RE: Extreme Flight 110
After your wheel collar put on a short piece of glow fuel tubing.....will take a lot to get the wheel collars to come off after that.

Today was a bitter sweet day. Rockey put in for a transfer....got a pro bro buddy near Jacksonville will take good care of Rocky. First Giant Scale for him. After 2 years and about 4 months Rocky lives on, a little older, wiser and heavier Rocky will put a smile on faces in another town. Farewell Rocky, was a great....and I mean GREAT ride. WW

RE: DL-50 engine
Can you borrow somebody's ignition and plug it in to eliminate that component? Somewhere I think it was the MVVS man who noted that the auto advance in the ignitions ends somewhere around 4-5k.

That MVVS.nl calculator is very accurate. I was able to verify thrust reading on a 50cc engine in the past to an accurate amount. R

RE: Extreme Flight 88
ORIGINAL: JoeAirPort Took my Yak out last night and my DL-50 started having problems transitioning. I had my first dead stick from the engine in a year of flawless running. Also it started to idle high. It was a very relaxing landing since I was up high as I was suspicious of the engine. So glad I wasn't doing my usual 1 foot off the deck stuff when it died. I'm thinking air leak somewhere. Anybody know how to find one besides visual inspection? I've heard of spraying WD 40 on the area and waiting for a drop in idle RPM.
How many minutes were you up before it deadsticked? Also, compressed air through the holes with the needles out can help too.

RE: Extreme Flight 88
One more thing about the engine kill. I use the first style 42% Products and must unplug my ignition battery at the end of the day or else it will drain it dead in about three days. Maybe it is just me... Pretty easy though, first flight of the day....plug it in....last flight...unplug. R
ORIGINAL: Gatorb8 I'm in colorado at 8600' for a while and I was looking at the Reactor cause it's light and cheap! Thanks for the report. The Yak didn't fit in the car so had to leave it behind........................sad face! Where the heck did the "faces" go in the editor????????????? Gatorb8
I wonder how well electric motor would be at that altitude? I got the 58" Slide in production and it has like 13 oz wing loading.. Removable wing to throw in your back seat...Got a buddy here at sea level gonna do electric on that frame but it will be a couple months before he fly's it. Back to the yak... Rocky is finally back in the shop for his annual make over. Gonna get some belly covering and a new cowl. Anybody got an extra canopy not using? Mine is red. Gonna clean it up, then clean up my 35% Pacific Planes Extra with Torch 90 and pipe and fly em side by side and make the decision to sell one. My trailer is too small and they keep getting hangar rash. R

RE: DL-50 engine
There is another way... These are nice with a diameter designed to fit on the carb shaft. Has set screw and works great. Comes in 3/4 inch or 1 inch. Most like 3/4 for throttle and 1 for choke.

RE: DL-50 engine
Also, the ignition triggers as the magnet is leaving the sensor so you need to turn it on and listen for the spark, (take plug out of engine and put in the cap) not look for mechanical location.

"" Oh yeah, and bring ear plugs unless you want to be woke up at 6 am by Wrongway prop ripping..."" I am up every day of the year at 5 am, could not see wasting that premium, empty sky. Last year I got Saturday AM wakeup with the Extreme Flight 88 Yak and G-62/pipe for 8400 static. I think the DA-150 has a deeper wake up tone though.... Next year I will bring some ear plugs
