip backwards... I didnt have the chance to see how the top end was doing with that setting.. The temps dropped to about 210-220F sadly it got dark out and I had to put it up.. But why?? If the factory setting is 4 turns out and your suppose to lean it to get performance why does mine get better performance at a richer tune?? Oh and incase its important: Tmaxx 3.3 4908 1 month old about 1/4 to 1/2 gallon through it (thats Including what was used for breakin) running traxxas 20% fuel

RE: Idle problem
Glad it worked for you.. Im just a guy trying to learn how to tune thats how I knew what was going on lol.. I just still cant understand how tapping the breaks drops the idle back to normal when it didnt have anything to do with the linkages or anything.. Ha I was just as confused as you when my Tmaxx was doing it...

My Tmaxx has done id say atleast 100 or so.. Hard to tell in a 88 F150 where the speed ends at 85 I had it wrapped all the way to the N in PNRD12 so your guess is as good as mine

RE: Idle problem
I have a T maxx My truck was doing this when I first got it.. The LSN was just a little to lean for some reason that was making the idle stick high untill I tapped the brakes then it went back to normal.. Im not sure why tapping the brakes made the idle go back to normal but it did.. anyway I reset my carb to factory settings and re tuned now I have no problems
