RE: Great Planes suggestion
I have probably hundreds of posts about the GP Patriot, the kit and the ARF. Never got the bigger version (patriot XL) because it does look a little boxy. I still have the plans for the kit as well as manuals for both the kit and arf. maybe some day I will pay someone to build me another. Interested if the Jackal outperforms the patriot??? CHEERS

RE: H9 Jackal 50 Prop Jet
ORIGINAL: RealViking Finally I have finished my Jackal 50, Engine is a Nova Rossi 57CR, Beautiful engine! Using standard JR servos, digital for ailerons and elevator standard for rest. No retracts yet, I am thinking about using a set of electrics. Our field are not to kind to models of this wheel size so I like to test without retracts first but they are coming. We have a paved takeoff strip but its to small to land on.
BEAUTIFUL! WOW, I need to get back on track and pick one of these up...NovaRossi has a 57? I had the 50 and it was a beast- kind of rare back then though. What prop you runnin'? I have been away for awhile has anyone compared this propjet to the mother of all propjets, the GP Patriot? Looks like it has similar lines...Any radar figures on these? FYI- If you can take off from a paved strip you can land there...LOL

Biggerdano- Did you see the entire footage? There is an airplane contrail in the background in the video...What? You could not see it, OH that is because it is dwarfed by the HUGE contrail of the UFO. My guess is Ted Turner got a new toy and pushed the wrong button.
ORIGINAL: lectrictech I know what you mean. I stopped flying in 85 and didn't start again untill this March. I had to buy a new radio JR9303 2.4 because my spotless Futaba 7FG AM wasnt allowed. Too bad I loved that radio. Now however the computer world has taken over. Cant control your plane then just program it out till ypu can. I'm curious once my flying gets back to speed to see if the comp. radio will help the old planes. Of course learining how to program or adjust the correct controls may be as difficult as learning to do them with sticks!
I agree! Dual rates and expo. are cool features but I started flying in the 70's as a kid and had to learn to CONTROL THE AIRPLANE WITH THE STICKS. I still have a Futaba Conquest 6 ch. that I fly with for fun. When I teach folks to fly I mess with their programming on their TX's before they solo to make sure they can actually fly in other than optimum conditions. LOL

Cool thread! [8D] I had a Spinks Acromaster in the late 1980's (picture) with a K&B-65 Sportster...Not sure who kitted it (??) Back when I put a 60 sized engine in a 60 sized airframe , a habit long since abandoned. My dad built it and it was even in an issue of MA where folks send in little pictures of their stuff- Never could find the issue again though. Thanks for building it dad! James

Cool beans! Here is a picture of my dad and his "Playboy" when it was first built 25 years ago with an electric motor (Astro-05 I think). My dad is 85 and has retired from flying but I modified it for an OS-26FS and it still flies today in his honor! When we used to fly right until dark he used to say that it was a "nice sun-down ceremony", so I fly at dusk and think of my dad.... Good stuff!
