The Tekin is a Great system,,,,,,but for Bashing in a Revo,,,,,I would go with the Mamba Max for the simple reason that there is no sensor cable to get snagged on a bush or Ripped out when you endo.....

RE: Help with Turnigy lipos!
After spending big $$$ for Reedy and Max Amp Batteries, (and getting Real tired of spending so much) I tried Turnigy and have been Satisfied with their performance. I was the first one at my Track to do so, and got a lot Ribbing at first, but after they saw the performance of my cars, alot of Peeps changed their attitudes Real fast.... I raced a Slash and a B4 for a couple years and am now running an SC10. The Turnigy 5000mah 40-50C works great in the SC10 an has just as much or more punch as my (triple the cost ) Reedy 5000mah. The smaller/lighter 20-30C 5000mah Turnigy works great in the B4...... My Batts balance fine......I charge normally charge at a 1C rate with a Durtrax ICE charger and sometimes use a $25 Hobby King charger (works just fine too) and Balance with a Blinky after charging. I have found that the Turnigy's do not need to be balanced after every run....That May be because I am only running 5-7 min Qualifiers and Mains that never go more than 10 minutes. I never run the Batts to Cut Off, the way a Basher might...... My Buddy told me that Turnigy Hardcase lipos were recently Roar approved too.....

Racer 53...... Thanks for this post. It has been very Helpful to me. I recently bought a used B4FT and had to rebuild the car. I have mad technical skills and overhauling the car was no problem at all for me. However, I had no previous experience with ball diffs. I rebuilt it as per Associated specs but had no Real World experience as to how it was supposed to FEEL/function. Thanks to your Vids, I am now "Good to Go." Now, I am helping others in the Pits to get their Ball diffs in order.......Thanks again.....

lbarnes..... Make sure that your upper/lower swashplate has not separated. The swash plate is a 2 piece (3 piece if you count the bearing) assembly. The two pieces are a press fit, and will start to come apart after a few hard crashes.

RE: New Blade SR: collective pitch!
[quote]ORIGINAL: clp.eng Redharris - Did you look at the clone 450s? I picked up a nice used one for 100 bucks minus the Tx. The 450s are definitely going to handle the wind better. Having said that I use the sR to learn to fly in the wind so when I fire up my 450 it's a piece of cake in the wind! I have a good number of packs (20 to 30) on the sR & have had no problem with the tail

RE: New Blade SR: collective pitch!
Hello everyone..... I flew the mCX for about 6 months and finally got bored with it. So, I went out and got the mSR bind and fly. It took me a day or so of orientation practice and making small hovering HOPS across the floor before I was ready to attempt a full hover. Soon, I was hovering around the living room without a problem. Its a Lot more sensitive than any co-ax heli,,,,but thats what makes it so much more fun, IMO. It wasnt long before I was flying outdoors (on Calm days only) and having a Blast. I have decided that I am hooked on this Heli thing and need a better bird for Outdoor flying. I am thinking of buying the SR. If I could afford a 450 or 500 size heli, I would go that route, but alas I cannot. I have a Phoenix Flight Sim (way easier to fly the mSR in the sim than in real life) and have been practicing on the SR. I am guessing that the SR is also much more difficult to fly in real life than in the simulator. I have gotten to the point that I dont crash the SR in the sim, unless I am trying to get "tricky" with my maneuvers. If I fly with enough altitude, I can usually recover from just about any loss of orientation. I have found that the hardest thing to learn (for me) is to fly low, slow, and straight with controlled (slow) turns. Anyway,,,,it seems to me (from reading through this entire thread) that the only real weak point on the SR is the tail motor. ( I know the separating Swash plate has been a bit of a problem too). However, (correct me if I am wrong) it seems like the guys who set the bird up right from the very start (balanced blades, level pitch adjustments, etc) have less tail rotor problems than the guys who do not do all the tedious set up stuff and just fly it right out of the box. It also seems like the guys who fly more aggressively, (mild 3G ) will be more likely the stress out the tail motor and the swash assembly. Have I got this right?.......I am thinking the SR will be my next step, unless you guys can convince me otherwise.....

RE: please assist
Rasper....... This is what I do when I run my 1/10 Nitro truck. This Mod should work for Your truck too...... I run Traxxas E-Maxx, (or T-MAXX) shocks. For On Road use,,,,I use only 2 shocks....Very Smooth on Pavement. For Off Road use,,,,I use 4 shocks........ With a little modification,,,,You can mount the TMAXX/EMAXX shocks onto Your Truck. The Mod is Worth it, because the Traxxas shocks leak less than the Stock shocks, and work better, (IMHO). The Red springs are a LOT stiffer than the Stock springs. Almost TOO stiff with all 4 installed,,,,, but I like to go off BIG jumps, and the 4 Shock set up Really absorbs Big Landings.

RE: please assist
Hi Rasper........ Welcome to the Himoto Family! Unfortunately,,,,,wearing a "Slot" into your Drive cup is a common problem with RC vehicles. Electric motors are Powerful, and Deliver INSTANT Power, upon demand. When the truck is at a Standstill, and you instantly apply Full power, it is VERY stressful on the Drivetrain. Try altering your driving style a tiny bit. Get the truck rolling a bit,,,,and THEN apply full throttle. Always let OFF the throttle when landing even the Smallest jump. Do these two things and I guarantee the drive train will survive a lot longer.... But parts WILL still wear out with usage..... P.S.....Going Brushless will put a LOT more stress on the Drivetrain. I recommend getting any Upgrades available to you, if you install a brushless system. My guess is that 4.5 turn is way to much RPM for the Big Tires on your Truck. The Motor would probably get Way too hot. I would try a 10 or 12 turn motor and gear it down so it does not over heat, (and it will STILL be some Insane speed!) The reason you are bending Dogbones is Twofold. 1.) You are driving your Truck really Hard..... This is GOOD,,,,,,keep it up!.... I hate it when people "baby" their RC's....[:D] 2.) The most likely problem is that your suspension has Too Much Travel. What I mean by this is that, when you drive over a bump, your suspension compresses to absorb the bump. When you go over a very Large bump, (or land a big Jump), your suspension compresses to its Maximum point and starts to Bind. In your case, the suspension compression is being "Limited " by your Dogbones, (which is why the dogbones are bending.) The solution is to Limit suspension travel a little bit, so that the Dogbones are not over compressed when you land hard. You want to set the suspension up so that the Shocks and the Arms absorb ALL the impact upon landing. Some cars have a Grub screw in the lower suspension Arm, that allows you to limit maximum downward travel, (Droop). You can also us a piece of fuel line (2-4mm) on the Shock Shaft, to limit shock travel. One more thing do;....Using thicker shock fluid (45-50 viscosity) will help with the big landings.

RE: Very quiet lately, you guys running rc's?
Sick...... I'll let you know when I figure out the Steering Problem.... I originally thought the Servo was worn/sticking,,,,and it Was,,,,,but the problem persisted after I replaced the servo..... I think it might be a combination of wear n tear (where Everything gets a little loose and Adds up to problems) along with a weakened plastic part. When Plastic is repeatedly Bent and then Springs back into Place (like when I bounce off curbs[:D]),,,,it gets Soft,,,,and makes for problems..... I Think Brian (BK Family) had the same problem with His MXB 3,,,,a year or so back......Mebbe He will chime in here and Save us.....Lol...

RE: Very quiet lately, you guys running rc's?
I've been pretty busy Racing my 2 Slash cars. Racing is a Lot more Labor intensive than I Imagined it would be! I am always Bending/Breaking or Adjusting Something on these cars. I took the MXT-2S out for a run, but couldn't get the Engine fired up. I have put a Lot of miles on that engine and I think its time to use the Himoto Engine Replacement Program. R.I.P Infinity motor[:o]......lol. I broke my MXB buggy,,,,Something is wrong with the steering. It Binds up and gets stuck if I make a hard right turn. So, Ive been trying to figure out That problem. Nothing LOOKS bent,,,,,but it Always get stuck, so there has to be Something Wrong. I am also working on my Minis, to upgrade them to Brushless,,,,,so thats a side project..... All in all,,,,,,I have been doing more Fixing than Running this Summer. But Thats O.K.,,,,,cuz I'll still be able to run my cars in the Winter,,,,,Here in sunny So Cal[:D]

RE: **OFFICIAL** MXT-2S THREAD
Proline, Jammin, and Losi all make 1/2 inch offset rims, (at least they Used to). 1/2 inch OffSet is as much offset as I could find, unless you use stock Himoto rims which have a 1-1/2 to 2 inch offset. I got some Losi 8ight T 1.0, (not 2.0) rims/tires from an EBAY vendor at a decent price. Used em on my MXT 2S and they work Great. (But you have to convert the Hubs to 17 mm)......

RE: Anyone have this problem on their Mega P ?
Tom....... I have had some issues with the screws in the front Hub also.......But only after the truck had a lot of Hours on the Chassis...... Plus,,,,I am REALLY hard on the truck (you've seen the Videos).....Lol I lost a few screws before I realized what was happening. The screws fell out and then I hit a bump an the whole front Hub came apart.[:D] I used GOOP on the threads and then a bit of GOOP on the head of the screw,,,,,to help hold them in. So far, so good. Those Hub Screws WILL back out if you dont inspect regularly.......I have also RIPPED those screws out after Hard Landings from my Himoto Ramp,,,,,But I consider that to be ABUSE,,,,rather than normal Wear and Tear...... If the front hub assembly is constantly coming loose, then it is worn,,,,,and may be time for some replacement parts.....

RE: recovered lipo?
I had to Dispose of a Turnigy Battery today. I noticed that it had Puffed. Removed it from the HardCase,,,,,,,and sure enuff,,,,one of the Cells was swelling and had Gas in it. I am not sure what Happened to make it fail.....I take Good Care of my Lipo and Balance them Often. One Cell had the correct Charge and the Puffed cell was low,,,,,,which was Odd,,,because I had Balance charged it only 2 days before..... I guess the lesson to be learned is to CHECK to make sure your charger is actually doing its job Properly. From now on,,,,I'll be putting a voltmeter across the cells,,,,just to be Sure........ It would have really Sucked if that battery had caught fire,,,,,in my plastic Race Box,,,,,that was in the cab of my Truck[:@]

RE: How to accurately adjust toe and camber?
There are lots of things that can affect how well an RC Steers and Tracks.... Before making any adjustments,,,,,,Make sure that the Model is in tip top condition. Dirty or worn bearings on one corner of the car can make a HUGE difference in control. Shocks that are worn/leaky/ or haven't been rebuilt in a long time can cause Handling problems. Dirty Suspension Arms (dirty pillow balls) will affect handling. ANY bent part will cause problems with running trim. Bent dogbones (front OR rear can cause steering problems). The front diff could be faulty, causing one wheel to drag.... Cheap Radio Gear is always problematical also. You See where I am Going with This? If you cannot (or have never been Able to) get your car to Steer correctly,,,,,then there is something WRONG with it, and no amount of ADJUSTING is gonna make it work right. Find the worn parts and replace them,,,,,THEN make all the proper adjustments.

Yes,,,,you want to adjust the Camber and Toe as well as you can...... Yes....I have the same 2 plastic gauges that are listed/linked.,,,,and they work fine. Just remember that you will Never get it set up Perfectly. There is so much Slop in RC suspensions (and you dont want everything too tight anyway) that its pretty much Guesswork, no matter how many Fancy gauges you have.....
