RE: Help idntifying plane
Thanks a lot for the help. The plane is almost ready to fly.Can someone suggest the correct throws for the ailerons and elevator for the initial flights. I have dual rates so both high and low rates would help. Thanks again.

Help idntifying plane
I just purchased this plane ,but am unable to identify the maker of the kit. I think it is a Japanese Zero. It is 39" long and has a 50 1/2" wing span. I think it weighs betwee 3 1/2 to 4 pounds. It is powered by an OS 40. The wheels say OK Model on them but that is the only clue I can find.I need to know the throws,CG ,and proper prop for it. Thanks for your help.

RE: HK Small Bolt Hydro same as HOTR
I have a stock small Bolt with about 20 runs on it. Can any one tell me what replacement motors work well and a source for them.I plan to run 2200 mah lipos so how many KV should I order? Prop size will be between 30-35mm Also when 35 mm props are mentioned,, are these Octura plastic, or are they from HK? Lastly where can I purchase replacement parts? HK has posted for about a year that parts will soon be available and it's not happening. Thanks for the help.

Aquacraft Mini Thunder hop ups , Kintec Racing
Could someone suggest upgrades for the Aquacraft Mini Thunder that will significantly increse the speed? Also I'm wondering if I can still use the stock driveshaft and prop? I would like to double the stock speed with these hop ups . Is Hobby King or Hobby Partz the place to buy motors and ESC's for boats.Lastly has anyone had experience with Kintec Racing? I have tried to email them but each time the email is returned. Is Kintec an American based company? Thanks for the help.

RE: Programming Polk Hobby Seeker 6 RX
I have a Futaba T7CAP TX. It has an elevon mix and I copied my program for a Russian Jet that Hobby Lobby sold some time ago and pluggged the elevator and aileron into channels 1 and 2 and it works fine. Both of these planes are pushers. Do you fly during the Winter ,and what type of planes do you fly? We're going to Perry GA on March 5 and 6 for the World's largest Swap Shop. It is held in 3 exhibit buildings at a county fair.If you haven't been there it is a real experience.Les

RE: Programming Polk Hobby Seeker 6 RX
Thanks for the info.If I want to fly using elevons with the Seeker 6 is it best to use a Y harness on Channel 1. I have an electric Vortex flying wing by Pro Tech that I bought at the Toledo Weak Signals Expo last year that I plan to fly within the next few days.I have never had any real problems flying on 72MHz. In fact I like the longer antennas because they give me a feeling of security. I will check out Polk's ads. Thanks again Walt.

RE: Lubing the OS 21 OB cable drive
I am running 18% lube and only 10% nitro at this time. I have about 1 gallon run thru the engine at this time. I plan to switch to 30 % after This gallon is completed. JD indicated I could use the top fitting as a geases zirk. What brand grease do you recommend and where would i get a little grease gun ? I have run K&B 's in the past and drilled a hole directly thru the lower end into the teflon tube that housed the drive cable, and I have only broken one drive cable in probably several hundred hours of run time. Could i inject a mixture of STP and 50 WT oil into the top fitting and be certain that the cable is being lubed properly? Thanks for the help.

Lubing the OS 21 OB cable drive
Is there an easy way to lube the OS 21 OB drive cable?I'm not certain that the oil that is scavaged from the exhaust residue is suffifient to lube the cable ,especially the top end of the cable. I broke one cable after running 1/2 gallon through theis engine. What type of oil or grease do you recommend? Thanks for the help.

RE: Lenghth of nitro pipe
Thanks Ron. Have you done any experimenting with using brass tubing that is the same ID as the outlet pipe ,placing it about 1/2 way into the tuned pipe to lower the noise level. I was talking with a boater from Grand Rapids that told me that this works but I haven,t tried it yet.He told me you could change the db level by sliding the tubing back and forth, just like playing a trombone.

Lenghth of nitro pipe
I am running a 21 sized Prather deep vee with an OS 21 engine and a nitro pipe. Can you give me the approximate lenghth for the pipe? I know the distance is measured from the glow plug to the rise in the pipe. Also has anyone done any experimenting with quieting down nitro pipes? If you use a quiet pipe do you still have to cut the pipe to get maximum rpm from it?

LIpo and ESC setup for a GP Flatout
I am building A GP Flatout Turmoil that I plan to try it in the "stock configuration. It comes with a 370 geared Electrify ferrite motor and a Great Planes C-10 Micro Ultra ESC is recommended. They also recommend a 3 cell 640 mAh Electrifly lipo battery. Because I have had a bad experience with their 1500 Mah 3 cell Electrifly lipos, I'm reluctant to use them. I am considering using a TP Pro Lite 3s730 11.1 or a TP 3 cell 11.1 910 mah battery. GP says the battery can weigh 65 grams ,which is the weight of the 910. Would this battery give me extra run time and increased power over the 730? Would I be putting too much current thru the above ESC and motor. I want to try this setup before going to a brushless motor and ESC. Thanks for your help

RE: Engine recommendations
Ron, thanks for the help. I ran the SK Daddle on Sat with the new pipe and header on the TT 15 engine. It was an immediate difference from running with the stock muffler. I think that 8 1/4 " from the plug to the rise in the pipe should be very close. The boat now runs on about the final inch of the hull and is out of the water a great deal of the time, even on flat calm water. Am I better off trying to keep the hull down in the water so it carves thru the water, or am I better off "flying" it like a hydro or OB tunnel. If the answer is carving thru the water, should I lower the strut on the strudder? Thanks Les

RE: Engine recommendations
I have ordered the Mac #1110 tuned pipe for my TT 15. When I went to the LHS we were unable to find a Traxxus header that was part # 1500. Do you happen to know which car or buggy that header fits? My SK Dadddle is running pretty well with just a stock muffler on it and an Octura 432X prop. About how many more rpm can I expect after adding the tuned pipe.?Is 1000 rpm reasonable on 15 % nitro? I have a second SK Daddle that I built 25 or so years ago that is still in very good condition. Do you think that an OS .12-.18 Buggy or truck engine would be too much power for it? Thanks

RE: Engine recommendations
What would you suggest?Could you mention several brands that work well? Do any mods have to be made to the crank etc to get the flywheel to fit? Do the non water cooled engines have any problems with overheating? I'm running about 15-20% nitro and I like to run on the rich side. Thanks Ron

Engine recommendations
I'm looking for a .15 size marine inboard engine to power a SK Daddle .19 . I already have a SK Daddle witha Thunder Tiger 15 in it that performs very well, but I'm looking for more speed of course. I do not want to use a 21 engine because I don't think the hull can handle that much power. I'm wondering if some of the newer engines are as good as the Thunder Tiger and OS engines. Thanks for the help.

Is the pipe a marine or aircraft pipe or doesn't it matter as long as it is for a 15 size engine? Do you know of a hobby shop in Michigan that carries the Mac's pipe you are suggesting? Thanks again.

SK Daddle
I have a Sk Daddle that is powered with a Thunder Tiger 15 engine with stock muffler and has an Octura strudder with a X 432 prop. The trim tabs have been removed. It moves quite well but I'm looking for more speed. Any suggestions for a tuned pipe for this engine? Has anyone tried the Cvec pipes and had good luck? The boat is on the verge of running quite well but right now the engine won't run fast enough , to really rev upand unload.. I'm throwing the boat in the water now because I'm running the prop quite high and it will cavitate if I just sit it in the water. This is the second generation SK with the "improved " flat botttom . Thanks for the help.

RE: 19 size SK Daddle
Is the X435 available in a plastic prop? I was under the impression that the Beryillium props were the X series,ie the X435 was the copper version of the 1435.I notice according to the Octura prop chart that they both have the same diameter and pitch . I am running a stock muffler because I run my boat on a residential lake. Do you have any suggestions for a tuned pipe that is very quiet for a Thunder Tiger. I also live in Mich . Do you race in the Kazoo area?

19 size SK Daddle
I recently built a Dumas SK Daddle with a Thunder Tiger 15 engine in it. The 2 props that seem to work best so far are the Octura 1240 and 1435 . The boat runs much better in rough water than I had expected. Any suggestions for other props that might work? I think the boat is travelling about 25 mph. Is this about right for the engine that I have in it?

RE: Dumas Big Swamp Buggy
I have had good success installing trim tabs on my Dumas BSB> It helps keep the boat running flat but with the upthrust it does have a tendency to fly when coming into the wind. I also installed spray rails and this helps to keep the water from climbing the sides of the boat and slowing it down. I'm building a new BSB for this Spring and I took the upthrust out of it and added the spray rails and trim tabs. My present BSB has an OS Max 40 on it which is plenty of power. The new boat will have a Thunder Tiger 40 Pro on it. I think that many of the 60 powered BSB must be top heavy and very overpowered. Are there any other mods that would help besides moving the engine forward?

RE: SK Daddle Too
The skeg for the SK Daddle Too is 1" wide and 1 3/8' deep per the Dumas plans. It is located directly under the flywheel. The plans show the back edge located 9 3/8' from the rear of the transom and that is where I have mine located. My first boat turned great with the skeg placed under the flywheel.

RE: SK Daddle Too
I am working on a stock Sk Daddle that will be powered by a Thunder Tiger 15 Marine engine. It will have the stock straight shaft. I have a second SK Daddle that I built about 30 years ago that had various engines in including a KB 3.5. The K&B provided so much power that the boat would actually do a torque roll on acceleration with a JG prop. The K&B definitely over powered the boat. A stock ST 23 seemed to power the boat just about right. I was wondering if you plan to use the stock setup for the radio box,ie having the fuel and the radio in the same compartment?
