RE: Mode 1
My son and I both fly Mode 1. I started back in the late 60's with a Logitrol 5 channel. My son started about 4 years ago. He flys Mode 1 because I taught him. We can and do fly each others planes, but nobody else in our club can fly our planes as they are all Mode 2. Ralph White

RE: Rattle Can Painting Advice
Yes James, The red, blue and white colors I used were all regular rustoleum spray cans. I think the cans are all white, nothing fancy looking. I can't remember what the numbers on the colors are but I posted them on another thread on this same subject. I don't have the time at this moment... proof to higher nitro fuels but have not used above 10% nitro fuel. Ralph

Jon, The electric starter and glow starter belong to me. You can see them in Photo #9 in post 27 of the thread. My brother-in-law, Mark Thompson, lives in Madison. His phone number is (256) 464-0220. Can you give Mark a call and then meet with him so he can get the starter and glow starter to me. He knows where the flying field is or maybe you live close to him in Madison. Thanks, Ralph White

Dave II & III, We really enjoyed flying at the meet and visiting with you guys. I too hope it won't be too long before we can do it again. I'm hoping we will be able to come down again next year. I wish Dave III would have won the kit they gave away. Ralph

's Calypso, Dave Phillips Atlas and Nick White's Duirty Birdy in the pits. #2 Ralph White talking with Ron Van Putte while Nick White fuels Dirty Birdy. Had been about 30 years since Ralph and Ron and seen each other. #4 Ralph White with Fliteglas Saturn, OPS 60. Broken pipe header caused Ralph to fly son Nick's Dirty Birdy. #5 I believe these belong to Jamie Strong. #6 Nick White

Gary or Jon, We left out electric starter and glow plug igniter on the flight line (by gate #4). If you find them let me know and I'll have my brother-in-law pick them up. We enjoyed the contest. You did a great job running the meet. Hope we can make it back again next year. Thanks, Ralph White

Thanks for replying Dave, I meet Mike at the field today. He said he will dig through his stuff and see if he has one. Scott, I don't think the JB weld will have enough time to hold. It's broke right at the engine exhaush tab. See you all tomorrow, Ralph

Dave Phillips. I arrived at Huntsville today. Went to RC field for a few pratice flights. On the 3rd flight the header on my OPS broke. Do you have an Rear Exhaust OPS header I might borrow for a couple flights? Mine is the one that is straight but angled up about 10 degrees. I realize you may have already left but thought I would give this a try. See you tomorrow, Ralph

RE: Classic Pattern Primer August 11, 2012
Glad you guys had a good day of flying pattern. You need to have another Primer this year and actually judge a round or two. It is amazing how much better you will fly if you are actually being judged as if in a contest. Ralph White

Hey Dave, We're really looking forward to the contest also. It will be only our second contest this summer. Hope it's not as hot and humid as it was when we pitted beside each other at the Lake Charles Nats in '78. Ralph

RE: Huntsville BPA/CPA Contest
Nick and I are planning to be there this year along with our wifes and kids (Grand kids). I will be flying my Saturn that I have had since the mid 70's. Have an OPS .60 in it. Nick will be flying one of the new ARF Dirty Birdies with an OS .61 Rear Exhaust in it. Hope to get there Friday in time for a couple practice flights and some visiting. Ralph White

E-flite retract water proofing
I know I read in one of the Classic Pattern posts about water proofing the e-flite electric retracts. Remember it saying how the dew on the grass was enough to make them stop working. It talked about AeroTrend selling the product but their out of business . BUT I CAN NOT FIND THE POST. Can anyone help? Ralph White

RE: Dirty Birdy ARF
Does anyone here know what to do with the fuel pump on the OS .61 RF when I am not going to use the pump because it is bad? I am going to use a Perry Pump. Can I remove the OS pump from the backplate? It appears the back plate on my old OS 60 SF might fit. Would it work to replace the OS .61 RF with the OS 60 SF backplate? Ralph White
