RE: Balsa USA 1/4 Sopwith Pup build
I think the Nylon Rods will not be sturdy enough for the plane I would go a head and do the Pull-Pull setup you will like it much better And it will look more scale.

RE: CMP 120 Zero ARF Build thread
Prekin the retrcts will cysle 5 times but the last three are slow, to solve the problem I put a larger rebart tank in and then I get 5 completly good cycles with three more that are slow.. So go with a larger tank, Still at 90 - 100 PSI

RE: CMP 120 Zero ARF Build thread
Hello all, I ground looped the Zero a few weeks ago, the wheel came off and strut went in the grass and ripped the gear out and looseen the other. It was a easy fix and just the screws striped out but on the way over it hit the canopy and broke it. So if anyone out there has a new or good used one I NEED one... Thanks and have a great New Year.

Here's mine completed. Flys great a little torque on take-off so you need a little rudder. I have a Quadra 35 Mag, not overpowed but good power for scale flight..

RE: NEW DLE30!
A little help, I have a DLE30 converted to rear carb with a F.Bowman ring. Converted and mounted on plane noticed it was not running correctly. Noticed fuel leaking from the crankcase haft where it bolts togather. disassemblied the engine cleaned very well remounted and same if not worse. Can I make a gasket or should I try to get a new crankcase 1/2. It leaks badly at full but not noticable at low settings... What to do???

RE: CRRC 26cc V1 Low Compression
ORIGINAL: captinjohn Go to the engine conversions forum & read about the custom rings made by Frank Boman. Lots of data there. Here below is the link   Capt,n <a href=''http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/tt.asp?forumid=92''>http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/tt.asp?forumid=92
thanks Captin, I emailed Frank anbot the CRRC Ring.. I did notice you have a Trout fishing passion? I owned a Fly Fishing Shop & Guide service for about 15 years.. Sold the shop two years ago but still do a little guide work but mostly just fish. If you ever get to NC let me know and I will put you on a few. Thanks PS can you think of anything I could try or have overlooked on the crrc. On a 18X6 2250 to 7450 Rpm still nowhere like the 30cc DLE... Great engine..

RE: CRRC 26cc V1 Low Compression
Thanks Jim, but the engine is wet, prime the heck out of it and only burble, Ive let some of our seasoned modelers try and they can't get it to hand start. They say low compression..

CRRC 26cc V1 Low Compression
I have a fairly new 26CC V1 engine. The engine runs great but will not flip start. I can start with a starter and it runs fine. Have tried differant carb setting and timing. Does not help. The engine has about 1 1/2 gals of 32 to 1 lawn boy ashless. The compression is very low compared to my DLE that flips starts easy. I have checked for leaks and could not find any. I am running NGK #5 hot plug but have tried the #7 no differance. I thought about replacing the ring? Does anyone have any ideas?

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build
ORIGINAL: hoggle65 I found that same tube from Tower. Just wondering if the 1/2'' caps are really needed. With not a lot of experience with the big stuff, is there a chance the tube would shift and throw things out of lateral balance?
The plugs I made work great so theis no way for the tube to move or be off balance. I would make and install the if the you the tube from Tower..

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build
I got one from Tower http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXHP2 for $17.99 fits great its a little short about 1inch. I made a small wood plug of 1/2 inch and put in in both wing to take up the short CF tube. I have about 25 flight on a 26cc gasser. And I fly alot of 3D and I have jerked if real hard and all has been fine. No mods to the CF tube fits perfectly.

RE: Model Tech Yak 54 Build
Ale was 1.5" up and down with 50% dual rate. Elv almost 2" up & down with 50% dual rate, rudder as much as I could get. Expo on both ale & elv. 1st flight was with DR on, she still had a good roll rate but with rates off rolls are a blur. I tryed a few differant setting on expo I think both ended up around 25%. Still playing with CG but so far 3/8" back from the lead edge of the spar work good. Did add a little up thrust as she wanted to clime when I cut power made a little hard to land but now she settles up nice no tip stills.
