RE: more questions from the newbie
1) Check the set screws that are in the drive cups. 2) Any 2.8 wheel with a 12mm wheel hex will work. Traxxas has a bunch of different ones 3) The Vx.18 opperating temp should be between 200-250 depending on outside temp, fuel. tune, and how your running it Yes the little black screw in the middle of the carb is the idle screw

RE: 1/8 Redcat Rockslide problem!
I just took a Rockslide tranny apart to try to figure out how you are breaking that part of the gear. I am not sure how you are doing that. The only thing I can think of is your are way over powered. The gear and the drive shaft fit together very tightly with out any play in them. I suggest upgrading to the Sealed diff upgrade part # rcl-T003 They should be back in stock in a week or too. For now we have the replacment gear Rcl-p009 instock

RE: Vx-18 Motor breakdown
Look at it this way. You have a Traxxas Slayer which it the same size as most 1/8 rc's out there on the market. And you are comparing it to the Volcano which it a 1/10 truck. If you want to compare models that are some what equal then compare the Volcano to the Stampede. Most every one knows that you have to be careful with the Stampede why because it is a 1/10 truck. All 1/10 scale rc's are more fragile then 1/8 rc's. Just go to your local track and watch the 1/10 races and see how many people break there kits in a 5-10 minute race. Not a day out bashing or even hours of driving we are talking a 5-10 min race. It happens to me and it happens to every one I race with. It is part of the hobby things break, that is what keeps the hobby going. Now if you want to compare the Slayer to anything compare it to the Avalanche, Monsoon, or even the new Aftershock. These 1/8 rc's can take a beating just like the Slayer can. I have never driven the Slayer so I can't say much there but I have heard about it from allot of people that have been in the hobby for years but I have beat on my Monsoon and it keeps going. Has it broken sure it has that is part of the fun. This forum isn't to bash other people or to bash brands every brand in this hobby no matter how cheap or expensive has it's ups and downs. Lets just help others and keep it fun.

RE: Landslide tires
Most 1/8 truck tires with a 17mm wheel hex will fit. Try to find some with a bigger offset so you can fit more tire

RE: New tires for Vortex EPX Pro
Anything over 180 Starts doing damage to the rotor, anything over 200 can start doing damage to the windings. Proper running temp for a brushless motor is 140-160.

RE: lookin to upgrade to 11.1v
I suggest running a good 7.4v 2s lipo. With the 11.1v you can run into problems with the esc getting to hot maybe even the motor to. And you will probably run into drive train issues because of the power. You won't be disappointed with a 2s lipo.

RE: Sandstorm Engine Problems
Sounds like it is too lean on the bottom end. Should be about 2 1/2 on the top. Then you want to have a crisp throttle response from a dead stop with out hesitation. If it still does it. You might have an air leak some where.
