RE: Can i Form Lexan at Home?
our buds in the next buliding have a couple of machines they made.... "Just Bodies" they can snap out 3 bodies to 6 depending on the size.... i think they even sell the plans but there not cheap !!! the machines they have one is big enough to do a a Fender of a car... the other one is about big enough to do 3 to 4 buggy bodies at once.... we asked about it and they said the same...you pretty much have to be able to heat the "Lexan" evenly.... like in an Oven or a bigger type thermal oven like they have where a big sheet will come down on the molds..... the Oven is the critical part... ourselves we sell lexan but for most it is not cost effective for most to buy and have shipped.... because there in big 4 foot by 8 foot sheets..... and depending on "Thickness" can run up to 80.00 to 100.00 which still not too bad for around 3 to 4 bucks a square foot considering if you ever seen it in hobby stores !! there like 20.00 for a "Tiny Sheet" of around 1 foot by 14 inches..... i think some hardware stores carry some sizes but not a big selection.... but overall a small household Vaccum wont be able to pull .040 lexan sheets "Efectively" and with .060 dont bother it cant pull it...

RE: Wanted: Paint Schemes and Ideas
but when ya get into some more stuff Spiro the door is wide open.... it's pretty cool !! try and get into a system, i know can be costly? at first but well worth it if you like to do it.... more stuff to get inspired from hope it can help.... cool part is you can probally get into a system for around 200.00 and maybe around 150.00 if you really poke around... (airbrush, compressor) i use Iwata's but regardless what kind you get make sure you feel Comfortable with it... and can get parts for it if anything happens to it etc... and any compressor your get just be sure you have a water trap and filter/regulator on it it will help down the road

RE: AirBrush systems
well there is a number of systems to get .... but here is an Upside for getting a Compressor in General that is around 2 to 5 gallon.... you can use it around the house for various projects, almost countless to mention....airtools and gerneral cleaning as well... but for what ever one you do get be sure has a filter for Moisture etc.... now on the smaller ones, here are some pics of some that work really well for the basic "Hobby" and craft uses..... myself i have a pair of "Great White" compressor systems but dont recommend those unless your pretty serious !! here are some vids that maybe can help here..... in the video i like to point out i am using a "AIR GUN" but however the same principal applies to using a "Spray Can" http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v495/1blade1/?action=view¤t=RCcarpaintpt1.flv http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v495/1blade1/?action=view¤t=rccarpaintpt2.flv http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v495/1blade1/?action=view¤t=rccarpaintpt3.flv http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v495/1blade1/?action=view¤t=rccarpaintpt4-1.flv http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v495/1blade1/?action=view¤t=rccarpaintpt5.flv http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v495/1blade1/?action=view¤t=rccarpaintpt6.flv http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v495/1blade1/?action=view¤t=rccarpaintpt7.flv http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v495/1blade1/?action=view¤t=rccarpaintpt8.flv http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v495/1blade1/?action=view¤t=rccarpaintpt9.flv the Unedited one is the same but better quality on the recording but this should help some with some basic questions.... as well it's about an hour long.... but hope this basic one can help.... if there is anything else anyone would like to see here tell me....i'll do a simple video of it....

RE: Wanted: Paint Schemes and Ideas
humm, well for no airbrush...(thinking) there are a few...ideas? but mostly there is a few other than "Spray" there is one like what Ciao (another member here)will do mostly like from "Drawing" with hobby paints and such, then spaying with a backing color... has a very cool effect....though some "Artistic" ability will be needed...some may not like to do it like this...?? but it is a fun and Unique effect.... if only to use a "Spray" can....i have a few that were done Using a spray can.....though will "Look" airbrushed...can see some at www.rgxracing.com most of what i'll gear some of what i'll do will be more "Simpler for the Average r/c racer" that wants to keep it simple but kinda racey...... heres one for a "Middle of the road" kinda paint thing..... was something simple but still racey...and used the spray cans and a "Tooth Brush" to get that "Speckled look"...... and here's another one that you can get a simular result from Hotglue and spray cans..... and one thing that can help for "Spraying" is warm the can a little in warm to medium hot water.....not too hot !! this will cause the spray pattern to be a little Finer comming out...... and here is another one a simple but racey kinda design, this is one we used to do for CEN as we did most of there designs since there was some many we kept it kinda simple but generaly race looking... you can get the same with spray cans other than around the back (Black shading) and just behind the windows.... and under the silver stripe..... hope some of these can help....there is alot more but those are but a few i am sure other members can toss a few in there too..... have fun painting !!![;)] Oh, and show us when your done......[:D]

here's another one we did for a customer that had seen some pics we did for a exibit about 10 years ago....LOL... he remembered and broguht some pics from the Exibit !!!, and wondered if we could do it on his R/C Hummer... i was Skeptical at first as i dont do the "Cartoon Look" too good...i have a bad habit of trying to go "Reailistic".......so he said just make the "Aliens" look like a "Sticker" and the Planets kinda "Realish"..... so we said sure what the heck....[:D] it was Fun and i hope everyone likes as well..... RE: NEW California Track in RIVERSIDE
cool thanks, [:D] I'll do that...the rctech...???.....i'll be sure to check it in there..... yea, theres alot of tracks i must say......LOL.....but there different ones for different racing.... one track is a Quad, track...the other is a for Rhino's....(golf cart looking ones) but look like trophy trucks, it's kinda cool !!!!!! one is a "Supercross type" track...and a Minibike track...and the good O'l R/C tracks....(yup "Tracks") for me , yes i race the 1/10, 1/8 buggy/Truggies, Baja 5B/5T and when there is "Enough" there 1/4 scale..... theres a On-road big enough for the 1/5 and 1/4 scales too !!! it's slowly building up....but everyone is trying to decide either "Saturday" or Sunday Racing..... if enough show up on any given day, we'll start racing..... gonna be a few out there on Sat,(1/10/09) for some Testing and Practice....maybe some racing?? who knows....??? but been getting input for a Sunday race schedual....as some will race at Rev, or ARC....and the High desert... so maybe like to work with them on Scheduals....[:D]

RE: Polycarbonate spray for acrylic?
well you've come to the right place..... we happen to be a "Automotive" painter that happens to paint R/C cars.... for the most part for most automotive applications...because they will use various plastics on the car...you'll need to get some kind of Adhesion promoter..... bulldog and house of Kolor make these as well "DONT USE THE R/C TYPE ADHESION PROMOTERS ON YOUR REAL CAR"..... but use one of the other ones and you'll be ok.... from there yes you'll be able to use the Tamiya paints...not the greatest but they do the job...would recommend House of Kolor,AutoAir or PPG but if the Tamiya one is all you have in the color you like, you'll be ok just be sure to prep the surface good.... to start make sure there is no "Grease" road grime or waxes on it...clean it real good..then get a scottch brite (red) and slightly scuff it.... take your bulldog (they have it in spay can)...give it a light coat...wait a minute or 2 lightly hit it again... then paint as usual... make sure you have the rest of the car covered from any overspray..... when done you can hit it with a Commercial clear coat....bout 4 to 5 light to medium coats.... (wait for the coats to flash dry as by the cans instructions between coats) once dry....bout 24 hours you can Buff it out.... if unsure or you have any other questions let me know at www.RGXRacing.com

I am sorry i havent replied sooner...sometimes i just get busy and time kinda goes by...but i always answer my emails Razorgrafix23@hotmail.com as well from the new site that they have now rolling at www.RGXRacing.com but for the curve...well that part is easy...get some 1/8 inch tape.....and run it from one edge say like in the pic a wheel wel and "Slowly curve it" the tape will bend to a point, but becareful as there is a limit it can "Curve" but the slight curve there is no problem.... the second line below it is "Airbrushed" with a Lighter color.....[:D] again sorry for not repling sooner....but i hope this can help.......[;)]

RE: Faskolor help
well for the Faskolor you'll need to reduce it....cause in it's "Raw" state it's kinda like a "Milkshake" really thick... some Auto air reducer will work... or try some AutoAir paint....they have some made for "Airbrushing" but the Faskolor is good to...just reduce it...it will make a "World of Difference" from there you'll be able to use lower Air pressure to get different effects......for example a "Lower PSI" can yeild some cool "Stippleing effects" like a "Stone look" or even make it look like "Stars" against a black background etc...... "Most Professional airbrush Artist" usually will run about 30 to 35 psi but that is not an "Absoulte" depends on "Feel" but around 30 to 35 is usual... most T-Shirt artist will work with around 50 to 65 psi for the Material they work with... and sometimes the effect with say a Solvent based paint you could get "Spider webs"...that happens when the "Paint" begins to dry before it hits the item your painting if a Higher Psi is used not all the time but it does happen from time to time......... not common with Water based paints but they do "Splater" if too high a psi is used and thinned too much... some basic guides to go by again not Concreat settings but here are a few...for most say Iwata's Revolutions etc.. around the consistancy of "Milk" same for the "Eclipse series etc....sometimes a little thinner if you have converted it to a "Finer tip etc." for the Custom Micron etc...about the consistancy of "Ink" Roughly.... here is an Example of how to combine and use different Stippleing effects... no, not mine exactly..... i figured i'd just "Help" pretty much like i like to do....if ya know what i mena...LOL... but i'll tell you what you guys from the desert come on down I'll hook ya guys up with some cool stuff....[:D] cause you guys were pretty cool to me !!! tell everyone i said Hello....[:D] anyways, the location is in Riverside i think this map might work? if not let me know... it's "located Within the Motorcycle park" !! kinda have to see it to Believe it... there is all kinds of different racing stuff there !! in one section there racing "Rhino's" !! they look like Miniture Trophy trucks !! another area there racing "Quads" another area there full flat out motorcycles !! it's just big.....LOL.... 12685 Holly Street Riverside, California 92509 if anything should see the Baja 5B's and 5T's run !! looks like the real thing kinda cool !!! the whole thing is still pretty new....but in one area there is some pretty big trees over the Pit tables so there's shade too when the heat is there. no power in all the areas "Yet"....but getting there....the dirt is STRAPPED !!!! it's been redone (not sure how that happened, hehehehe) siffted clay so not a whole lot of wear but i am sure at a big race it will as like "Silver State" will hold up pretty good... theres a really cool snack bar area right next to it....all and all very "Laid Back"....No pressure if you know what i mean.. and if you just dont feel like jetting home you can "Camp out there" a small fee...but it's cool after some racing there were a few small "Camp Fires" was DIALED... even sat in on a Marshmellow roast was COOL !!!!! Parts??..yes a very good question..."I Am Going to Work on that"....not alot "Now" but that is going to change "Soon"...i need to go into more "Negotiations" with a few companies.... last pics you can kinda see the paking area and places to go within the park(Aerial Veiw)..... that one was a older pic before the revisions, better now.
