RE: TF GS P47 Build - yeah another bloody one!!
Hey guys I have a fiberglass cowel, believe it's a fiberglass specialties, When I built the plane I ordered a Stans Fiberglass cowel, I was going to take the second and make functional cowel flaps, but the fiberglass specialities cowel isn't the same length and won't fit my set up. So I need to sell/trade for a stans fiberglass cowel. Ron Oh and nice jug[:D]

Charles if I may suggest when you build the wing. The landing gear area is weak, if you would like I can e-mail what I did to mine to beef it up so the gear stay in. I went through a steep learning curve on mine. Ron

Peter is right on all the aspects you mention. 1- The powerplant kind of depends on what you are doing with it, fully decked out bird go with a 80 or 90, sunday flyer 50 is fine. 2-dido with Pete 3- never go cheep on the gear, go Sierra al the way.

Servos??? I use Hightec digitals in mine, I don't think it matters to much just chose a good quality servo. I have right at $4,000.00 in my plane and I couldn't or wouldn't skip on the servos. Any help you need just ask or you can PM me. Tom is a great help also.[;)] Ron Where in atlanta are you from? I grew up in collegepark, Ga.

RE: GP LITTLE TONI ENGINE CHOICE
I fly one with a YS 1.10fz. I can change props for different types of flying. I use a 14x10 for aerobatics, or I can put on a 13x13 for speed. The 14x10 will do the largest loops you can think of and helps slow her down for landing. Ron

The new small gas engines are a great choice, no to mention you don't need expensive glow fuel.

RE: Top Flite P-47 Engines
Nice plane Slammin. My two cents is the satio will fly it, the YS 1.20/1.40 will fly it better and be just right. I say this as I have been flying on for 15 years with a YS 1.20nc engine, it is the perfect combo, I didn't need any nose weight, the motor is completely hidden, reliability is second to none, I've had one flame out in 15 years. The plane weighs 12lbs dry, has sierris retracts, flaps and full cockpit with pilot. It flies 90mph straight and level, it will not go vertical, but does nice barrel rolls. Great flying plane you'll love it. Give the 90 saito a go and let us know how she flies. (full report)[;)]

RE: Door Mechanism for a TF P47 Retractable Tail Wheel
Yes it is a robart, The plate is made from thin aluminum, that is mounted to the retract and the wire axel goes through. There is one small screw that holds it in place. The doors are made out of fiberglass. Sorta need to keep the weight of the system in mind. Ron

RE: Vailly P-47 Engine Question
Loopman imho the 60cc will be marginal. DA 85, zdz 90 etc. The term fly in a scale maner is not dependent on the size of the motor but the managment of the power. Long discussion in itself.[8|]

The return spring is kind of strong on my ZDZ 80. None of my glow engines have a return spring on them. Just wondering why a gas engine does, My weed eater and chain saw have the same type of carb, I see the need for a returne spring on them, but why on a model? Ron

9 minutes and used 24 oz's, thats 2.6oz's per minute. Looks like a 40 ounce would be about right for 15 minutes, but add a few more for a safty margin. Richard I have the same set up. you wouldn't have any video of you starting and flying would you? Ron

Pete I was wondering are you able to put the air cylinder in front of the wheel? I haven't installed mine yet but it looks like it would need to be behind the wheel. Not scale but would work. Ron

Thanks Richard for the kind words. Your right it does look like a brand new bird. I hope as it ages it looks more like a 70 year old bird. I have been using auto paint and it works really good. Ron
