scale 1/144 counter rotating sub props?
anyone know where to find scale 1/144 counter rotating scale props for a sub? I'm doing an RC conversion to a 1/144 trumpeter Gato. I know the props supplied work for many people.. but for the time being I won't have a rudder my turning has to be done via directional thrust (no reverse) so I'd like to get the most effecient props I can behind it.

yes.. another Storm Launcher Question!
okay .. so I'm close to buying whole Storm Launcher package from Spin master... and then a 2nd just boat/TX package why 2? .. well first thought would be .. wreck one have a back up... not quite.. one is to play with ... while I gut and mod the 2nd ... 4ch in the gutted SL... and then SL's stock guts put into a 1/144 RC converted scale submarine :D granted the SL's stock engines are gonna be way overpowered for it.. but hey I wanna have some fun... (breaching the surface and clearing the water ...you know.. when putting around on the lake gets boring ;) anyways.. heres the question: the sub model I'm using is twin shaft .. so the thrust type turning will be utilised. the problem is.. it's long and skinny which means it'll be a real slow turner this way (especially with no reverse). is it possible to add a servo in with the thrust controls to work the rudder?like.. wire into the signal like one would with a normal servo.. before it gets to what ever mixer/splitter the big internal board uses?

RE: RC combat subs
yeah the space concerns are ofcourse foremost. the biggest issue about the scale thing is, it's hard enough to find battling ships period near me (I'm on Van island.. ferry runs to Washington plus all the driving will get rather expensive) .. let alone people/groups close that run bigger then 1/144 basically I want to run a combination of dynamic and static dive.. and a twin tube torp gun with MAYBE 2 shots pair of converted syringes for the static .. do all clubs require you to buy comercially made guns?.. I was thinking maybe gutting a pair of co2 pellet pistols.. and adding regulators and upsizing to 1/4 barrels I'll have a better idea after I get through the 1/144 PT boat cause the weapon systems will be very close, almost identical.. same with the radio/propulsion ETC... I'm a fabricator by obsession (mechanic by trade) so I've got the tools and equip to rework the piping etc of the weapon sys and rig it... I just need the mechanism;s themselves (firing and reloading) I've seen alot of discussions.. and some people have said they've done it (or atleast there is record of it) .. but what I am looking for it is the definate :( we can buy smaller TOYS for under $30 that full function ... this is definately not impossible... just really difficult LOL

RC combat subs
hey I was wondering if anyone here knew of any RC combat sub build sites? I wanna try my hand at building a sub model conversion to RC first ... but after that I want to convert a model sub to an RC combat sub (1/144 scale) and I'd really like to see where they place the balsa windows .. the different methods of torp firing maybe maybe even some vids of combat subs in action? I'm also working on a 1/144 PT boat first .. so the sub won't be my first forey into the combat world .. but the bigger ships just don't interest me ;)

anyone remeber the Puddle Jumper?
quite a few years ago before I switched from RC modeling to custom car building I built a kit that I had only ever seen once and bought it on a whim :D I forget the company but it's called the Puddle jumper. it was ment to be .049 gas powered and either tethered or let run free smooth bottom airboat with 2 wheels in the hull and one connected to the rudder ... I modified it for elect engine power (local pond rules.. the the cox black widow I had on it was insanely loud) and full RC. I worked in my Dad's custom autobody/fab shop for a few years while in school ... so we painted it too :D this was in the neighborhood of 15 years ago ... the basic half decent 2ch ground radio was almost $300 ... I think all in total this boat cost me almost $900 to build and outfit one of the reasons I got out of it ... that and I got my license and well cars and racing were more fun :D (and sometimes cheaper!) anyways... anyone remeber seeing one of these on the shelf??? (BTW.. the graphics are airbrushed.. not decals :D )
