I knew Tom and Super-Dave would beat me to this. APC is superior for performance, MA is superior for durability. Soo....Do you bang your prop on the ground much?
ORIGINAL: BiggerDanno I've found that the .55 AX likes an 11 x 8 APC. It will pull more lumber, but it's fastest with that prop in a 6.5 lb Kaos.
Okaayy well maybe it likes an 11x8 on a Kaos but this is a different airframe- Use the same load but add pitch.
ORIGINAL: dbronst3790 I did, tried 11's and 10's and only lost speed but it did take took off quicker.
OK that makes no sense. Less diameter should give speed but a slower rotation. The 12x7 should get you off the ground quickly and the 11x7 or 10x8/9 should give you speed.

Speed Junkie doing an "AAR" (After Action Review) on the subject of.....Well, basically how landing upside-down is considered a "crash" and NOT, as previously thought, a landing. James

Keep cut'n the pipe then. 15.8K is not a great number for that combo. My Rossi-45 turned a bit better than that with the stock mini-pipe. I am confident that you can get another 500rpm's out of it...easily!

Troy- We started the Revver's things there but it was a free-4-all and we could never control the frequency situation...The place is just huge! These days with the 2.4GHZ it would not be as big a deal, but I prefer Rabbit- Flyboy Dave will chime in on the weather report and whatnot I am sure-

RE: Speed Freaks Wanted- Over 200 Members already !
Start with the 9x7 so you have more static thrust. The higher the pitch the harder it is to hand launch. Vic and others are using "souped" up engines so a 9x8 or even 9x9 will have enough "oomph" for a hand launch. Have you considered using a dolly?
