RE: KAOS 60 Elevator Question
Odd thing about the Kaos is the forward slanted horn on the bottom side of the elevator gives more up than down
Mike, I hesitate to disagree but I think the swept forward horn on the bottom will give, as it should, more down than up. Ray

RE: KAOS 60 Elevator Question
As Joe puts it in the UFO article - "to equalise the response of the aircraft to elevator inputs". This type of mechanical differential set up was quite common in reed days to equalise the diameter of inside and outside loops and as shown will give more down than up. A bit redundant now with proportional control and the ability to adjust everything using transmitter software. Ray

RE: Just ain't my day!!!
Billmod12 - that's a real mess and you have my sympathy. Aviation ( models and fullsize) has a nasty habit of biting you in the bum if you get a bit casual and drop your guard. Similar thing happened to a friend of mine when charging an unattended battery. His garage burnt down and he was very lucky to save his house. Anyway..... keep smiling. Onwards and upwards. Ray

RE: NEED DB's SOUTHERN SORGHUM
This stuff is good and seems similar to what Vic described. Can also be used for fuselage doublers. The 12" wide sheet is probably best for our applications. [link]http://apps.webcreate.com/ecom/catalog/product_specific.cfm?ClientID=15&ProductID=20661[/link] Ray

RE: Lou Andrews aeromaster bipe ..Any info ??
How old was the Aeromaster in the photo?
At least two years old. Information in the other Aeromaster thread suggests that Ernie Huber and Lou started building the prototypes together. Ernie finished his first and entered it in the 1965 Nationals. Lou's (the one in the 1968 photograph) was used in the first kit ad in 1966. Ray

If it was this one that he flew at the 1965 Nats, then according to a table in the November 1965 RCM he used - ST 60, Top Flite 11X8 prop, K&B Fuel, Bonner servos, F&M Digital Tx & Rx. Ray

Here's Jim with a development of the Deception called the Silhouette. Placed 5th at the 1984 Nationals. Rossi powered. Other two shots are an earlier (1980) mid wing version called Double Vision. Ray
However, I did build mine in 1983!
Baah...the new fangled, modern version [:D] Daniel. It was quite common back then to use something like an OS 19 but a 20 four stroke would be pushing it a little. A 40 four stroke would be perfect however. Ray
