RE: stinger jet from HK or VALUE HOBBY
Where did you find a Horizon Stinger? I don't see one on their website.

RE: Rotor Concept Quad Copter HPQ-1
Have you checked out their YouTube page? You might try asking a question there. Did he tell you anything about the Version 2 HPQ1? I was wondering what the difference was from the Version 1. In case you didn't know, the HPQ1 is the same quad as the LotusRC 380. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPK51aOYSfc

I just placed my Quark on ebay. It was only flown a couple of times and is in excellent condition. I have several helicopters and just bought a mQX so I need to sell it.

Parkzone J-3 Cub, Hobbyzone Super Cub both 3 channel. E-Flite Apprentice - 4 channel. You can't go wrong with these. Better quality and the best support.

RE: Rotor Concept Quad Copter HPQ-1
There is a video on Youtube for the binding now. I haven't got the nerve for liftoff yet but mine did bind following his directions. Make sure you use locktite on the spinner nuts because mine came off in a hurry from just spinning up the motors. If I get a windless day this weekend, I might grow a pair and leave the earth with it.

E-flite Scout. $50 at hobby stores, durable and repairable. Anything for less is junk.

RE: Buying advise
I would buy a coax like the MCX2 from Horizon and practice with it. You can use the DX6i for it if you buy a BNF model. I buy most of my Micros with RTF (I own 2 DX8s, 2 DX6is and several DX5 and other radios) so that everything is in one box for transporting to flying area. Some people go from coax to fixed pitch then move to collective pitch like the one you are looking to buy. My two cents. The picture is a couple of years old. I've bought several helis since then including a quad copter among others.

RE: Camera harness...
There are a couple of regulars on Youtube that use a hat cam with good results. If you want to fly by yourself, a hat cam may be your only option. In my experience with friends and family camera users, even when the plane is not very far away, it is hard for them to keep the plane on the camera screen. My two cents.

RE: MIG-3 large scale Russian Warbird (and other rare birds)
No problem here. I think the MIG is a good looking plane also. I didn't even know MIGs existed before the Korean War. I was pointing out something a lot of people might not know about. The Russians actually completely disassembled a detained B-29 and built an exact copy of it.

RE: MIG-3 large scale Russian Warbird (and other rare birds)
(Also other Russian birds are of interest to me. Russians have always known how to design and build airplanes. Like the Yak-3U:) [/quote] You forgot to mention they were also good at copying planes. Attached is the Russian version of the B-29 they stole from their USA allies. The second plane is the US version. Russian designation to be known as the TU–4 NATO designation was ?BULL?

RE: Rotor Concept Quad Copter HPQ-1
It looked great. Your son seemed to get tired toward the end of the video. I've been experimenting with a hat cam. I'm using a belt clip on the bill of the cap. I need to get the aim down better though. I emailed Rotor Concept and hope to hear something from them soon. Thanks for the video.

RE: HobbyZone Super Cub DX8 Settings
Unplug ACT in the plane itself. You don't need it. The Super Cub will fly fine without any adjustments in your radio other than a little trim adjustment once you're flying it. The Super Cub will fly great with any radio. Your DX8 for the Super Cub would be the same as using a Corvette to go down the block for a little grocery shopping.

UMX Hyper Taxi BNF
I watched the Hyper Taxi fly at the iHobby Show in Chicago today. It's pretty neat. The pilot ran it into the net a few times on purpose and it quickly recovered and continued to fly. He also parked the nose against the ceiling a few times. I have a Great Plains VFO I never assembled that I'll be putting on ebay now.

Other than flying for enjoyment, HPQ1 can perform some real life applications for both commercial and industrial through various optional live streaming video and on-board digital video recording HD camera systems. Features the capability to carry a maximum payload of up to 12 ounces with standard blades or up to 1.2 pound using optional high performance blades. HPQ1’s flight control board is intergrated with advanced sensors such as auto barometer, accelerometer, magnetometer, 3-axis gyro and inertia based (6DOF IMU) self stabilization system. During power up, if your radio throttle stick is not in the lowest position (zero throttle), The SPM will be activated. b. In this state, the aircraft will not respond to any command until the throttle stick is placed in the lowest position. 3. In-flight Protection during RC signal loss a. If RC signal is lost or interrupted while in flight, the aircraft will immediately self land and an intermittent beep tone will also be emitted. b. When RC signal is regained, thsi protection will be deactivated and the aircraft can continue flying 4. Low battery protection a. Upon detecting low battery, the aircraft will beeb intermittently while still flying. b. Please land as soon as possible and replace battery. c. RE: First electric plane should be........?
For less than $100, buy a Hobbyzone Champ RTF. For less than $200, buy a Hobbyzone Super Cub RTF with a Spektrum radio. For $300, buy an Apprentice RTF. Also consider flying site area and transportation of plane to field.

Close call for F-22 maiden
My F-22 is already down to seven lives. It used up two on the maiden flight. The video these were taken from make it look a whole lot more exciting. Later I lost orientation with the plane and it actually disappeared from view and when I did see it again, it dipped behind a tree line. Remembering a saying from somebody on this board, "Never quit flying it" I gave it up elevator with full throttle and it reappeared and as luck would have it, it was headed back toward me. Whew!!!
